Coming face-to-face with my past changes EVERYTHING.

I’m at the top of my game. All my struggles have finally paid off. Life should be great.

I mean, life is great.

Except for the fact that I can’t stop thinking of her. The woman who mangled my heart into a bloody pulp and never looked back.

If I could free myself of our shared memories, my future would be golden.

There’s only one way to move on—I have to confront the past, so I can move into the next chapter of my life in peace. Which means confronting her for the final time.

I had no idea that knocking on her door that day would turn my life upside down.

*****Spoilers Ahead*****

Since I knew how this shit was going to go probably before the author decided to write it. I’m not going to rate it. Not because I want to spare the author’s feelings, I really could care less what she’s going to feel when and if she read my review.

Anyway.. Let’s begin, shall we?

Hero is engaged to his costar, if you read my review of book 1 then you know he was starting to have feelings for his co-star until his drugged up ex fuck buddy aka heroine overdosed and he ran to be at her side. After he left the heroine like yesterday’s trash because he thought she betrayed him, he proceeded to bang anything and everything until he started dating his co-star, in book 1 I liked the costar. She was a good woman in that book but in this book she became a catty bitch with hate for the heroine. I can understand why she hated her, she knew the heroine still held her fiancé’s heart. Even though hero only went looking for the heroine because he wanted a clean start on his new life with his fiancée he still knew she would forever hold a place in his heart.
Like i said in the beginning. I predicted what was going to happen in this like the surprise baby that wasn’t really a surprise for me but only for the hero.
The fiancé didn’t want to be a stepmom to her much less be a mom to her own kids if she ever had any with the hero.
The fiancé became a horrible person. The author decided to pimped the heroine as a perfect woman in order to make the OW look bad. Yeah I pretty much knew that too by the end of book 1.
Come on is it still a surprise that authors keep writing recycled tropes and plots? Not to me. That’s what they’re selling best. many readers like many authors are pretty much pathetic.

If you haven’t guessed by now or if you’re smart enough then you already know that the heroine was celibate for the whole 6 years of their separation. A woman needs to be frozen in order for her to raise her child, right? God forbid that she has a sex life while raising a kid. Nope because a woman who has sex is a bad mother. After all that’s what authors are basically insinuating when they make their heroines a reborn virgins after she had a kid while hero needs to wet his stick in every pool there is.
She went on a couple of dates with a guy but she was taking things slow while the hero swapped fluids with many women. We also got to hear how hero was upset (for a second) because she went on a date while he stayed behind to babysit his kid but then he remembered that he had a fiancé at home that he loved very much.
Heroine tried to get along with her but the ex fiancé was impossible, and well even the kid decided to be a brat too.

He was going to go through with the wedding, he loved his fiancé it wasn’t until she sold him out to the press on the whereabouts of his daughter and heroine that he breaks his engagement with her if it wasn’t for that he would’ve still marry the woman. He was with the fiancé until 65% of the book. There’s no sex scenes with her at all in the book.

Weeks later, he sleeps with the heroine without a condom. He says that he’s clean but how does he know that? He hasn’t gone to get himself tested after he broke his engagement. And even if he used condoms with his ex fiancé he still should’ve gotten himself tested.

I’ll leave you with some amazing (not) quotes from the book.

“I love you. I’m going to marry you.” Thankfully, she smiles and covers our entwined hands with her free one. I don’t want to hurt Adelaide, and she would be hurt if she knew that the truth is that part of my heart will always belong to Lilah. We went through too much together—things that connect us for the rest of our lives.

I haven’t had the itchy feeling on my skin in years. The one that used to cause me to turn to anything to numb myself. But the minute Jimmy landed on my doorstep, it returned. Which means I’m going to have to work harder on my sobriety than I have in a long time.

She doesn’t need to explain. I know exactly what she means. I felt exactly the same way after I finished trying to mend my broken heart by banging anything with a pulse. Once I really started dating again, it felt pointless because I compared everyone to Lilah.

