May 9, 2023I’ve put this project on hold for the time being. As you might’ve seen on social media, I wasn’t in a great headspace for the past couple of years, and I’m not sure if that’s why I struggled with this book or if I struggled because the story just wasn’t good. I spent six months working and only got 32K words done. Unfortunately, I hated most of it and finally decided to back away.
You have every right to be angry. I’m incredibly sorry that I couldn’t get a handle on how to fix the problems, but I really did try, and I will try again. In time. I haven’t given up. I know the story is there.
But I’ve forced books before and they flop every time. It’s not worth it. Readers always know when an author wasn’t connecting.

just a couple things:
- on the pinterest board there's a lot of drug use and i really hope PD doesn't romanticise it bc it's hard enough as it is to not find people doing drugs attractive (genuinely, the positive/sexy portrayal of it needs to stop)
