Posting “certain types” of pictures online is never a good idea. Especially when you’re the star player of your college football team. ⁣
But I did it anyway. ⁣
Never did I think that by posting my pictures online that I would find someone that I would actually be interested in.⁣
But I did.⁣
I saw her pictures, she commented on mine and the conversations were nonstop. She was the girl of my dreams and I wanted to meet her. Who knew that the girl of my dreams was the shy girl that sat next to me all semester. ⁣
Now that I know who she is, I want my shot. Only if she would give it to me. Every chance she gets I get turned down, but I'm not giving up. ⁣
I will show her that she is worth it, even if she may not think so. ⁣

Worth Every Second is a complete standalone, college romance. If you are looking for content warnings pertaining to this book, please visit my website for more information.

A lovely sports college romance read that also dealt with serious issues.

Hunter and Selena were likeable characters and relatable, had a wonderful connection and made a beautiful couple.
Hunter was a great boyfriend to Selena, supporting, loyal, caring, loving and goodhearted.
Selena was a very sweet girl, struggling with body and confidence insecurities.

They were attending the same college and were sharing one course together. Unbeknownst to them, they were exchanging messages through the HEX app, under fake names. HEX was a site where people that were comfortable with their bodies and confident with themselves had balls to put it all out there.

While I liked the banter between them, all those messages slightly tired me because it’s not my cup of tea.

The prologue was very heavy and heartbreaking because it dealt with child sexual abuse (not in full details).
My main issues were that: i) I had to reach 75% of the story in order to be fully informed of the trauma the child had endured from that abuse and ii) there was no information or even indication of what happened to the abusers.

The drama that took place towards the ending, with Hunter’s bitch ex-girlfriend, and the miscommunication that followed between him and Selena were very cliche and didn’t excite me.
Also, I wanted to know more regarding the relationship of Hunter and his father.

College, sports, hidden identity, shy heroine/cocky hero? Say no more I was sold!

I will always be a sucker for a college sports romance idk what it is about them. And I’ll always love the shy girl who keeps her head down and is so utterly confused as the why the cocky, popular jock all of sudden seems interested in her and that’s exactly how Selena and Hunters relationship started. I loved that we saw them in class together, studying together, just building a friendship with one another. I liked the slow burn and how long it took for them to both act on their feelings.

I also loved how on top of them building a real life friendship, they were also building a relationship online with each other which knowing it was the other. The element of HEX and how that played into their relationship was so fun and I think really added a layer of familiarity between the characters. And knowing that eventually they would discover who the other was added such a fun tension to the story.

TW: child sexual abuse
However there was something that felt a bit off to me throughout the story and it was how the book opened and then the complete shift in tone and never mentioning the opening scene, or even really hinting at it, until almost the 70% mark. Selena has experienced some horrible trauma in her childhood which we see in the prologue, but then it is never brought up until very very deep in the book. That felt odd to me and whenever I was swept up in the fun of the story, I would remember the prologue and it then almost felt like two different stories. But when Selena did confront it and how it was brought up and handled by her and Hunter I though that was a great scene! It just took so long to retouch on it that I don’t think it had the power that it could’ve. Added onto the fact that a lot of what happens afterward with Selena’s healing is off page and told to us briefly at the end. I guess I just wish we had gotten more glimpses into how Selena has dealt/hasn’t dealt with her trauma throughout the book as a whole instead of right at the end.

And there is some ✨miscommunication✨ in the third act that always gets under my skin. LIKE JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER.

But overall, this was a pretty good and fun read and I’m glad to have discovered another new to me author.

This book was something more than just an innocent high school romance. It also dealt with more serious questions, but unfortunately for me it didn't avoid some typical high school drama - MEAN GIRLS alias crazy exes 🤦‍♀️, why just why?? 😒

I'm a sucker for pen-pals/ texting (or sexting 😜 )in general, so the plot was entertaining from the very beginning, not to mention - hot!!

Selena and Hunter meet online and involve in sharing some spicy messages, not knowing there are actually future deskmates, and there aren't just "mates" for a long time either.

