Preacher

Rate this book
Bless me, for I have sinned.

I had impure thoughts—temptations of the flesh. I’ve harbored lust, and for the very last man I should be harboring it for. A man of God, no less.

Except, this man is no angel. He’s no saint. In fact, he might just be the Devil. Only Satan himself could set my very skin on fire, and send shivers and filthy want and carnal desires through my soul. No Godly man would look at me like he wants to devour me whole, or peel my innocence and inhibitions away piece. By. Piece.

He says he’s here in Canaan, Georgia to save our souls. A traveling preacher here to speak the gospel, and deliver us from evil. But a preacher shouldn’t be built for sin, like he is. No shepherd should have lips that make his flock weak, or hands that make me ache, or a body that teaches mine the true meaning of original sin.

Gabriel Marsden is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, and he’s leading me astray. He’s leading me into temptation, and I can’t - and I won’t - say no.

But you already know all this, don’t you, preacher man? You already know every detail of this sordid story. Because that man?

That man is you.

The Devil came down to Georgia. And God help me, I think I’m already lost.

#1 bestselling contemporary romance author Madison Faye is the dirty alter ego of the very wholesome, very normal suburban housewife behind the stories. While she might be a wife, mom, and PTA organizer on the outside, there’s nothing but hot, steamy, and raunchy fantasies brewing right beneath the surface!

Tired of keeping them hidden inside or only having them come out in the bedroom, they’re all here in the form of some wickedly hot stories. Single-minded alpha hero, sinfully taboo relationships, and wildly over-the-top scenarios. If you love it extra dirty, extra hot, and extra naughty, this is the place for you! (Just don’t tell the other PTA members you saw her here…)

Madison Faye has done it again. I just loved her dirty alter ego. I absolutely loved Preacher. Its hot, steamy, with lust, love ,sweet, and drama.

Delilah falls in love with the sexy Traveling preacher, Gabriel. Delilah 18, Innocent. However very smart.
Gabriel smooth talking traveling preacher, con man. Rolls into town and at one of his sermons is instantly attracted to Delilah and the feeling is mutual. Delilah falls fast and deep, she shows Gabriel a whole new world. There will be some twists you didn’t see coming. Of course, those are the best.

why are the good books always the short ones??

if you know me, you know i love me some forbidden romances which is exactly what this story is.
preacher x girl ✅
experienced guy x innocent (ish) girl ✅ (unpopular opinion but..one of my favourite tropes)

also, i honestly did not expect to like this story as much as i did, cause frankly i like the cover but not as much as other books i have read (and yes, i judge books by their covers. sue me.)

the writing was so good in its own way - with great details and dialogue from both MC’s and with just the right amount of problems in the story without being too dramatic, oh and the smut??? top. tier. for a short book which usually have meh type of smut scenes, this one?? so good and very thigh clenching if you ask me.

Madison Faye you are a dirty, dirty, girl and I love you for it! Preacher is Hot with a capital H. This was a pick me up, can’t put you down while fanning myself furiously, kind of read - I absolutely loved it. Gabriel is a smooth talking con man with a heart, of course that heart is buried real deep, but all it takes is one sweet and innocent woman to make him see the error of his ways. Delilah falls hard and fast for the sexy preacher man and has zero regrets - my kind of girl. She changes him for the better and their happily ever after is sweet and sexy. TBR and Enjoy!

I enjoy reading Madisons books this one is forbidden and tabooish, also side note author said "While this book pretty clearly deals with religion, it is not meant to be insulting or disrespectful in any way shape or form." pretty fast pace and steamy.

Gabriel is a preacher or well a conman he's been doing this gig for awhile now and he's enjoying what he's doing. Until this town he meets innocent Delilah who's getting baptized and well shes dangerous to his con plan since he wants to do alot of unholy things to her. And when Delilah finds out his secert she has mixed emotions on what to do. So that's the forbidden-ness but on top of that he is having tiny doubts on what he's doing. But theses two are very sinful ;) and beside that their is some other drama happening in town that is bring both into it and might uncover their sneaky relationship.

Low angst, no om drama tinyOw drama (one chick), No cheating, drama, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore celibate (for a few years)

Four "bless me, for I have sinned" stars ☆☆☆☆

"I want to claim that fucking innocence for my very own. I want to put my hands on every fucking inch of that pure, innocent little body and make her truly see God for the first time."

Whewww, this was a wild, kinky ride! I enjoyed every second of reading it. Gabriel is a con man/preacher who travels to small towns to make money as a preacher. He meets Delilah, a very innocent woman, and BAM. They're totally into each other. This was insta-everything and I loved it.

It's also pretty funny!!

