Fitzwilliam Darcy proposed to Elizabeth Bennet, the woman he loves.
Unfortunately, Darcy’s previous haughty, arrogant behaviour had left her with a profound dislike of him.

The proposal was ham-fisted at best. In reality, profoundly insulting. Elizabeth’s response was volcanic! She let him know exactly what she thought of him.
Darcy handed Elizabeth a letter explaining himself.
Particularly, the reason he despises Elizabeth’s friend Wickham (for trying to elope with his 15 year old sister Georgiana).

Elizabeth is forced to re-evaluate her opinion of Darcy and comes to realise, too late, that she loves him.

The book opens several months later. Elizabeth is packed and ready to leave on holiday, when an express from her aunt details a delay in their trip to Derbyshire.
Suddenly at a loose end, she and her sister walk in to town.

They come across a well dressed teenage girl, left stranded on a trip to Brighton by her thieving maid.

This girl turns out to be Georgiana Darcy who has run away from family to go to Brighton. Wickham also happens to be in Brighton.

Elizabeth decides she must protect Georgiana, so accompanies her on the journey, while secretly contacting Darcy and Fitzwilliam relatives.

The story details their journey, meeting Darcy again and what happens next.

The essential story was enjoyable. Georgiana is a fine example of a teenage girl at the worst age.

Darcy is charming and keen to win Elizabeth’s heart.

The steamy sections were well done, although why you would take liberties in a carriage, when your enormous bed is less than a mile away mystifies me

Worth reading.

Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth come together to deal with bratty Georgiana.

Such a lovely story! It is three months after the Hunsford debacle, and Elizabeth has been feeling bad that she had misjudged Mr. Darcy, with no chance to apologize to him. He had also been unhappy and wondering if he could have a second chance with Elizabeth, to convince her to marry him after all. Throughout the story, this aspect swirls around them, in with all the other happenings.

Elizabeth finds Georgiana at the Meryton post station, where she has been abandoned by her maid, who also stole all of her money and possessions. She says she is going to Brighton to meet her brother. Elizabeth contrives to hire a coach and travel with her. They have to make a stop in London, so Elizabeth writes a letter to Lady Matlock explaining what happened. Mr. Darcy and Colonel Fitzwilliam travel to Brighton to find them.

Once they all get to Brighton, Bingley happens to be there with his cousin Perry, who loves Georgiana, but knows she is too young to court. However, Georgiana convinces him to run away with her. They don't get far. Meanwhile Darcy and Elizabeth ride alone together to chase them and come to an understanding for an engagement, with a wedding as soon as a special license is obtained.

Darcy and Elizabeth convince Georgiana and Perry that they can be engaged but not married yet. After the wedding of Darcy and Elizabeth (with a small interruption from Lady Catherine), they have some nice sexy times at Darcy House.

I wasn't enamored of this versions of Georgiana, she was a real spoiled brat. I would have liked to see a bit of her improved character. In the Epilogue, which takes place a couple years later, at Georgiana and Perry's wedding; Darcy is happy that they agreed to the long engagement, and all is well.

I recommend this book! It is well-written and edited; I did not notice any glaring errors.

Elizabeth intercepts Georgiana in the middle of another elopemen

This story is set post -Hunsford, pre-Pemberley encounter. Georgiana is traveling to Brighton when her maid absconds with her money and leaves Georgiana stranded at an inn. Elizabeth fears for her safety and persuades her to let her accompany her. Georgiana doesn't know she knows Darcy or that Lizzy has sent urgent letters to alert Georgiana's family. When Darcy and the Colonel reach Brighton it's a chance for Elizabeth and Darcy to mend their fences.

This novella is quite lovely, well written and romantic, not very long. Our dear couple needs only a few conversations to figure out they both want the same thing. Georgiana's choice was a bit surprising. Steam level: The last chapters contain several scenes of married sex. There are some original characters.

