Call of Duty 2 won't install on Windows 7

When you in-port the Call of Duty CD-ROM, you get the option to either:
A) Open Installer
B) Brows Files
you usually need to open the installer as most of us do, in my case a message appeared saying "This Program has known compatibility issues".
So i searched the internet and i arrived here, & here:

The man/woman in this YouTube video explains that you need to browse the files (or go to my computer, and "Open" the CD-ROM after a Right-Click), which shows you loads of .ini .inf .mst files and more. You need to double click the "setup.exe" program in this list located on the disk.
You should see the CoD2 loading image in the center of your screen followed by the usual install procedures. The problem is something to do with the AutoRun.exe program Windows 7 uses, being non-compatible with older programs. I suppose its like running a Microsoft dedicated movie file on an apple dedicated movie player.
BY THE WAY i received a few error messages on completion of the installation similar to those coming up with AutoRun, however the game seems to work fine so i just forgot about it. Silly Microsoft.
Watch the video and you will see how easy this is to do.
I hope this helps and works other programs you may have problems installing in the future.
UPDATE:
He says towards the end of the video that single player might not work as it didn't for him.. this might be because his disk was corrupted. However i can play both single player and multi player. If it doesn't work for you, you can always un-install the program in the control panel so don't worry if you find a better solution.

Microsoft made a security update called "kb3086255", september 8, 2015, which caused errors to many games.
I´ve tried just about everything, but this fixed it all, both for COD1 and COD2.
You can read the post at Microsoft here.
The fix is simple to activate this service:
1. Open CMD
2. Type: "sc config secdrv start= auto" and hit enter.
3. Thats it. The service starts and stops automatically now.
If you should have any problems with the above, you can use the command:"sc stop secdrv" to stop the service.

I’ve seen various “solutions” to this problem all over the Net, tried them, and only one solution worked for me. I’m using discs to play Call of Duty, not a cloud gaming site.
The problem was created with the installation of the windows update file…. KB3086255. Go to your windows update on your computer, search past installations, and find this file. Delete it, reboot, and then try the game. Worked like a charm for me. I have no idea what the deletion of this file does with security, but I’ve ignored the security issue, played the game, and have found nothing wrong with security. Remember that if you install windows updates, the KB3086255 may reinstall. If so, you may have to delete it again to play the game.
If did read a description of the KB3086255 update on the Microsoft website and it did caution that some game may not work with this update. Thanks, Bill.