The last thing I need is this girl coming up from her baptism sputtering that the preacher’s got a boner.

safety:
virgin heroine
celibate hero
age gap (18h, 30sH)
no OM/OW
no cheating/sharing

5 Stars!

Madison Faye never fails to disappoint when she's releasing a new book and this might just be her naughtiest yet.

Preacher was a steamy, forbidden, sexy, sweet romance that ticked off all my boxes and left me in a puddle of goo. This innocent girl is about to get mixed up with a bad guy, her new preacher who's in town for a short while and get taken for a unforgettable ride.

I highly recommend this book.

Another great read from the author. I loved the dirty manipulation between, Deliaha and Gabrial, the two main characters, and the dirty, filthy coming between them.
I can't wait for the next book, so I can fall into another great story.

There's something about the forbidden that just makes things overwhelmingly more tempting and Madison Faye brings that to life in "Preacher". He and his brother have been at this for years and become quite proficient at their trade. So much so they've split the United States in half, never crossing over into the other territory. Gabriel uses to "sample the goods" throughout his territory when he first started the gig but after years of trying to outrun the consequences, he's learned to leave the women alone until …. Dahlia had always been a "good" girl, sometimes bordering on pious. When she goes to the revival tent with her father to hear the sermon from the traveling preacher come to town there is visceral chemistry that passes between them. Madison Faye has given us a plethora of words that actually bring all this to life leaving me feeling like I was right there with all of them and, like a voguer, I was watching as all of this took place. What a great read!!

Smut Alert! 🚨 You heard me, there’s some disclaimers ahead. A new release from a fave of mine, Preacher by Madison Faye.

“Bless me, for I have sinned. I had impure thoughts—temptations of the flesh. I've harbored lust, and for the very last man I should be harboring it for. A man of God, no less. WHELP. She went there. Talk about a little bit taboo! Spoiler alert: this book does not disrespect religion. In fact, Gabriel isn’t a real preacher but a devilish con man in disguise. Something our sweet heroine discovers very quickly. (I mean, seriously, his baptismal bath is a hot tub by night) But the little love story that begins to develop between them is hot, hot, HOT! Throw in a little family drama and a big reveal... and you’ve got gold.

I have mixed feelings and couldn’t decide how to rate the book. Preacher was an insta-lust romance between an innocent and religious young girl and a travelling con-artist preacher. The storyline should be quite interesting but there was not a lot of room for development in a novella. The monologue of hero and heroine were a bit wordy with the same reoccurring theme. On the bright side, the sex scenes were 5 stars worthy. They were hot, sexy and electric. It would be enough if the book was pure erotica. However, when the author tried to give the book more content by adding the drama at the end and providing a glimpse of life further down the road with the epilogue, it made the book felt unfinished. I did enjoy the sexy parts of the book. Just quickly skim over the lengthy and somewhat repetitive monologue in the beginning to get to the good stuff.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Oh, well... This book is certainly a style in itself 😂

I think the storyline could have been pretty good and interesting, but the porn-like writing kind of killed it off. That was my mistake though: I thought this book was a dark romance, and I didn’t check the author *facepalm* (In my defence though, it was 2am...).

Well, the story is about Gabriel (the male MC) being a class-A con artist, travelling around the US acting as a mobile preacher to spilfer money from religious lost souls.

Delilah (the female MC) is in a very religious family. Their little town has no church, so they’re very happy to attend Gabriel’s sermons. Delilah is instantly attracted to Gabriel (and him to her), but there’s a lot of inner dialogues and, ‘oh-my-god-I’m-going-to-Hell’ thoughts.

They don’t last long though.

On top of all the porn between Gabriel and Delilah, there’s also additional drama with Paul (Delilah’s brother) which is doing a little scamming of his own...

For a relatively short book, there was quite a few things going on. I repeat, if it had been longer, I think it would have been on to something great... Alas, the shortness and cheap sex scenes let it down.

Somebody remind me next time to double check a book’s blurb and author 😂

Oh wee! Wish I could've left a review RIGHT after I finished reading... It took me a minute to find this book on goodreads. What I felt right after completion compared to now is quite calmer and tamed. I'm grateful to NEVER have run into a preacher like Gabriel Marsden. Every time Delilah blushed, I felt I did as well. This book IS steamy. I wouldn't recommend reading anywhere that's nsfw if you get my drift. If you salivate or can easily become lubricated, please do yourself the favor and prepare for your laundry to pile up fast. It'd be better to read without bottom undergarments 😉. I didn't research for a sequel, but I'd definitely read the next book following! Madison Faye you sure have a dirty mind. Thank you for writing down most of our fantasies! It's like they've been brought to life! Maybe we'll be very lucky and have your work portrayed on screen. I know I would DEFINITELY watch!