Two things I did mind though:

1) Long time passing before they communicated the issues - in both cases of the miscommunication / drama it was clear, yet they waited months (!!!!) to reconcile. Not sure I would be that patient being them (horny and all 😋).

2) The "Considerate remarks" in the sexting and thoughts:

"...a long-sleeve school shirt that definitely has have me noticing how it accentuates her chest. It looks like a glorious one. Fuck, what is wrong with me? I need to stop thinking about her in that way. She's not a piece of meat."
You like her tits? OWN IT! Don't apologize for that! 😈😈😈
These careful remarks in his head, or in his messages took so much from the spiciness for me.
I know this cancel culture pushes authors to be careful not to offend anyone, but smut always doesn't go hand in hand with politness.
You can disagree with me, but bottom line is the book could have been much bigger turn-on than it actually was....

Almost 4 stars

I’ve been on a sports romance binge this year so was really intrigued by the whole anonymous/sexting aspect. Overall I did enjoy the book but there were definitely bits I enjoyed more than others. I wish we got more of a push and pull during the lectures/classes I think that would have built even more tension but my bigger issue with this book was I think it should have ended around the 60% mark or maybe been split into two books.
I feel like the Selena’s plot for the last half of the book should have been more prominent in the first half as it kinda felt thrown in for me. If this book was a bit more fleshed out it was have been an amazing read.
Saying all this I did enjoy the book and would recommend as the pen pals / sexting anonymously was quite niche and refreshing! I’d definitely read more by this author

Picture this: being in college, catching your ex girlfriend cheating on you, and then posting spicy pictures online to build confidence which leads you to meeting the love of your life. This is a college sports romance novel with LOTS of angst and heartbreaking traumas! 😭

Hunter and Selena were cute together. The way they communicated through the HEX app makes me nostalgic. I liked the steam 🔥 but I wish some of the issues in this book were fleshed out a bit more. A few things were left hanging. :/ I truly felt for Selena. She suffered so much in her childhood.

Do I recommend this book? Yes, if you like sports romance with mega amounts of heartache. It's extremely well written. I've never read a Jocelyn Soto book before but that needs to change!!

On the night Hunter catches is girlfriend of the last three years cheating on him with his best friend he needs a confidence boost. He finds that online anonymously as HUN4ALL with SENFULL94. They immediately click and become online friends . . . with benefits. He is intrigued and drawn to his SENFULL94 but on his first day of anatomy class he sits next to Selena. He is blown away by her and wants to get to know her more. Selena struggles with confidence issues and uses SENFULL94 as an escape and confidence boost. When she starts talking with HUN4ALL she enjoys their conversations . . . and more but she isn't ready to meet IRL. She is also really struggling with coming to terms with the attention that Hunter keeps giving her. She can't believe her crush is finally seeing her. But what happens when the truth comes out their worlds collide.

This book will be one of my top reads of 2022. I was consumed with Hunter and Selena. Their story is not easy but man is it good. I really was put through all of the emotions - I laughed, I cried tears of joy, of sadness, of heartbreak, my heart was put back together. Hunter and Selena really were amazing. They were two completely relatable characters that I connected to so easily. I loved their journey so much even if my heart broke for them at times. It was such an amazing and perfect journey. This was my first book by this author but it most definitely won't be my last.

I absolutely ADORED these two!!!!! Hunter and Selena were fantastic together! Hunter, comes back to school after football training to witness his girlfriend cheating on him. Just NO! While sorta heartbroken, he does something out of the norm on a phone app, HEX, and "meets" an intriguing person. Message exchanges, back and forth anonymously.........oooohhh mysterious right??? The semester starts, Hunter and Selena share a course together and Hunter is intrigued for sure! There is just something about Selena that calls to him.

Selena is quiet, has insecurities but all triggered by her childhood. Selena was a good character. I loved her confidence, her tenacity, her no nonsense attitude, even her insecurities. What she was feeling and her thoughts, felt like how real life women feels sometimes. Let's talk about Hunter! Swooooon! Hunter was so patient and just so sweet and caring. You really could feel from the pages how deep he fell for his girl. So SWEET!!!! I couldn't put this book down, this was my first JS book and definitely not my last. I just wanted more of these two!