“Wait… it’s been a long time though.”
“Like, a really long time. Not since we…” Then I grasp the meaning of her words. If she thought her confession that she hasn’t been with anyone since me all those years ago would put me off, she’s wrong. It has the exact opposite effect.

Wow!
After that ending in All We Were, I was expecting a whole more angst in All We Are, but to my surprise this book turned a lot more kind of a slow burn than I expected! I loved it!

I wont say much about the story in this one, because everything I might say it will spoil the surprise of reading it and discover for yourself the beautiful love story in this duet.

I've said before and say again: Jimmy is just wonderful! Like, I-want-that-man-to-be-my-man wonderful!
And Lilah, well Lilah just filled my heart!

Seriously, this duet is just wonderful and everyone should grab a copy and read it!!

*ARC received in exchange of an honest opinion***

All We Are really surprised me. The story took a whole other direction than what I was expecting after the end of All We Were and I liked that.

This second book in the duet is less angsty than the first, but I liked the change of pace and the change in the story. The story turned into a second chance romance and one I enjoyed reading.

Jimmy went through a LOT in the first book taking care of Lilah and now, years later, he has everything set in his life. Although it's definitely not what we expected.

Lilah has been through more than a LOT and she overcame a LOT too. We can see how she matured and I like this new version of her way more than in the first book. She frustrated me a lot in the first book, even though I understand her actions and feelings.

This book focused more in how the characters are different and less in ther past. All We Were, the first book, told us a lot about Jimmy and Lilah's past and their tragedies and that made it more angsty than All We Are. Lilah is a completely different person and although Jimmy has changed too, it's the change in her that I loved seeing more.

The fact that this story focused less in their past makes it so much more different than the first. The story flowed differently and it made me feel differently. It might be a bit less powerful, but it's still a very enjoyable story. One of love and redemption and growing up despite everything life throws at us.

I wonder if this kind of plot is the only one author know to write about. I always thought they had a wonderful imagination, they were always thinking about amazing stories about love but it’s been a while since an author wrote a worthy of my time, intelligent and captivating story. #sorrynotsorry

5+ Stars ~ Reviewed by Emma-Louise on behalf of KindleFriendsForever

A book I anticipated for as long as the wait to receive it, once it hit my kindle I dived in and was reaching the finishing line quicker than I would have liked. These authors don’t create short reads but they have the ability to spin a brutally emotional and raw tale that ensnares the reader and makes time fly faster than normal.

We don’t pick up at the end of the last book. Nope, not in this one and it does make a lot of sense to have a time lapse. As the authors themselves state, this is a book about both Jimmy and Lilah and she was a messed up basket case in the last book. Lost in substance abuse, wallowing in it like a pig rolls around in mud. She needed time to remake her little world and discover who she is standing on her own two feet.

When Jimmy and Lilah come face-to-face again, it could have been so much better if Jimmy hadn’t found out what he did the way he did. You see, Lilah had a secret and it kept me guessing on whether Jimmy would ever be able to move past it. Hate comes from love. Hate fuels passion and these two had it in spades. With a single word or look they could injure or even maim.

‘The pressure inside me releases, and I finally admit to myself that my concern isn’t just because she’s–,

It’s because she’s Lilah.

My Lilah.

No matter the time and distance and circumstances that kept us apart, some things never change. And what we mean to one another is one of those things.’

With the time between books, t meant that the story between them progressed at a very slow pace. Almost insurmountable odds were stacked so high even Superman would have struggled to leap them in a single bound.

Lilah oftentimes wasn’t a good person in the first book. Whereas here she’s relatable, I lost count of the number of times my heart bled for her and the predicaments she had put herself in. Good or bad, her decisions (off drugs) were always made carefully and with thought and planning. Well, for the most part, she knows where she wants to be and who she wants to be and when she jumps in she does it with both feet.

“I wish there was another word for love because sometimes I feel like it doesn’t sum up what we have.”

There is no risk of boredom or monotony when reading a book penned by these two lovely ladies. Jimmy and Lilah have earned their spot on my top three much-loved couples.

