You’ve got to keep up with The Chemical Brothers. The Manchester duo have stamped 2019 as their big year back on the scene. There’s a new album coming called No Geography, and today (Feb. 1) we get to jam to the LP’s third single “Got To Keep On,” a jangly, feel-good dance song.
There are layers at work here, from the smiling vocal sample at its heart to crowd whoops and whistles, twinkling textures, church bells and so many hits of booming bass. Listen closely for snippets of late ’60s Dial-A-Poem monologues. The phone-based service was run by American poet John Giorno after a phone conversation with his friend William Burroughs.
According to a press release, the duo’s ninth album was created on the same old analog equipment as its first two. Members Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons built a small studio within their studio, pushing themselves to get as random, edgy and experimental as possible.

The Chemical Brothers will support the album with a very short tour, blasting only select cities with their legendary audio-visual experience. Mexico, Los Angeles and San Francisco get dates with support from The Black Madonna. Other than that, you’ll have to fly to Europe.
No Geography is out on Astralwerks Friday, April 12. When you preorder the LP in digital format, you instantly get this and the other two previously-released singles “Free Yourself” and “MAH.” Those two are already available as a limited edition 12″ vinyl. No Geography will also come in vinyl.
