TODAY: Pacific View Block Party
  
The Encinitas Historical Society is hosting a family-friendly block party to welcome the community to see the historic 1883 schoolhouse, and to check out the improvements that have been made to the former Pacific View school site as it transitions into an arts center for the city. Play school games, eat good food, listen to live music and dance. Former students, faculty and staff of Pacific View are encouraged to attend.

Coast Hwy 101 Banner Exhibit
When driving along Coast Hwy 101 in Encinitas, check out the vinyl banners high up on the light posts and you may recognize members of the Olivenhain Valley 4-H club, along with many of their furry friends! The banners promote the San Diego County Fair theme, "Where The West Is Fun." 

Special thanks to Cindy Brandenburg and the 4-H club members for carrying out the fair theme so well in photographs. The banners are on view through July 4. (Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Dept.)
Summer Guitar Workshop with Peter Pupping
Intermediate thru advanced levels. Improve chord vocabulary, music reading, scales, improvisation, and technique!  Jam with other guitarists in various ensembles. All styles welcome.

Conversations That Matter, with Margaret Wolff

An Evening of Storytelling with Doug Jones

Wednesdays@Noon: Sonya Lee and Vadim Serebryany, Piano for 4 Hands
Sonya Lee and Dr. Vadim Serebryany, both graduates of The Juilliard School, have performed as soloists at renowned halls through the US and abroad, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and many more. Lee and Serebryany reunite as a duo to perform works for 4 hands by Debussy, Brahms and Mozart. (Cultural Arts Division)

Farm and Hangout
With live music and artisan food vendors.  Bring a friend, a blanket, a beverage of your choice, and even a picnic basket as we enjoy the summer colors at sunset. Our farmers ask you to wear closed toed shoes. Sorry, no pets. RSVP required.

Thursday Family Fun Night
Families are invited to pack up the kids and enjoy some outdoor fun in Hamilton Children's Garden at San Diego Botanic Garden. Live, kid-friendly entertainment is provided each Thursday night from 6-7 pm. This week it's Kathryn the Grape.

Encinitas Cruise Nights
Cruise downtown to see hundreds of hot rods, Woodies and other classic and vintage vehicles. Enjoy live music at several venues, find car clubs, and an Awards Ceremony at 7:15pm. This month's event will kick off the Wave Crest Woodie Meet. Classic cars are welcome in any open street parking space.

Music By The Sea: Firebird Balalaika Ensemble
"Firebird is musically superb!" ~ LA Times

The ensemble performs with Russian traditional instruments and costumes and has toured extensively in the U.S. and abroad to critical acclaim. Volunteer for Coastal Habitat at San Elijo Lagoon
Join the nature workout while improving lands for coastal sage scrub plants and animals. Volunteers are encouraged to help collect native plant seeds and to remove invasive plants.

Book Nook Sale

Families Make History: Art Rocks! 
What a fun and creative way to travel back in time and celebrate the Native-American rock art of our San Dieguito area. During the month of June, we will paint and decorate small rocks, gathered from local beaches, using colors and designs where ever your creativity leads.  Come out and rock on!

Lux Season Finale: Jorge Pardo
