We knew that Poldark series three was hitting our screens in June, but now we know exactly when.

BBC One has confirmed that the third season will start on Sunday, June 11 at 9pm, so we've got less than a fortnight to wait until Aidan Turner is getting his kit off and his torso out again.

Or is he? Turner recently stated that this series will see him fully clothed throughout.

"Am I keeping my clothes on? I think the clothes stay on this year. Maybe there's some topless sleeping. I swear to God I can't remember if the clothes come on and off," he explained.

You can't accuse Turner of not being committed to the show though, as he revealed that he broke his hand filming "action-filled" scenes of the new series.

"In one of the scenes we are busting into a prison and Harry Richardson, who plays Demelza's brother Drake Carne, was pulling back his rifle and the cock of the rifle caught my little finger on my left hand and pulled it right back," Turner recalled.

"I knew something was wrong straightaway but I had to finish the scene. The next 30 seconds, it felt like jelly."

Ouch.

It was also recently confirmed that Phil Davis's ale-swigging Jud Paynter won't be in the new series of Poldark as he's away "working for trade", according to Beatie Edney who plays Jud's wife Prudie on the show.

"Whilst I miss Phil Davis, my partner in crime, Prudie claims life is much easier without him. However, I think she secretly misses him. They are co-dependent, like drunken toddlers," she explained.

Poldark returns for series three on Sunday, June 11 at 9pm on BBC One.