This was a brand-new author for us, and we have to say we really enjoyed our first read by them. We feel in love with both the main characters, as Selena and Hunter made it so easy to do so.

This was a story that was different and unique that it made us love it more. This couple had a lot to unpack throughout the story, some of it good and some not so good but, one thing for sure is, Hunter never wavier it the fact that Selena was truly beautiful to him inside and out.

Loved the playfulness between the characters, the love and their ups and down even their insecurities that played a big part in this couple's story for both parties but, both continued to work through their issues and come out stronger when it was all dealt with.

This was a story that proves love is worth fighting for loved Hunter and Selena as a couple their chemistry awesome and special, and we loved that we got to be part of their journey of finding happiness with one another. Loved it!

Worth Every Second was a book with which Jocelyne Soto hooked me from the beginning, it begins with a very strong prologue that made me experience a lot of feelings and the story unfolds in a perfect way, it's heartbreaking, moving, with important messages and two of the strongest and most incredible characters I've ever read! In addition to the fact that the love story and the plot were the most tender and fun, like its title, this book was worth every second I spend in it.

I think Selena earned the place of my favorite heroine ofthis author very quickly! Not only because she is a very good representation of a Mexican protagonist, but because she has one of the prettiest personalities I have ever read: she is a good student, loving and respectful of her family, a shy girl and a lover of romance novels that also has a flirtatious, seductive and sensual side. She has a tragic story that has led her to withdraw a little into herself, which has created deep insecurities and invisible scars with which Jocelyne Soto addressed a delicate topic, in an excellent way I must add, and that it was very painful to discover throughout the book, but I think that that also helps her readers to see the strong, human and real side of this character. Plus, Selena was a character with whom I could identify one hundred percent, not only because of her cultural heritage, but also because she is a girl who has had to face criticism about her body, weight, and clothing size, and I honestly think this is a topic that can be disastrous if not dealt with properly, but Jocelyne did it perfectly: it shows that Selena's struggle is not plane, she experiences moments of great insecurity and anguish due to her weight, but there are also times when she knows what she is worth, how beautiful she is and she feels good about her body, and it really was a journey that I loved reading about because I really think we need more heroines with diverse bodies in fiction.

And in real life we need more guys like Hunter! I fell in love with him immediately, I loved how the story of this character began and that throughout the book he behaved in a very different way from what romance books have accustomed me to, he is a kind, respectful boy, who he is going through a major existential crisis and he does not resort to violence to solve his problems, he is mature, he knows how to recognize his mistakes, repair them and apologize, is very tender, cute and flirtatious. His family is interesting: he has a tense relationship with his father and one that he wants to recover with his mother and siblings, he is no longer so sure of what he wants from his future too and, surprisingly, the only person with he can show himself as he is is Selena, his new classmate who captures his attention from day one and who he can't help but feel attracted to.

But things between Hunter & Selena don't start in the classroom, without knowing it, both begin to exchange messages and intimate photos with each other, they increase their self-confidence and form a special bond that is also present in their face-to-face interactions. Hunter is the best with Selena: he sees more than her size, he is attracted to her personality, her body too of course, but he wants to meet her, know who she is and make her interested in him too, something that is not very difficult because Selena has been secretly in love with Hunter for years, and when she meets him she discovers that he is nothing that is said on campus, she has the lucky to know his most real, kind, adorable and sensual side, a boy who offers her his unconditional love and support, who is always looking to make her feel comfortable, loved, desired and happy, someone with whom she shares her deepest and most painful secrets, insecurities and that becomes his other half. These two are amazing together, they have a lot to deal with and they were SO much fun to read and a very worthwhile story.

