Kindred #3

Rough Love

Rate this book
Logan
After watching my friends all get coupled up and blissfully happy, I vowed that it would never be me. Being with one woman – and only one woman – was enough to make me sick. I’d get bored.
I was a cocky fucker and that’s how I planned on staying...
Playing the field suited me right and I wasn’t going to give that up for anything. Football and women were all that I knew and that was how it was going to stay.
Until she came along…
Meghan came into my life and turned it on its axis. She was feisty, had the right amount of sass and didn’t take any of my cockiness to heart. Having her in my life shouldn’t have been as much hard work as it was turning out to be but when I was with her...
It all felt right; even though it should feel wrong.

Meghan
I had no time for men. They were a waste of time and energy and were only good for one thing.
The last man that I had let into my life had made me learn that lesson. After being made a mother, I was taught that I could only rely on one person. Myself. There was no prince charming; only a prince for the night.
Logan was a player. That was obvious. I had vowed to stay as far away as I could from players but when I saw him with my baby girl, I wanted him to be my prince charming. One night was never going to be enough with him...
Logan West wasn’t a perfect love. He was a rough love that would leave you torn to pieces when he left.

It’s the final instalment of the Kindred series and I’ve loved every minute of this series. Each story has a romance, a struggle and a mystery. Rough love is Logan’s story.

When Meghan split with her ex it was more than hurt feelings she was left with, but some mistakes are a blessing in disguise. When Logan shows an interest in her she’s wary of his reputation.

Logan isn’t looking to settle down but when he meets Meghan he knows she’s different.

This is a college romance about family. It’s the third instalment of the series. It can be read as a standalone however like most books it’s enhanced with the background of the other books.

Paperback/KU read.

Good!

A perfect end to the series. Logan and Meghan are two lost souls with a past. Together they make a perfect couple. A few bits keep you on the edge of your seat, but the love the characters have for one another shines through. If you like a YA romance then this series is for you.

So, when I received this ARC, I noticed it was the 3rd book in this series. I know it says can be read as a standalone, but I went ahead and read the 2 prior to this one and I am sooo glad I did. It definitely more enjoyable and more special to read the other couples in this series. A mix of sports romance, college, new adult.

Rough Love is about Logan, the single, playboy out of the group, and a single young mom named Meghan. Logan has alot of inner baggage but so does Meghan. But can they put their fears aside and go all in together. Meghan knows her daughter comes first, but there is something about Logan that makes her want more. She's been through a rough time with her ex but giving Taylor the best and safest life, she is going to do everything she can to make that a reality.

I really enjoyed this story. I loved the addition to Logan's backstory, the new family he gained, the empty hole that was filled. This was really a sweet story. I enjoyed seeing everyone get their HEA. Johnny, Tillie, Sammy and Benjamin. It was a really sweet ending to this story.

This is the third installation in the Kindred series, it can be read as a complete standalone but you get glimpses of the previous couple in each book. Logan has thought of himself as a playboy and one who is not going to settle down but as his friends find their match he starts to feel like the odd man out. Then Meghan comes along and she is everything Logan did not know he needed. Meghan was not looking for a relationship and was in town to start over fresh. I really enjoyed the push and pull between the two. How they had to break down walls to get to the relationship they did not know they needed. The chemistry and build in the relationship was great. I thought Taylor was the perfect addition to the story. I loved seeing the characters from the other books. If you are looking for a single parent college age romance with a variety emotions that include great characters this is your book.

As Logan watches his friend succumb to the love bug the one thing he does know is that he is enjoying the single life and intends to keep it that way. This was working out very well for him until he meets Meghan and she becomes a gamechanger.

Meghan has recently moved to town with her daughter. She is independent and determined that her daughter Taylor is all she needs in her life and isn’t about to get involved with any man let alone one with a reputation like Logan.

As they spend time together both mother and daughter fall under Logan’s charms but will he be able to convince her that all he was waiting for was the right woman and that she can trust him with her body and her heart?

This is my book by this author, but I would definitely read her other stories. Logan and Meghan give each other what they didn’t know they were missing in their lives.

I have really enjoyed reading the Kindred series, Lizzie James has created a heartfelt and emotional series that will make you have all of the feels while include REAL characters and issues. Logan is in a weird place where he loves that his friends are happy and have met their other half, but feels like the odd man out, though that does not mean that he wants what they have! He is perfectly find being a player.... until he meets Meghan and everything changes.

This book will make your heart clench in some places and rejoice in others, it was deeply emotional and is a completely roller coaster, which I LOVED! All in all, I totally recommend not only this book, but all of the books in the series if you want some crazy feels in your life- 4.5 outta 5 stars from me!

PS: Thank you to Lizzie James and Give Me Books PR for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!

“I’ve always been a player. I’ve never wanted to be tied down to one girl. Life is for the living and I never thought it should involve being tied down to a person or a place.”

Logan West, the loveable player on campus is about to get the wind knocked right out of him! Light hearted, friend to all and with college graduation just around the corner Logan biding his time until he goes and conquer his new adventure in the world.

