Chicken Tikka Masala

Ingredients
Chicken
- 1 1/2 pounds chicken breast, chopped into pieces
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup olive oil
Masala
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 6 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tablespoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 2 large tomatoes, peeled and chopped
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
Steps
- Marinate the chicken: In a large bowl, rub the chicken with salt and lemon juice. Add the ginger, garlic, cumin, paprika, chili powder, garam masala, oil and cream.
- Mix well, cover, and refrigerate for 6 hours up to overnight.