2024: ALC (Advanced Listening Copy)

Worth Every Second will always be one of my favorite stories written by Jocelyne Soto 😍, and that’s why I thought I couldn’t love it anymore, but how wrong I was! 🫠

Everything about Hunter & Selena’s story hits differently when I listen to the amazing narrators Jocelyne chose for this audiobook👏 - the prologue and Selena’s confession about her past were even more heartbreaking 💔, Hunter’s cocky, flirtatious and tender moments melted my heart and made me love him even more 🥹🤤, and without a doubt I enjoyed the exchange of messages and the banter between Hunter & Selena MUCH more from start to finish.

But back to the narrators: Vanessa Vasquez & Wayne Mitchel were perfect for WES 💙, and if Jocelyne chooses them for all her books with Latina heroines, I would be the happiest 🥹 because this duo made even more beautiful, funny and sweet this book👏

And because I know that I’m not the only one who is curious about the spicy scenes 🤭, let me tell you that WES is not Selena’s spiciest book, even though it has many scenes that are SO WELL written🔥👌, BUT in this audio book are ten times hotter 🥵, so that’s always a plus!

That’s why it makes me so happy that my first review of an ALC was about Hunter & Selena, plus, they are characters that will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart 🥹🤧 and Jocelyne is one of my favorite authors! 🩵

🇪🇸

“There is a coldness in the air that I don’t like.
I feel it every time I set foot in this house. Sure, at times love fills it, but the love is always overpowered by the cold.”

I’m a sucker for college/sports romance and this one really hit the mark.
It has its usual narrative of college football star that every girl wants falls in love with the needy, shy curvy Latina. It has a little bit of ”crazy ex” drama… a little relationship drama due to assumptions… and it deals with real life trauma and how it affects the person in his day to day life, their interactions, their relationships, the notion of self.

I loved this book!

“You’re confident on the outside, but how is that working for you on the inside?”

Hunter is very focused on his football career. Partly because he likes it, partly because his stardom obsess Father makes him work overtime to get where he’s.
It’s exactly because of his father that Hunter goes to a training football camp during school vacation, leaving his girlfriend of three years, Jenna, all alone.
Missing her he comes back earlier and finds her cheating with no other than his best friend…

With his ego bruised and in need of a pick me up, he posts a picture of his torso in a online site called HEX.
The picture blows up and thousands upon thousands of comments start to grace his phone. But one stands out from all the rest.

And a beautiful online friendship is born!

“You’ve seen his pictures. A guy that looks like that would never be with someone that looks like me.”
Stella drops my hand and before I know it, she’s taking my face between her hands.
“Listen here, you little shit. Any man should be fucking lucky that you decided to grace them with your presence. If they say otherwise, then they are a bunch of pendejos that don’t know of a good thing when they see it. You are fucking gorgeous, so don’t let a estupido tell you otherwise. Do you understand me?”

I love Selena’s sisters!

This was my first Joyceline Soto’s book. I hope she makes this into a series! I need more.

⇒ Spoiler-free Review:

I read this book in 4 hours. 4 HOURS. Yes, it was that good. This book made me put down my kindle some many times, and all of those were because i needed to take a mental break. But not because it was bad, because it was way too good. It had me grinning like maniac and screaming into my pillow, and i do not regret (well, maybe just a bit) not doing my homework just to continue reading this masterpiece.

The best thing about this book is that it had me fangirling not over one, but two relationships. Yeah sure, they were the same, but they were still very different. On the one hand we have the friendship between Selena and Hunter that had me with a permanent smile on my face and made my poor heart skip not one, nor two, but many beats. On the other hand, the course their relationship took through HEX was quite different. I felt that because of their “anonymity“ they had a whole new level of intimacy, one that had me closing my kindle because sometimes it was to much to handle, not it a bad way, not at all…

However, i do have to say that the ✨ miscommunication ✨ trope kind of annoyed me. It’s just that what happened could’ve been so easily solved… (it’s kind of the whole point of the miscommunication trope, but just humour me).
But I do have to admit that it served its purpose and helped the MC to confront past fears and issues that are pretty hard to face [I’m really proud of you girl, you’ve got this!](TW: child SA).