Until he claps his eyes on a blonde bombshell and then the bet is on to see if he can get not only into her good graces...but her knickers!

She was mine already. Game. Fucking. On.

However...could our womanizer Logan be about to find more bargains for when Meghan gives him a mouthful and doesn’t fall for his charm offensive ways?

“Does talking to women’s tits usually help get you into their pants, Logan?”
His eyes shot up to mine. “Try talking to their faces and it might get you more than one night.”

Meghan Jacobs knows a bad boy when she sees one and right now that is something she could do without. Meghan’s had her fair share of dealing with no good players. All she cares about is her little girl and starting a new life away from one man that refused to step up to the mark and caused more than just heartache.

In her head Meghan knows that Logan is trouble with a capital T and should try to stay away from him...her body on the other hand would love nothing more than to roll around under the covers with him!

He reached over and took my hand in his. Little sparks exploded from where he touched me and I secretly loved it and hated it. I loved it because it felt right and hated it because I worried he could leave me wrecked.

Even her heart is playing tricks on Meghan, as she watches Logan with her daughter Taylor and with every meet the pull to be near him grows in more ways than one, Meghan is fighting a losing battle.

“And what do you see?”
“I see a woman that I am dying to get to know. A woman that I want to touch and hold. I see everything that I have never allowed myself to want.”

Logan & Meghan…<3 The weight of the bet plays on Logan’s mind because he knows that Meghan is becoming more than just a hook-up. Her daughter has also stolen his heart and before he knows it Logan is lovestruck. Meghan sees something in Logan, despite her first judgement, Meghan can feel herself melting and craving his touch.

“I’m not going to be able to stop if we do this...I’m going to want you all the time and it won’t end with my fingers inside of you.”

Rough Love is the final book in the series and wow this certainly ends on a high! I love the Kindred series, meeting the different characters/reading their stories. Logan and Meghan are no expectation. With true friendships, a few surprises around the pages and hot sinful steamy moments this will keep you flipping the pages until the very end.

Rough Love is the 3rd and last book in this series. Having read the other two and reading bits of Logan in the back ground i was so excited when he finally got his own story his own chance at love but there was just one problem he is a player of epic proportion.

Logan West is a one man band a lone star destined and happy to play the field 1 night with any woman was enough for him but seeing all his friends couple off was making him think of his own life his single status. Megan is like a tornado that came into his life and stood up to his arrogant play boy ways. He wanted her from the get go but she didnt want him she fought him every step of the way till he met her little girl and he fell in love with her while falling in love with megan. She has a troubled past with men he knows he has to go slow with her but one night with her fast becomes more for him and more for her too.
Its a tangled web when they come together with a letter that comes from Logans past that seems to glue Logan and megan together more.

Love this series so much great job this talented author did on this book.

Warning Logans story has connections to another series u should read first and thats the Tangled series.

Great 5 star read on the whole series not just this book.

The final installment in The Kindred Series and what a beauty. Logan West, a cocky player. All the girls wanted him and he wasn't scared to allow them to have him until he met Meghan, Tillie's cousin.

Except Meghan wasn't like the rest, she needed time consideration and support; the opposite to the typical Logan charm.

With twists galore and emotional scenes pulling the series to a conclusion. This showstopper had my heart in my mouth at various points.

Can Logan give Meghan what she needs even with her past looming, protecting all who matter to him?

I've loved this series from top to bottom and I was really excited to see where Logan was going to go based on his previously established personality.

I wasn't dissappointed, Logan has been done justice. It's been so great to see how everyone has progressed and I love the new characters that were introduced.

I found too many inconsistencies to enjoy this book, Sammy in book 1 injured his kidney, in book 2 it was his arm that halted his career, here it it is his leg. This is before we even get into Logan & Meghan's story or characters.
I'm glad I finished the boxset but I'm unlikely to remember the books going forward. In my opinion there are better books in these genres.

I AM SPEECHLESS. This is the third book in the series and it consumed me entirely. It can't be read as a stand alone but it was everything. It will make you laugh, blush, cry and throw it on the wall but trust me every single Page is worth it.

Since discovering Lizzie James and the first two books of this series last year at a signing event in Leeds, I've been excitedly waiting for the next book. Once I finally got my hands on it, I loved it from start to finish. I've spent a lot of time reading in the sun during lockdown and Rough Love was the perfect book for this. I was pulled into the story and it felt like I was right there witnessing what was happening. I lost track of time and became so consumed that I didn't see or hear anything that was happening around me. That's when you know it's a good book. No! That's when you know it's a GREAT book!!

As a single parent myself, I found I could relate most to Megan from all the characters in the series. I have the same need to always put my child first and ensure anything I do is also for them. That fear of moving on is real and I wish I could find my own Logan - you can't help but fall a little in love with him. I loved catching up with how all the other characters were doing, and whilst the ending wraps up the series, part of me still hopes it won't end because I'm not yet ready to say goodbye. I also feel that Andrew needs his own book so we can see if he does change and finally finds someone he can love as they deserve.

