JAGUAR NEWS
January 30, 2022
East Families and Students,
Our streak of weeks with a snow day continued this week. Maybe we will get a full week of school before March :).
There is not a ton of new info this week, but we REALLY need your support with our fundraiser for our athletics department. Below is info about the surveys. They take very little time and bring $2 per survey. As of Friday, we had raised over $12,000 for our school. We have a goal of $20,000. Also, we will give away an Oculus Quest 2!
Here is how go win:
35 completed surveys= one entry
75 completed surveys= three entries
WE NEED YOUR HELP! Our athletics department is doing a fundraiser to help our entire athletics program. This is not just for families of athletes to partake. We can use all of the help we can get! It takes a little bit of time and can bring big dollars to our programs. Each survey we complete is worth $2 to our school. If we get every family to complete 5 surveys, that will be $11,000 for our school. That is HUGE! Here are the details:
- Here are the two ways to sign up for the program.
- Text “EJHS” to 90412
- https://bit.ly/HX-EJHS
You can complete up to 75 surveys. Any bit of help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

NTI INSTRUCTIONAL PLAN
- In the event of an NTI (Non-traditional Instruction) Day, students will be expected to complete any work posted by their teachers in Google Classrooms. Teachers will also designate daily online office hours of three hours for phone calls or video conferencing for any student needing assistance. Administration and teachers will work with any students that do not have internet access during NTI and allow them to complete work once they return to school.
GRADUATION
- The Board of Education has set our graduation date for the Class of 2022. We have a primary date and then two back up dates for weather issues. Graduation will take place at the athletic facility as it did for the Class of 2021. We do not know the exact number of tickets yet. However, I feel confident that we will have approximately the same as past years (8 or 9 tickets per graduate).
- Primary Date: May 20, 2022 at 7:30 PM
- First Weather Back Up Date: May 23, 2022 at 7:30 PM
- Second Weather Back Up Date: May 25, 2022 at 7:30 PM
ATHLETIC EVENT TICKETING
- JCS Athletics is cashless this year. We are using the platform GoFan for ticket sales for all middle and high school athletic events. If you plan to attend an athletic event, please use the GoFan mobile app or follow the link posted on the East and West High School athletic websites. In addition, spectators may purchase tickets at the gate using posted QR codes or by using a debit/credit card. Please contact your school's athletic director if you have questions. We would love for you to join us!
PATTERSON INFORMATION STATION
- Parent Survey - Please take a few minutes to complete the Speak Up Survey.
What is a Speak up survey? Purpose of the survey is to inform our technology plan, and Ed Tech initiatives across the district. We will use the data to help district leaders and teachers better understand the student perspective and situation with technology. This will give us a scope of where a teacher may have misconceptions or struggles in technology in hopes to remove barriers for students and teachers inside the classroom. The goal is to leverage technology as a tool as it actually relates to students.