QUOTES - MAY CONTAIN POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Here I present to you some quotes and moments that made me feel like i had a whole butterfly family — including cousins, aunts and uncles — living inside me (a.k.a. this feeling: 🦋✨🦋✨🦋✨):
→ “I’m not into sharing either way. What’s mine is mine.”
→ “Believe me when I say that I love you and will show you that for as long as you let me be by your side.”

This book is called “Worth Every Second” and for a goddamn good reason. I literally got so many butterflies reading Selena and Hunter’s story, and i absolutely loved it. It was… worth every second.

Hunter and Selena stole my heart, and I gladly handed it over!

Not only was this a great read, Im always so proud when Mexican culture gets written into books no matter how small it is. When Selena said she needed “a concha” to make her feel better I totally got it, I was like me too girl, me too!!

Hunter was the best for Selena. She had so many personal issues and He was the one who made her look at herself differently. Selena made Hunter see there is more to life than what his little bubble had to offer. Together they complimented each other so well.

This story is about forgiveness, loving yourself and moving on. Selena learned to love herself with the Help of Hunter and it was the most beautiful thing to read. Everyone needs a Hunter in their lives.

This was a 5 star read hands down!

3.25/5 stars! I'm conflicted about this story. On the one hand, it has awesome plus size representation or just "normal women have curves and stretch marks" rep. But there were portions were the dialogue was just so unbelievably cringey. "I wanted to squeeze her jugs." like what? The story was cute, but it could have used some editing to make it romance and not erotica, if that makes sense.

Great premise and compelling characters, but a few things about this story turned me off.
Spoilers:
I didn't like how the FMC would completely shut the MMC out and refuse to communicate with him. For WEEKS at a time. Even though they shared a class together. That seemed unrealistic, at best, and, at worst, said horrible things about the FMC's personality. It really dampened my enjoyment of the book because, how can she see this man, who she supposedly loves, three days a week, and NOT try to talk things out with him? When he's trying to get her to open up?
During the first "shut out", the MMC didn't even DO anything to the FMC. They were making out and she freaked out and left. He tried desperately to talk to her in class, but she refuses to utter a word to him. For an entire week! And he did NOTHING to her. I understand it's her insecurities but that's a horrible way to treat someone. By the time they do talk, he'd already come up with his own theory on why she bailed and things take a bad turn. They end up not talking for weeks because the FMC refuses to talk to him AGAIN. And there's another seven week no-contact stretch later on in the book.
I understand the FMC had insecurities due to her past, but I didn't like how her insecurities were portrayed in this book. I found it to be unrealistic due to some of her actions and her inner monologue.
I enjoyed the main character's interactions when they didn't know who each other were but their interactions in person fell a little flat for me. I couldn't figure out why the MMC was interested in the FMC because she, honestly, was unnecessarily rude. I like a FMC who "doesn't take shit", but I don't like one who is unnecessarily rude. The MMC wasn't giving her a hard time or being a jerk when he asked to walk her to her car, so there was no reason for her to give him attitude about it.
On top of all that, I didn't understand why a big deal was made at the end about the FMC following the MMC, no matter where he was drafted. It was brought up multiple times and the FMC expressed she would follow him anywhere. The MMC even talked about finding a graduate school for her in the city they will be in. But then in the epilogue, you find out they lived apart for two years because she, in fact, didn't follow him. I'm not saying she HAD to follow him, but why the grand romantic declarations and discourse about her going with him when he's drafted if she's NOT going to go with him? It just made her character look horrible AGAIN because she didn't follow through on what she said she'd do.
Overall, there were enjoyable parts to this book, but when the most enjoyable parts are when the two main characters are interacting anonymously, that's not good for a romance. Their in-person interactions left a lot to be desired. Despite a lot of the book being about the MMC trying to convince the FMC she was "good enough" to be with him, I felt like the MMC deserved so much better than the FMC.

Selena and Hunter’s story has something I love in romance, “meeting” anonymously online and getting to know each other….and then realizing that you know that same person in real life. I love this!
It’s my weakness.
This is my favorite part of this story.
It was very fun, sexy and entertaining.