‘My reaction is fierce and immediate. I growl into her mouth and slide my tongue along the seam of her lips. She parts them for me, and the taste of her rushes in on an ocean of conflicting emotions. Ever so slowly, we find that rhythm and the sting of betrayal fades and all I taste is her want and need that matches my own.’

We make of life what we will and even fictional characters have been known to throw a wrench into their own machinery. All We Are is the kind of book I wish I truly could read again for the first time. Thank you, ladies, for completing this duet the way you did. I loved the epilogue that was so brilliantly done.

Review by Jen Skewes

I could not wait for the conclusion to Lilah and Jimmy's story. especially after that cliffhanger that left me with broken heart. I think I was just as broken as these two characters were after what had happened. I think in my mind I had an idea as to where this story would go, but while one part may have been true the rest of this story was not how I thought things would go. And for the record I am not complaining at all. It had drama and angst and as I started reading the first page I swear my heart broke all over again. I felt sick and was so scared to read on but knew that I wanted, no needed to.

Jimmy is at a new tase in his life. his career is at the top and he is trying to live his best life. Trying, being the key word here. In order for him to go forward in the next stage of his life he needs to move on from his past. and the only way to do that is to confront it head on. He needs to know the why's of it all. What really happened and why? How could someone who had his whole heart just break it like that. H?e hoped for closure and answers but instead got the shock of a lifetime. What he was about to now face would change everything. What happens net? I cannot tell you. I do not want to give anything away. Just go in blind and hope for the best.....lol

I love Lila and Jimmy and was rooting for them all the way. At times Jimmy completely frustrated me and I felt like I wanted to slap some sense into him. But then there were the times that I just wanted to him and kiss him. I loved him, I truly did but boy could he play with my emotions. Lilah, I still loved her throughout this entire book. I loved seeing the person that she became, and how she turned her life around. These two were truly soul mates in every way. I believed that they belonged together. I think no matter what happened over time that their hearts belonged to each other. They loved each other in a way that they could never love anyone else. They were meant to be together, even if they had to go to hell and back to get there. I hurt with them. I cried with them. I felt it all with them. This book certainly tore at my heartstrings but in the end it was left happy and whole again.

I loved everything about All We Are by Elisabeth Grace and Michelle Lynn!!

By the time I finished the first book, All We Were I was completely invested in Lilah and Jimmy. Their tremulous relationship put me through the ringer, but through it all I always felt their love. Egh, they were so close to having it all. I desperately needed them to get their HEA. Needless to say the end of the book ripped my heart out! I was literally distraught. I couldn't imagine what book two would have in store for me. I was both scared and excited impatiently waiting. With so many questions swirling in my head....
Was this the end for Jimmy and Lilah? How could they ever recover? Would Lilah go back to her old ways?

Elisabeth Grace and Michelle Lynn delivered the goods in All We Are. It's filled with depth and character growth. From start to finish, I was hooked on it's emotive storyline. My heart aching and my stomach in knots.
It started off quite differently then I had expected. Which I did find refreshing....
I actually was shocked at the route it had taken, but I wasn't shocked with how some of it played out. Even with a bit of predictably this book was still the perfect conclusion!

As far as Jimmy and Lilah what can I say?? If you loved Jimmy before just wait!! This man is down right dreamy. He kept a permanent smile on my face.
If you think you know Lilah, she will surprise you... I felt all of their emotions! I really can't say much more without giving anything away, except read this exceptional duet!

Omggggg this story!!!! Just WOW. All We Are by Elisabeth Grace and Michelle Lynn is the STUNNING conclusion to the Ex-Factor Duet. It cannot be read as a stand-alone, so you’ll need to read All We Were first. I had been waiting to get my hands on this story for what seemed like forever. And it seriously was so worth the wait. After that ending, I really had no idea where this story was going to go. Full of second chances, regrets, and forgiveness, All We Are was so beautifully written and I am so happy with how it all turned out.

I’m not going to say too much but I will say this-sometimes in life we need to move on from toxic people and the effects of what they do to us. Walking away is one of the hardest things to do. But sometimes fate intervenes and there is no stopping the force that connects two souls together. Two people who are truly meant to be together, will always find a way no matter the cost. Always.

