About Our Speaker:

Dr. Mark Bauman is a retired professor of history at Atlanta Metropolitan College. He’s studied and written about Southern Jewish History for over four decades. He has edited Southern Jewish History, the annual peer reviewed Journal of the Southern Jewish Historical Society since its inception in 1998. He holds a doctorate from Emory University and taught at the College of William and Mary as a Mason Fellow (2005).  He is the author of A New Vision of Southern Jewish History (University of Alabama Press, 2019) and numerous other works.
