A powerhouse form of vitamin A housed in soothing squalane, the Retinol Serum 0.5% in Squalane (30ml) encourages cell turnover, revealing healthier, softer skin.
This stellar serum works hard to minimise the look of fine lines, dark spots and blemishes, while improving skin texture and tone... and we'd be happy with that, but there's more. Supported by squalane (a moisturising ingredient naturally found in your skin) you can expect your complexion to appear smooth and hydrated, with any dryness that can come with retinol use being reduced. Apply a small amount to the face in the evening, after water serums but before heavier treatments. Do not use with other retinoid treatments and avoid unprotected sun exposure. Store in a cool, dry place.

Visible difference already

Good introduction to retinol
If you've never tried a retinoid before, this is a great beginner product, this is the first retinoid I used, its one of the weaker types, so its not a retinal/retinaldehyde and its much weaker than prescription, plus its in Squalane so you shouldn't really react to it, easy to build up a tolerance. I do find it feels a little greasy, because it's an oil, some people might like that, but I put it under moisturiser. The only thing is the dropper does mean it exposes it to oxidisation, which is fine for this kind of retinol, but I prefer something that seals better. Good starter product.

I love that The Ordinary offers different strengths retinols so you can start gentle, if you’re at the beginning of your retinol journey. I started with the lowest and now I’m using the 1% and absolutely love it. Apply it in the evening and wake up with a glass like skin. Great buy!Â