These characters worked their way into my heart and soul. Elisabeth Grace and Michelle Lynn did a phenomenal job with All We Are. It honestly touched my heart and this story will stay with me for a long time to come! Highly recommend reading it! ~Meghan

Literally 15 mins after this book hit my kindle, I started reading and didn’t stop until it was finished, I have been waiting for the conclusion of the Ex-Factor diet since I finished book one and I LOVED how this all played out. I’m. It saying it was easy because really I had a knot in my throat since the first word but I absolutely loved it!

All We Are picks up 6 years after the end of All We Were (which you have to read first) and Jimmy is about to enter a new phase of his life but first he has to get closure which brings him to Lilah’s front door...but that’s where the truths start to be revealed..

I’m not going to go further into it because it’s something you must experience first hand but I will say that this book is full of angst, heartache, a whirlwind of emotions and what seems like impossible situations, but after all of that is the proof that nothing worth having is easy..

I really loved these characters in both books and I know that they were a hot mess but for me that was part of their charm. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes I wanted to reach through my kindle and shake them but I got it! I can not stress enough, that this book needs to be read ASAP!!~Melissa

"You cannot run from your past."

Jimmy had his heart broken once, but he recovered. After witnessing Lilah's alleged betrayal, he had a difficult time. Six years later, his career has consolidated and he is about to get married. However, the shadows and doubts of the past still haunt him and make him seek Lilah for closure. He never thought that the things he would discover by knocking on the door would change his life forever.

The revelations that follow from this point in the book are slowly changing the lives of Jimmy, Lilah, Monica and Adelaide. Past and present mix and form something new and mature, which is calm and at the same time intense.

If at the beginning of the previous book, I had trouble accepting Lilah's behavior, everything changed at the end of the first volume and throughout the second book. Her insecurities and fears are real, grounded, and do not appeal to extreme drama.

A trajectory full of anguish and emotion, which from the first book awakens the most intense and controversial feelings. The story of Jimmy and Lilah moves and makes us reflect how trauma can mark life to the point of almost destroying it and that love can truly transform and save lives and stories.

5 Star Review All We Are (Ex-Factor #2) by Elisabeth Grace & Michelle Lynn

Wow, where do I start? This is one of those little gems that you hope you to find. All We Are had me from the first chapter and I was riveted until the last. This was a book which I highly anticipated after reading book 1 and I was not disappointed with the it in any way. This is a great conclusion to a duet which has become one of my favourite reads so far this year.
If you haven’t read the first book All we Were then you need to STOP as this book picks up a number of years after the previous book finished.
Jimmy needs closure to move forward with his life and in order to do that he has to see Lilah.
I am unable to say more for fear of spoiling the story accidentally. This was an emotional roller coaster of a read and one that really got to me. This book had so much angst and packed such a punch that I was left with a book hangover.
All I can say is one click this duet ASAP.

This is the conclusion in the Ex Factor duet. All we Were left me hanging wanting to find out more. This story is a great slow burn ,second chance love story. Six years later Lilah and Jimmy have to face their past to finally move on. They soon learn that trying to forget the connection between them and everything they’ve shared will not be easy.

I enjoyed this story. It was well written and kept me interested. I really like how the duet was written out. In All we Were, it started as a young kids taking care of each other and best friends falling in love. All We Are fast forwards to years later as adults trying to mend mistakes and growing up. It has a family dynamic of love and forgiveness. I was able to predict where the story was going within just a few chapters but there were still some surprises for me.

All We Were was an emotional rollercoaster that left me dying to read All We Are. I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen with Lilah and Jimmy.

With that explosive ending in book one that gave a blow to our hearts, this wasn’t as heavy on the angst, but the emotional aspect was in full force.

I loved watching Lilah’s maturity and seeing her strength and growth.
I enjoyed seeing Lilah and Jimmy grow and work through their differences. They have an undeniable chemistry and their interactions were heartwarming. There’s a lot that happens in this story and a lot that could spoil the story, so I don’t want to delve too deep. Lilah and Jimmy’s journey is anything but easy, but it’s beautiful to watch unfold. A beautiful journey of growth, forgiveness, and love.

