2017년 3월 31일, 대형화물선 스텔라데이지호는 화창한 오후 남대서양에서 갑자기 침몰했습니다.
당시 한국인 8명과 필리핀인 16명이 탑승하고 있었던, 이 철광석운반선의 침몰 원인은 아직도 밝혀진 것이 없습니다.
On March 31, 2017, on a sunny afternoon the large cargo ship Stella Daisy suddenly sank in the South Atlantic. The cause of the sinking of the iron ore carrier, which had a crew of 8 Koreans and 16 Filipinos aboard at that time, remains unknown.

2019년 2월, 대한민국 정부는‘미발견 구명벌 존재 확인 및 사고원인 규명’을 위해 사고 현장에서 심해수색을 실시했습니다.
그러나 심해수색 업체는 과업을 완수하지 못한 채 9일 만에 수색을 중단했습니다.
심해수색 중 선원 유해를 발견했음에도 불구하고, 계약에 포함되어 있지 않다는 이유로, 차가운 바다 속에 유해를 버려둔 채 현장을 떠났습니다.
In February 2019, the South Korean government conducted a deep-sea search at the scene of the sinking to confirm the presence of the unfound life rafts and identify the cause of the accident. However, the deep-sea search company stopped searching after 9 days without completing the task. Despite having discovered human remains during the search, they left them in the cold Atlantic water stating the recovery tasks were not part of the contract.

현재까지 밝혀진 것은‘63빌딩 보다 70m나 더 큰 대형화물선, 스텔라데이지호가 심해 3,500m에
72조각의 파편으로 처참하게 침몰해 있다’라는 「사고의 결과」뿐입니다.
「사고의 원인」에 대해서는 밝혀진 것이 전혀 없습니다.
The only thing that’s certain is the fact that the Stella Daisy, length of 321.95m, which is about three times bigger than a soccer field, sunk to a depth of 3,500 meters and broken into 72 pieces. The cause is completely unknown.

아직도 우리나라에는 스텔라데이지호와 똑같은 개조노후선박 27척이 운항 중입니다.
스텔라데이지호의 사고원인 규명은 이 선박들의 유사사고 재발방지 대책을 마련할 중요한 근거가 됩니다.

There are still 27 retrofitted vessels in the country that are in the same condition as the Stella Daisy. Identifying the cause of the sinking of the Stella Daisy is an important basis for preparing countermeasures for these ships against the recurrence of similar incidents. 1. 정부는 중단한 심해수색을 재개하여 약속대로 침몰원인을 규명할 것을 요구합니다!
     We demand the South Korean government to resume the deep-sea search and identify causes of sinking as promised:
   (1) 정부는 약속대로 미발견 구명벌 2척의 위치를 확인해주세요
        Confirm the location of the two missing life rafts as promised.
   (2) 정부는 약속대로 사고원인 규명에 꼭 필요한 3D 모자이크 영상을 구현해주세요
        Implement the 3D mosaic image necessary to identify the cause of the incident as promised.
2. 정부는 심해수색 중 발견한 유해를 수습하고, 추가 유해수색을 실시하길 요구합니다!
     We demand the government to recover the found human remains and make further searches.
