INTERVIEW: Everglaze Talks (And Premieres) New “Shadows”

EverGlaze is a local Houston band and was formed at the end of 2017, by brothers Brandon and Robert Mesarina. Influenced by artists ranging from Spice Girls to Led Zeppelin, they seek to incorporate various styles of music into one cohesive and audibly satisfying sound.

Joined by the flaming fingers of Sam Gomez, the multi-gifted hands of Adrian aka Ian on rhythm guitar and keys, the hard-hitting drums of Brandon aka “Panda”, the ‘so low you feel it in your chest’ bass lines of Robert Mesarina, and the range blasting vocals of Indy; EverGlaze seeks a place in rock history and in the souls of all music lovers.

Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

HEY THERE Thank you for having us we’re doing pretty good, just sad about everything going on in the world and missing playing shows but we’re excited to see where we go from here.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Shadows”?

We feel the lyrics are relevant to the present time with their meaning and we hope you guys see it too.

Did any event, in particular, inspire you to write this song?

Not an event but it came from a place when we were looking inward in a more soul searching type of way; Shifting our perspectives to focus less on the temporal and more on the things that truly matter.

Any plans to release any sort of video for the track?

Why Yes, of course, we have a professional lyric video coming out alongside it thanks to our friends at JKL Productions.

How was the recording and writing process?

It was pretty smooth all throughout the song making progress. We practiced the song out twice before hitting the stage with it for the first time, it was just kind of a natural thing. The recording progress was GREAT, we are lucky to work with both Brian Baker and Travis Street at “Sound Arts Recording Studio” and be mastered by Maor Appelbaum

What role does Houston play in your music?

Houston itself is a melting pot of different cultures and people. Our music reflects that diversity by the different influences you hear in every single one of our songs.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

The new material is definitely coming along great. This time if anything has given us the opportunity to really sit down, write out, and just focus on doing what we need to now to try and succeed without too many distractions.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

For the release date, we are thinking….around same time next month? But as for the title well we’ll just keep that a mystery but so mysterious you’ll make secret theories about it..

Any plans to hit the road?

For now social distancing and being safe is the goal but as soon as the restrictions let off we are looking to hit the world and take all the opportunities that come.

What else is happening next in Everglaze’s world?

More content, new material, more merch, a website, and just trying to earn/achieve that next step that awaits us on our journey