All We Are, the second book in the Ex Factor Duet, is an emotional rollercoaster! This is the conclusion to All We Were, the story of Jimmy and Lilah, six years into the future. Jimmy needs closure and to do that, he’ll need to show up on Lilah’s doorstep and get answers….answers she’s not expecting to give. This story was not what I was expecting. Where book one was full of angst, this was full of a beautiful love story/slow burn! I won’t say much more so I don’t ruin the story but you definitely need to read the duet!

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, and I devoured it in mere hours. I was riveted, unable to do anything else until I found out what happened. There’s no way to write anything without spoiling something, so just read it. (After you read book one, it’s not a standalone). It was everything you want in a book and then some. The angst, the push and pull, the true love, the other things I can’t say for fear of spoiling it, It’s on my top of list for this year, for sure.

After the ending of All We Were I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book.

I was devastated the way things ended for Jimmy and Lilah in the first book. But in the six years that pass before Jimmy and Lilah come face to face again. Things have change tremendously.

Will they be able to find closure?

Will they be able to move on?

This book was another emotional read and a great ending to the duet.

❤~🌟~❤ 4 “PINKY SWEAR” STARS! ❤~🌟~❤

“She tastes like heaven. Like home.”

Ever since the scream-inducing cliffy at the end of the first installment of the EX-FACTOR duet, co-written by the exceptionally talented Elisabeth Grace and Michelle Lynn, I have been waiting with bated breath for the long-awaited conclusion. And it sure did not disappoint! ALL WE ARE consumed every part of me, put my heart through the wringer and healed it in the most WONDROUS OF WAYS!!

PREMISE:
In book one, ALL WE WERE, I fell irrevocably in love with James “Jimmy” Crawford and Lilah Robbie, two childhood soulmates who had painful upbringings and always yearned for a better life. Together. Then after a horrific turn of events led to them to finally escape their impoverished mountain town, they headed to the bright lights of Hollywood to pursue their dreams.

They might have escaped one nightmare but their topsy turvy relationship became a wild rollercoaster ride of euphoric highs and crushing lows, due in large part to Lilah’s toxic addiction and crazy dysfunctional behavior. And even as Jimmy’s acting career soared, personally his life was far from idyllic because the girl he loved with every beat of his heart was wrestling with demons she could not outrun . Their relationship was ALL KINDS OF TOXIC but nevertheless, Jimmy supported Lilah through thick and thin, doing everything in his power to get her on the road to wellness so he could finally claim her as HIS. And they were SO CLOSE to having it all and riding off into the sunset together. But, alas, a forgivable act of betrayal caused them to crash and burn.

Now in book two, ALL WE ARE, which opens six years later. James career is hotter than ever and his love life is looking mighty fine too. But despite all of his fame and good fortune something—or someone--is still missing. And when he finds himself at Lilah’s front door in Kansas, hoping to find closure once and for all, he is about to receive the surprise of his life. A surprise that not only throws both their lives in more turmoil but intertwines their destinies in ways neither had ever envisioned. Will this unexpected curveball give them both a long awaited second chance at love…or will the dark sins of their past wind up destroying them both forever?

MY MUSINGS:

Gah! After the end of book one where Jimmy finally reached the breaking point and walked away from Lilah for good, I was so invested in the outcome of their romance that I was kind of jumping out of my skin even before I started this second installment. And while ALL WE ARE has a slightly different tone…it doesn’t have the same level of high voltage, full throttle intensity of book one—it was equally compelling!

This brilliantly crafted reunion romance unfolds at a leisurely pace, and the steamy sexual tension percolates at a slower, sweeter burn than last time, but the feelings between Jimmy and Lilah are as deep as ever. Perhaps even more so after all that they have been through. And once again, I felt the full array of feels throughout—joy, anguish, frustration, arousal, uncertainty, trepidation. But…EEEK...there are a whole different set of complications that make surrendering to their feelings even more confounding.

