iOS 14 starts rolling out from today globally. On Tuesday, Tim Cook concluded a keynote that the iOS 14 update would be rolled out and available for the compatible devices from 16 September. Tim Cook also announced that apart from iOS 14, iPadOS 14, tvOS 14 & watchOS 7 would also be rolled out for the compatible devices. 

The Apple virtual event that held on Tuesday mainly focused on the two major products- the iPad & the Apple Watch. With all these, the CEO of Apple also announced that the iOS 14 is going to released on the 16 September. This means for the iPhone users will receive the update for the iOS 13 & iOS 14. Release time in India

The iOS will be available in India on 17 September. The latest iOS and iPad updates will be rolled out gradually and the compatible devices will get the alert of the OS update. Before updating your phones make sure it is charged enough and have enough wifi because the update size is approx 4 GB and it can vary depending on the devices.

What is new in the iOS 14

After using the developers’ preview, there is no doubt that iOS has gone through the massive changes that include Siri. Siri also received a late but refresh and indeed a good one. 

The home screen of the new update also gets a new look where an App library is given so users can easily find the app they are looking for. Widgets also get an update and show in different sizes and shape now users can easily add the widgets to the home screen like weather, stocks, note app, and many more.

Picture-in-Picture is the new feature that is coming in iOS 14, this is an iPad feature, when users close the youtube app while watching the video, the picture-in-picture will pop up. 

Messages is one of the favorite apps of the iPhones also get a major change in which users can pin the message at the top easily, in fact also bring a host of updates to group messages. From the new update, Siri will not take up the whole screen, it will only pop up at the bottom of the screen. Phone calls will also appear at the top of the screen which means the work you are doing won’t get affected. 

Privacy is in the core of the iOS 14 update, users will see the orange and green light at the top of the screen if any app uses the camera and mic of the device.

How to install the Update

For updating your existing iOS with the new update here are the steps you need to follow

• Open the Settings
• Click on the General
• Click on the Software Update
• After clicking on the Software Update, your iPhone will automatically connect to the server of the Apple to check for the latest update.
• After getting update information follow the given instructions and let the device reboot and after all this your device will run on the iOS 14.