Months after turning down Mr. Darcy's marriage proposal, a repentant Elizabeth Bennett accidentally meets Georgiana Darcy, on her way to Brighton for what she deduces is to elope with Mr. Wickham.
Hoping to protect the teenager and prevent further suffering for Mr. Darcy, she hides her true identity and offers to accompany her to her final destination, while trying to warn her family so they can rescue her.
Lady Matlock manages to warn Colonel Fitzwilliam and Mr. Darcy, who are heading to Brighton.
There, they find not only Elizabeth and Georgiana, but also Lydia Bennett, the Fosters and Mr. Bingley, and two of their cousins.
Darcy decides that he must try one more time to win Elizabeth's heart.
All is not what it seems and Georgiana runs away once again, but not with Wickham.
When trying to chase the carriage Georgiana is in, during Elizabeth is again proposed in marriage and the first intimate moments of the couple begin, which are shown in different situations.
Despite the passion existing between the couple and exemplified at different times in the book, it was a little strange that the newlyweds preferred the discomfort of the carriage, when they could go home quickly in the first moments alone.
I didn't realize the twist in the middle of the story until it had already happened.

In this variation, Elizabeth went to Brighton and there she met Mr. Darcy again. Both were trying to prevent an "unexpected" elopement.(This incident happened after the failed proposal at Rosings).

I thought Elizabeth was briliant to come up with such a plan and the letters she dispatched. I thought the two were too complacent towards the end that put them in such a situation but I think it worked to Mr. Darcy's advantage. There were steamy/explicit scenes towards the end (thus for mature readers only). But I appreciate the author for making ODC wait until it was blessed/sanctioned.

2.5* rounded up to 3*

A nice plot idea with a cunning twist but not the best execution. The language is rather too modern and there are some editing and grammar errors.

A well written Pride and Prejudice Variation. Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet have a misunderstanding on her part. Elizabeth finds Georgiana at the Meryton post station, where she has beeen robbed by her maid, Elizabeth travels to Brighton with Georgiana. Elizabeth has sent a message to Darcy to meet them there. This P&P has a different twist to it. We still have Lady Catherine and her daughter Anne de Bourgh trying to cause trouble. The story is well written and I enjoyed reading. Elizabeth Bennet stumbles across Georgina Darcy making her way without a chaperon. Concerned about the girl's tale, she decides to join her to help deliver her to safety. This is a nice read, but a lot of out of character behaviour. Georgina Darcy comes across as incredibly spoilt, but the relationship between Elizabeth Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy is sweet. 3.5/5 stars

SPOILER ALERT! When caught together in a small cabin during a snow storm, ODC is forced to review their prejudices, and end up in the only bed available. Things progress to the point of impropriety but Lizzy's virtue remains intact (though bodily fluids are left behind. Darcy wants to marry right away, but Lizzy wants to wait until she can't anymore. A little short, but an enjoyable sexy story.

This the perfect book for Darcy and Elizabeth fans who want to read about their passionate, intimate time together! This book is a short, fun look at our dear couple as they are reunited to protect an immature and reckless Georgianna from herself. While sorting things out with Georgianna, Darcy and Elizabeth navigate their own feelings for each other. A really steamy read, so may not be appropriate for all readers. I, however, enjoyed it very much!

Imagining Georgiana it’s such a different light brought a unique twist to the story. It was nice to see many familiar characters and situations although in a slightly different light. The extra level of romance extending into the epilogue was very satisfying indeed.

Fantastic, interesting, emotional

I found this to be fantastically emotional. I was surprised how Darcy followed Caroline, but this was an interesting idea. Glad that Caroline got hers in the end. Darcy and Elizabeth found each other even though they went through lots of issues. Charlotte was incredible. Recommended for mature readers.

This was a quick read after a busy, stressful day at work.

I have an issue with a somewhat minor thing and it was Elizabeth continuing to call her husband "Darcy" - that isn't his first name. Yes, in company, she would refer to him as Mr. Darcy but definitely, not in private. She would call her husband by his given name or shorten it as Georgiana did to Will.

lovely

I really enjoyed this story, it had a little adventure and a little surprise. I would recommend this story to anyone who needs a happy ending on a trying day or just any day.

Not my favourite variation. I found some of the characters behaviour a little reaching but overall I enjoyed the story.

This was fun and featured a very clever Elizabeth and I enjoyed a bit more critical view of Georgiana’s choices.
