Other Site Characteristics

The territory is situated in the valley of the Ubort valley. It includes the riverbed, floodplain and terraces. The prevalent ecosystems are lowland floodplain meadows and bogs, floodplain oak forests. The floodplain includes bayou lakes, creeks, alluvial ridges covered with xero-mesophytic wild grasses. Part of the territory is the hydrological reserve.

4.2 Quality and importance

All habitats are characterized by a high degree of conservation. The floodplain is used for grazing and haying. The territory is completely covered with water in spring and early summer.

6.3 Conservation measures (optional)

The following activities are prohibited within the area of the Lelchitskoye-Svidovets Local Hydrological Reserve:-hydrotechnical amelioration, activities associated with change of existing hydrological regime, except activities on its rehabilitation, activities connected with construction and reconstruction of fire-safe forestry roads as well as maintenance activities for existing reclamation systems functioning, excluding changing of the existing hydrological regime;-disposal of waste;-burning of timber harvesting residues while performing forestry activities, burning-out of dry vegetation;-building of fires, installation of individual tents or tent camps, other recreational zones, mechanical vehicle parking outside of the areas designated by the Lelchitsy District Executive Committee;-granting of land plots for collective gardening and construction of dachas;-siting of stock breeding complexes and other production facilities, facilities of plant protection chemicals storage and mineral fertilizers; residential buildings except hunter’s or fisherman’s houses as well as other recreational facilities;-arrangement of summer camps for cattle management;-introduction of aggressive foreign species of wild plants and animals in natural ecosystems;-clear felling.Regulation on the establishment of the Lelchitskoye-Svidovets Local Hydrological Reserve (Decision of Lelchitsy District Executive Committee No 1069 of 04.11.2008).For part of the territory, which is not included to the PNA, environmental measures and restrictions of economic activities are regulated according to the Water Code of Belarus (No 149-3 of April 30, 2014)