This is such a great read - forgive me - but I loved it. Ms. Faye paints a beautiful picture of Gabriel Marsden and Delilah. Gabriel is such a charmer and has had a hard life along with his brother. He goes from town to town preaching about God, using his own words in convincing people to "donate" to his cause - which is himself! However, the moment that Delilah comes into his view, he sees an angel - a very innocent angel and his whole life changes. Delilah is also attracted to Gabriel and I liked how curious she was - once she made up her mind there was no stopping her. There are a few twists and turns in this book - but I more than highly recommend this. I received an arc for an honest review - and I don't lie!

Faye has done it again. Her mind knows no bound when it comes to delivering deliciousness.

Gabriel, a smooth talking *preacher*, comes to a small town to spread the word of the gospel. Delilah, the young virgin, sees past his words of the Lord and wants something more out of her life. The moment their eyes lock, they’re done for. They only see each other.

Gabriel and Delilah offer one another something they need. Gabriel needs the light. Delilah, the dark. The scenes where they are together are truly the work of the devil.

It’s a fast paced read that you won’t be able to put down.

*As stated in Madison’s author note before the story begins, Preacher does not depict religion. The views and statements addressed does not denounce the faith of the Lord and Christianity.*

Filthy as always, milady Faye.
And thanks for reinforcing my preacher/priest kink, which I fully blame on Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Sierra Simone.

Well, I wasn't religious before but after reading this I think I need to find Jesus.

Holy Mary Mother of God, this book is insane!

I haven't read a book this good in ages! I cannot even express how good it is.
It is off the charts 🔥🔥 Gabriel and Delilah are couple goals. I loved these two soooo much! The chemistry and tension between them is so intense from the first moment they meet. That's the only word I can use to describe this book... Intense.

This book is deliciously sinful and oh so wicked it will leave you aching for more.

This was my first book by this author and I'm sure as hell it won't be the last.

If I don't have wicked dreams about this book tonight there is something seriously wrong with me.

It was not like what I expected. I'll have to say out of all the books I've read by Madison, this one is the naughtiest one. ⁣

Gabriel is a traveling preacher to speak about the gospel, but his true self caught me off guard. I was so intrigued. The moment Gabriel and Delilah met, they were immediately attracted to each other. Delilah was an innocent virgin girl that wanted to explore more about life. The more Gabriel spends time with Delilah, he starts to see a different world. ⁣

Do you remember watching TV shows that had traveling preachers? This is one of those stories with one really hot preacher and a very innocent and church-going girl. But we have a twist here and all is not as is seems. Smoldering intense eyes, a ripped body, a Jacuzzi baptismal and sermons to make you repent! Did I also happen to say that this story was smokin' hot? Well, I'm saying it now. If you're down for the stories of sinful Preachers with carnal delights and a happy ending, this is definitely one you won't want to miss. If this type of story is blasphemy to you, then stay way, but you'll be missing out on a treat for sure!

Please note that the author is very clear that this is not a religious story nor is it meant to be disrespectful for those with a Christian belief. In true Madison style, this is an outrageous telling of a con man and the woman who will rock his world. Gabriel is the slick and smooth talking grifter who will use any means to line his pockets and enjoy life. Delilah's innocence and her passion for life makes him fall hard and fast for her. But will their taboo relationship tear apart the family? Will their forbidden love break the bonds of trust?

This book is hot, sexy, and out of this world amazing. A Preacher who is more than he seems and a women who is still a virgin in her prime with wicked thoughts. When they meet both of them feel things they shouldn't. However sometimes faith and God have other plans and these two are about to find out that chemistry is something not to mess with. But when secrets come out who will be there to pick up the pieces? This book was a great read and I love the author and all her books. She was able to bring Preacher into not only a great story, but something desirable.

I must say I really enjoyed this book.

Maddy’s books had for lack of a better word, had gotten a bit “boring” for me recently. I felt like it was the same story just different era or time etc

I guess to some extent this might also be but this for me had better content and character development.

Yes there were a few typos here and there and repetition but Gabriel was a man of the times and as such was very likeable - an honest thief, if you will.

I defo recommend the book and I hope future books continue to be just as good if not better.

Solid 4/5 for me..😈

'Preacher' is the story of Delilah and Gabriel.

A pleasant surprise!

Instead of this being a just taboo story between a preacher and his disciple, this has a pretty engaging plot. Our hero is a conman, whose life changes when he encounters the pretty heroine during her "baptism" as she turns 18. There is forbidden attraction, loads of push and pull, some well written sex with drama and HEA. I really like the contributions from the heroine's family and the hero's brother.

Feel good kink!