Sob! If any book couple is the embodiment of two tortured lovers, it’s Jimmy and Lilah. Even though they have both matured, they are still kind of a hot mess and despite their best intentions, continue to bring out the best and worst in each other. I loved how the authors played out every angst-ridden beat of their bittersweet love story, paying homage to their tempestuous history which solidified their bond in the present. But confronting their dysfunctional past and trying to wade their way through an emotional landmine together is far from easy. As I mentioned, their love is COMPLICATED!

I loved the growth of both these characters from book one. Lilah has cleaned up her act and forged a new, healthier future far away from the temptations of the noxious Hollywood scene. She literally had to start from ground zero to do so but after all her blood sweat and tears she finally found peace and serenity. But there’s still that glimmer of fear, that aching vulnerability inside of her, that this beautiful new life she’s worked so hard for could implode around her which makes her story so riveting.

Whereas Jimmy, the classic “enabler/fixer,” has finally learned to stand on his own two feet without Lilah, the other half of his soul. And has become the famous Hollywood A-lister that he was always destined to be. But even though he has moved on with his life and has hardened his heart to the woman who destroyed him, deep down beneath the jaded, gorgeously polished veneer is still the kind, generous, fiercely protective best friend that Lilah could always count on. The noble-hearted man she NEVER STOPPED LOVING. (Though not from lack of trying!)

Sighhh…I swooned so hard over Jimmy! This charismatic, devastatingly handsome, achingly tender Hollywood hottie is so dreamilicious he MADE ME MELT! And sweet, loving, headstrong and FEROCIOUSLY BRAVE Lilah sure endeared herself to me as well. This couple undoubtedly have many issues to work through, but I never gave up the hope that their love would conquer all! And while I wish it had not taken them quite so long to reunite, when they finally succumb to their feelings, prepare for FIREWORKS GALORE!

I don’t want to say much more about the plot…but I will divulge that the whirlwind of emotions that I was swept up in really struck a chord ! Jimmy and Lilah’s love never came easy—hurdle after hurdle sure was strewn in their path and the perils of the Hollywood lifestyle continues to be a MAJOR sticking point--but omg what they found together sure was worth the fight!

BOTTOM LINE:
The conclusion of the Ex-Factor Duet is brimming with love, heartache, turmoil, red-hot chemistry and palpable push pull! And like any epic Hollywood love saga that hits the silver screen, the grand denouement of Jimmy and Lilah’s soul burning romance had me BASKING IN GIDDY BLISS! Now I can’t wait to see what this writing duo extraordinaire comes up with next!

Confronting the past and making peace with it sounds like a good plan, even a necessary one when it comes to moving on from a multitude of bad memories, but it’s so much more complicated than most people believe, especially when it comes to the pain and the heartache that people experienced - feelings that may have receded but even dormant, they still can scar and fester like an open wound, which is exactly where Jimmy and Lilah are when the second book in their duet begins.

In order for both of them to move forward…to live their best lives, even if they’re still a bit broken and bent, Lilah and Jimmy need to sort out everything that happened between them due to Lilah’s addiction and the maelstrom of highs and lows that they experienced, both as a couple and individually, forcing them to face hard truths and accept the possibility that everything that’s happened may be too much to overcome.

Oh Lilah…this tortured woman put her heart, Jimmy’s heart, her friends and families’ hearts, and readers’ hearts through the ringer and then some. I raged at her…I cried with her…I cheered for her, and while book two definitely didn’t have the same angst level as book one, it was still incredibly emotional because it was two people trying to figure out if their love was strong enough to let go and love on.

Jimmy…boy is that man something special. Every decision that he made when he was with Lilah and when he finally shut his heart to the girl who owned it were his attempts to not be defined by Lilah’s addiction…to not be the enabler that he seemed to so easily become.

I appreciated the authors’ use of the time lapse. At the end of book one, it was more than clear that Jimmy was truly done dealing with Lilah and her volatile behavior, and I can’t blame him for completely stepping away from that train wreck. So, moving the story line forward quite a few years allows both Lilah and Jimmy to try their best to heal their hearts, minds, and bodies, which means that the fact that book two is quite the slow burn when it comes to any kind of relationship between Lilah and Jimmy makes perfect sense, and even though I was quite anxious for these two to do what needed to be made to start a brand new life together, it’s not that easy, so the way it played out and the major obstacles that needed to be take care of was exactly how it needed to go, even if I was holding my breath the entire way to the conclusion.