There are a couple of serious issues that are in the book. I think they are written in a way that’s not too heavy and they didn’t darken the light, happy parts of the story. Heed trigger warnings, for me it was handled very delicately and mostly off page, though the prologue dives straight into it.

I loved the fiery and sexy banter online between the characters. I loved that Selena could be confident there and I loved that it challenged Hunter in a way that he liked and brought out the best in him.
There’s some pretty lengthy and intense online sexting and a lot of it was hot and spicy for me. I love that kind of sexy and naughty fun.
There is a slight disconnect that happened for me a few times for me with the overt sexuality of the two online and then the lack of it in person. Almost a high school innocence happened and then it switched back to adults being sexual. It was a bit jarring, the flow got disturbed for me.
The story deals with self esteem issues and family pressure.
Selena’s insecurities were portrayed in a very real and relatable way.
I liked Selena’s family and the scenes they were in were fun and entertaining.
Hunter is a boyfriend dream, he’s perfect. Sometimes, I found myself wanting him to mess up. Maybe, because I like them damaged I couldn’t conceive of this wealthy, football star who is very confident as a super nice guy who doesn’t mess up.
He really handled everything so perfectly.
Selena and Hunter have a few big misunderstandings that cause bumps in the relationship. They aren’t dragged out in the story, I did think they were a bit short sighted and immature on one hand and on the other they are in college and self esteem can cause very irrational feelings and behavior.
I would have liked more of Hunter’s struggle with his dad or ex best friend. Something to make him more relatable and easier to connect to and understand.
I think Selena’s story was told and Hunter got a bit less depth.
Overall it’s a fun, sexy and sometimes emotional college romance.

***5 Stars***

I’m not too certain what it was that had me wanting to give this book a try.
The blurb? The cover? The title?
All of the above? I don’t know.
But I do know that this was a great read and am very happy I took a chance on it. And, had it not been for the fact that I started to book while on lunch at work, I would have devoured it in one sitting (Ok, I could have but distractions abound at work).

Selena and Hunter. OMG. I ADORED these two. Simply adored them. They have good hearts and are simply good people, whose outsides don’t necessarily match up with what’s going on inside and they are both still working things out for themselves and figure out what they want their futures to look like.

As for their journey to their HEA. It was just a fun ride. Yes, there things that happen and issues they need to work through, but the two of them were golden together ~ no matter which “them” were interacting. The bantering was on point and I have to say that when they stumbled, they admitted it and did what they could to rectify the situation and get themselves back on track and I loved how it all worked out for them in the end.

This is a new to me author and I really enjoyed the experience. The writing was engaging, the pacing good and I really enjoyed the dual first person POV’s. There are some triggers in here, but I felt like the author handled them with care and respect and they were important to understanding the characters and to their growth throughout the book. As for the supporting cast of characters, I loved Jen, but Selena’s family were awesome! I would love to hang out with them anytime! So, if you’re looking for a fun read full of heart, then this is a must click.

Trigger warner from the author, this does talk about child sexual abuse. Not graphic, but it does talk about it.

Hunter is just coming back from A football training camp to complete his final year of college then hopeful be picked up by a NFL team. But, he catches his girlfriend hooking up with his best friend and teammate. Confidence is down so he takes refuge to build his self confidence back up my anonymously uploading selfie. He gets his thirsty women and mens comments. A couple of nice comments and a large majority I want you baby and lick you down or more pictures so i can stare at them. (LOL, I hope i don't come across like that when i make comments) ANYWAYS, there is one comment from SENFULL94 that isn't overly sexual just a sassy remark "I've seen better." Putting a smile on Hunters face and wanting to get a response from SENFULL94. Which starts their communication with one another. But, as the school year begins Hunter is avoiding his best friend and not talking to his now ex-girlfriend. In his last class for the day Anatomy he finds an empty seat next to a woman with brown hair and beautiful brown eyes. She is shy and doesn't talk in class. But, the professor suggest everyone get their seat mates name and number just in case they need their notes. Hence Hunter meets Selena who happens to be in the same major as him.