If you're looking for a series that has a little bit of everything with each book being different and standing out on their own, then you need to pick up this series today. You won't be disappointed and, just like me, you'll be hooked from the first chapter. I can't wait to see what Lizzie James has planned for the future!

"So what does being your girl mean?" I asked. "For us, I mean?" He held his hand out for mine and I immediately grasped it in mine. "Let me show you," he whispered.

5 Player with A Heart Stars!! What an emotion journey... but it was so worth the ride!

Logan is well known for loving two things, football and women. All his friends were happy in relationships and he felt like the third wheel. But that didn't mean he wanted a relationship. Oh no, he's quite content on being a player! That is until he sets his eyes on Meghan. Meghan is a tough girl that has zero interest in men at the moment. She's been burned one too many times and she's not going to rely on a man to help her for anything. But that changes the minute she sees Logan with her daughter. Will she let her guard down long enough to let him in and will he stop being a player to let Meghan fall for him?

I think Logan is definitely my favorite out of this series! While he is definitely smackworthy, he's got a heart deep down inside! I loved that this book touched on real issues and hit you right in the emotions!! I highly recommend this book!

So it was a while ago I read the first 2 books in this series so I was worried I would struggle to get into the characters again but I didnt even have to worry as it felt like meeting with old friends again!
Absolutely love these guys.. such a strong family bond between a great group of friends.
This time it's the story of bed hopping definitely not one woman man Logan!
And for all that Logan is and we wouldnt change him to see him being knocked on his butt when Meghan moves to town was so so good!
Another fab read full of drama and eith some twists being thrown in along the way.
Didnt put this down after starting it.
Huge well done Lizzie!

This was such a sweet and feel good read! I've read the previous books in the series, but this is definitely my favorite!

In this installment, we have Logan who has always been the playboy of his friends and has no intentions of settling down, despite the fact that all of his friends have found the love of their lives. That is until he meets Meghan, and he suddenly finds himself wishing for all the things that he swore he never wanted.

Meghan is a tough woman whose sole focus is raising her daughter in the best and safest environment possible. She's been burned too many times when it comes to men, so they aren't even on her radar. But when Logan does everything he can to prove that he's not like the men she's used to, and sees the way he is with her daughter, she can't help but fall in love with him.. But can she fully let down her guard to let him in?

I truly loved this story! Both Logan and Meghan have some intense baggage (but who doesn't?) And watching them both overcome that and truly connecting with one another was really amazing. I definitely recommend this book!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

This love story is a roller coaster of events that’s takes you in the journey of finding love when you least expect it. When you think your life is fine the way it is but when you see this person for the first time and you are blown away. Logan and Meagan seem like they are from two different worlds in so many ways. He’s a playboy that never wanted to settle down and she a single mother just trying to start he life again. But they find a new life and happiness together. But it a bumpy ride so hang on!

Rough Love is book 3 in this series, and while it is able to be read alone you really do get a better picture of who these characters are if you read the other books first.

This is is Logan and Meghan’s story. Logan is a cocky playboy who is never planning on settling down. Meghan is not looking for a relationship just a fresh start. When the two of them meet their chemistry is off the charts and they begin to open their hearts to the idea that maybe they can let down the walls they have both have put up.

This is a wonderful story with great characters, fabulous writing and a story line that will keep you hooked from beginning to end.

A must read book and series for sure!

Rough Love was an amazing read which took me on roller coaster ride of emotions. Logan is happy for all his friends who have found their person, but he has no desire to do that, instead he's going with his playboy ways until Meghan comes across his path. I didn't know what I signed up for, but boy was I in awe for the journey. Lizzie James had me falling in love with Logan & Meghan from the jump, and nothing happened that really enraged me too much, nope, it was more my heart being squeezed. That's a bit deal to me since I have lived my life without showing too many feelings, and frankly, this book blew that out of the water. I'm going to make this short & sweet since it's just better to experience it on your very own, so hit those one click buttons immediately! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

This is the 3rd book in the kindred series. Logan has always been my favourite character and I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. I devoured every word and loved every page.
Everyone wants to tame the bad boy and Meghan was the perfect person to throw at him. A strong confident female lead who keeps him on his toes.
Lizzie has well and truly smashed this one out of the park and I love the crossover to her other series (Tangled Series).
This is a sexy, funny & heartfelt read - have your tissues ready!!

This is the 3rd book in this fascinating series and is Logan and Meghan’s story. Logan is a cocky playboy who is feeling a little left out as all his friends are meeting their significant others, that is until he meets feisty single mom Meghan. This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster as well as being a heartfelt romance story. I was hooked throughout, and I recommend for all.

Lizzie James made sure each of these characters stole a piece of my heart when writing this series. It's not just a romance book. You get all the feels with this series.

Logan is by far my favorite in the series and his and Meghan's story took me on an emotional journey I wasn't quite prepared for. But I'm so very grateful to have felt like I was a part of the family.

An ARC was kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