The Ex-Factor duet is an emotional journey for everyone involved - it’s one that has no easy answers and one that takes time to get everything sorted due to how deep the characters’ wounds go, both self-inflicted and ones due to other people’s influence and neglect. There’s nothing easy about Jimmy and Lilah’s story, but I think that’s why it makes Lilah getting clean and finding her own way while Jimmy works to make a name for himself without being in Lilah’s shadow is essential for their growth and progress, and I can’t see it written any other way than how Michelle Lynn and Elisabeth Grace penned it, even if I was a nervous wreck for most of book two;)

"There's nothing more awkward than no longer knowing the person you loved the most at one time."

All We Are is the second book in the "Ex-Factor Duet", sequel only to the beautiful All We Were. The book follows Jimmy and Lilah's story where the two are now no longer together, thanks to their separate sets of mistakes and choices. Although the book is in continuation with the first part, it can still be read as a stand-alone, too!

The book starts when Jimmy, who is now James is sitting with his fiance, Adelaide. They are about to get married in a couple of weeks and Adelaide is way too excited about it than she should be. Or at least, that is what Jimmy thinks. She is seeking popularity, too much media and hype while Jimmy just wants to get away from all of this. All he wants is a quiet wedding with a select few but it appears that with Adelaide around, it might not be happening very soon.

That is when, one fine day, he comes across a shot of Lilah on the TV. A bank in Kansas had been robbed and she was there. The photographer didn't get a nice shot but she was there—his Lilah was there. The next few days are spent trying to let go of her while she takes away most of her time. That is when Jimmy decides to hire a PI to find her. He wants to marry Adelaide and he wants to have a fresh start with her. Lilah should not occupy her mind. And so, he seeks answers, he seeks closure. But who could have imagined the crisis Jimmy was getting himself into?

All We Are is an amazingly written book. Following the story of Jimmy and Lilah, it takes us through a rollercoaster ride, showing us different sides and shades of humans. Filled with emotions and feelings, the book shows us how different actions and people can impact us, how even the littlest of actions can result in a catastrophe.

Overall, it was a great read and I rather enjoyed myself going through it. I guess it didn't feel right that Adelaide didn't make her come back once she was gone. I had expected something sinister of her from the way she was being represented. But then, we can't have everything, can we? Haha! So yes, it was a good book and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind reading a little bit of romance.

James “Jimmy” has moved on with his life and is engaged to marry Adelaide, but he needs to put things to rest from his past with Lilah. First, he needs to find her and figure out what happened six years ago to make her betray him. A chance sighting on the news one night gives him the chance to find her and see if he can put everything behind him and have a happy life with Adelaide.

Lilah has moved away from Los Angeles and is living a simple life in Kansas. One scary situation puts her back in the sights of her first and only love Jimmy. She has made mistakes in her life, but now she has straightened herself out and has a good job and a good home. Everything will change though after Jimmy shows up on her doorstep and finds her best kept secret looking back at him.

While most people who read this story may be angry with Lilah for not coming clean with Jimmy, I was the opposite. I was angry and Jimmy. He was the one who told Lilah to get out of his life and never wanted to look back. He wouldn’t give her the chance to explain things to him and she had every right to be scared to come clean with Jimmy.

I was glad that Lilah was able to turn her life around. I like where this book picked up from All We Were. It was done very well, and the story carried through just right. I loved the Epilogue and how far Lilah has come. I really loved the statement that she said she would tell her young self if she could, “If I could tell that little girl anything, it would be to never stop believing. As long as you have hope, you have possibility, and sometimes life will surprise you with what’s possible.” I love this quote and I identify with it. If I didn’t have hope throughout my life, I don’t think it would be as it is now. I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who enjoy reading angsty, young love, second chances, and a love that lasts forever.