Anyways, can Hunter aka HUN4ALL be is true self and not protray himself as an arrogant football player and find out who SENFULL94 is or will he able to get to know his shy classmate that he can't help think about and want to get to know more. And show she is worth every second of his time.

I give this romance 3,5 stars and round it up to four.

I really liked this romance between Selena and Hunter.

It is a college/sports/media/friends-lovers/mental health romance.

Hunter is such a great guy who is the quarterback of the college football team. He is very known around campus and he has been with his girlfriend Jenna for three years. So he is not a player he is a one woman guy. Unfortunately his girlfriend is unfaithful with his best friend. And he has a really difficult time accepting it.

He starts talking and befriends Len over a media called HEX and they kind of start a relationship but at the same time he starts having feelings for Selena who he has some evening classes with. He starts helping her to her car after classes and he makes sure she gets home safe and they become friends too.

Selena is a very quiet woman who hides and has social anxiety and PTSD and she has very low self esteem and especially when it comes to her body. She has a very distorted body image because of some things that happened in her childhood.

She is Mexican-American and she has a big family with her mother and father and four big sisters. I loved that they had such a great relationship and the family quickly fell in love with Hunter too.

I loved Selena and Hunters dynamic together but unfortunately there was to many times Selena runs away from Hunter and blames him for things he can’t do anything about when she won’t talk to him. Her insecurities was at times though to get through and all of this made the book a little too long for my taste.

But I can definitely recommend this book just know that there a triggers for bodyshaming and childabuse which can be though to read.

✨Audiobook Review

🔘Sports romance
🔘Friends to lovers
🔘Secret Identity
🔘Online meet cute

🏈 🏈🏈
The story had an unexpected twist from the very beginning, catching me off guard. I would advise readers to be mindful of potential triggers. However, despite this initial surprise, the plot unfolded in a rather cute manner. We meet the two main characters, Selena and Hunter, who come from contrasting backgrounds but manage to connect online, unaware of each other's true identities. Their online relationship gradually evolves into a flirtatious exchange of pictures, adding a steamy element to the story.

That being said, I have to admit it was underwhelming when the heavier themes touched upon were only glossed over, leaving me seeking closure and justice for the affected parties. Nevertheless, the story takes a lighter turn towards the end, creating a more uplifting atmosphere.

🎧The dual narration by Vanessa Vasquez and Wayne Mitchell is commendable, with both actors bringing their characters to life. My only complaint is that the male narrator's attempt at voicing female characters was a bit bumpy. Overall, if you are a fan of college romance, this audiobook is definitely worth a listen.

Many thanks to Forever & Always PR and the author for providing me with this Advanced Listening Copy (ALC).

Trigger Warning - sexual assault,

Don’t judge this book by the cover (the special edition version is much nicer!)

I was captivated by this story line right from the beginning! I adored the characters, they had depth and beautiful emotional growth during the book, with a lot of maturity. It was a modern day romance in this online world of dating and very relatable in some ways!

Definitely recommend this book if you like college sport romances!

Thank you Forever and Always PR for the ALC of this.

This was a really good sports romance, but the audio may not have been the way to go. The male narrator's female voice was so bad...and he was a little too enthusiastic at times. I could see the positives to this story and I loved Selena and Hunter so I still had a great time with this one and had I read it physically I may have enjoyed it more.

Wow, I was blown away with this story. Hunter and Selena story was remarkable. I really enjoyed this so much. All the banter from the beginning was so good to see. And when things got serious I love how Hunter was there when he needed her. All the ups and down was worth the ending they both deserved.

Really enjoyed this read. First half of the book, to the midpoint, was really exciting and I struggled to put it down. After that, the pacing slowed a bit - but still very enjoyable and I wanted to read on.

This was such a quick read! Usually I go for a book with much more sex and dirt but this was more sweet and hot. There’s a really cute story line throughout and some flirty banter. HEA for sure. I really loved this story and think it ended beautifully.
