BLANCPAIN GT SPORTS CLUB, PAUL RICARD, 2 courses : Podium et victoire !

2ème manche du championnat disputée sous le soleil du Sud de la France, Karim Ojjeh remporte sa première victoire au volant de la BMW M6 ! Très belles performances tout au long du meeting de nos 2 pilotes Lamborghini, Pierre Feligioni et Claude-Yves Gosselin

Samedi 02/06/2018

Course qualif : Parti P8, Karim Ojjeh termine P4, tandis que Pierre Feligioni réalise son meilleur résultat en course, P7 ! Mais une pénalité ingligée aux deux premiers leur fait gagner 2 places : Karim est classé P2 et Pierre P5 ! Claude-Yves Gosselin (Lambo #4) ne peut finir, courroie d'alternateur cassée.

Course principale : Parti en première ligne, Karim passe en tête dès le premier virage et remporte sa première victoire en Blancpain GT Sports Club !  Pierre Feligioni (Lambo #6) ne peut éviter une touchette ce qui lui vaut un drive-through.., il termine P11.  CY Gosselin, parti dernier, et auteur d'une très belle remontée, se classe dans les points, P8 !

Du coup, Karim Ojjeh prend la tête du championnat !

Karim Ojjeh : “C’était une super course, que je n’ai pas vu passer, j’essaie juste de garder ma concentration. J’étais content du rythme et je savais ce que je devais faire avec la voiture. J’ai pris un bon départ et ai pu creuser un écart avec les Ferrari, ce qui était mon but, car elles sont rapides ! Quand j’ai réussi à avoir 8 secondes d’avance, je me suis dit que je devais rester concentré. Mes pneus ont commencé à se dégrader mais j’ai pu manager le traction control. Je suis ravi .. !”

2nd round of the championship on a sunny track, in the South of France, Karim Ojjeh scores maiden Blancpain GT Sports Club win at Paul Ricard, at the wheel of the BMW M6 ! Great performances of our 2 Lamborghini drivers, Pierre Feligioni and Claude-Yves Gosselin.

Saturday 02/06/2018 :

Qualif race : Qualified P8, Karim Ojjeh finishes P4, when Pierre Feligioni (Lambo #6) realizes his best result, P7 ! But a penalty for the first two drivers makes them win 2 positions ! Karim is P2 and Pierre P5 ! Claude-Yves Gosselin, (Lambo #4) DNF, due to alternator problem.t

Main race : Started from first row, Karim is leading the race in the first corner and remains leader till the end to claim his first victory in Blancpain GT Sports Club ! Pierre could not avoid collision and got a drive through penalty.. He finishes P11. CY Gosselin, started from the back of the grid, did great job, to finish P8 !

Karim Ojjeh is now leading the championship !

Karim Ojjeh : “It was a great race actually, it went very quickly! As soon as I had the lead I just kept my concentration and was surprised when the team told me we had 25 minutes - I didn’t really feel tired. I was really happy with the pace and knew exactly what to do with the car. The start was great and I managed to pull a gap to the Ferraris, which was the aim as they are quick. When I extended the lead to about eight seconds I thought ‘OK I have to stay focused here’ and I did. Tyre wear started to come into affect and I had to change the traction control slightly but overall I’m very pleased.”
