On Instagram alone, the two-year-old stories concept now has a user base of more than 400 million Instagramers a day. The concept was recently joined by Facebook stories, a similar platform separate from Facebook’s regular newsfeed. Both are used not only for entertaining content, but for promotional content as well. The same can be said of the new social media network, Monoreto, which offers similar newsfeed and stories sections to Instagram, but with a twist. Content on Monoreto can be monetized through a system of content affirmation that makes it unique.
Stories
So what are stories? They are visual content displayed in full-screen mode that disappear (if not saved) 24 hours after posting. This type of sharing is perfect for say behind-the-scenes footage of a product or service as well as entertaining content.
Feed
Content in the feed of regular posts does not occupy the entire screen and is saved in the author’s account until it is intentionally deleted. This is where information and news about a product or brand is posted. This space is also perfect for entertaining content about a product or brand used to strengthen relationships with your account followers and audience.

Choosing content
Because the two are different and meant for different audiences, it is imperative that you choose the right content for each type of sharing. Stories and the feed have a lot in common, but your audience perceives them differently. Keep this in mind when choosing content for each. For example, original, “authentic-looking” videos are best published in stories, while continuously relevant content finds its best home within the feed.
