One person dead after head on crash along Seward Highway

One person is dead following a head on collision along the Seward Highway shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

A stretch of highway near milepost 66 was closed to traffic for several hours while the scene was cleared.

According to Alaska State Troopers, another person was airlifted from the scene with serious injuries.

AST is still working on notifying next of kin.
