Don't let her mousy appearance fool you... McKenna Byrne is fire. Hot-tempered. Passionate. All-consuming. She seared my soul from our very first kiss.
Once, she wanted a chance at independence. A life away from the Clan.
Then danger threw us back together, And when McKenna and I collide... We ignite. Now I'm forced to claim her. To make her a full-fledged woman of the Clan. She might fight me tooth and nail, But we both love a challenge.
This time, there'll be no escape for either of us. This time, we'll burn...
Fueled by dark chocolate and even darker coffee, USA Today bestselling author Jane Henry writes what she loves to read – character-driven, unputdownable romance featuring dominant alpha males and the powerful heroines who bring them to their knees. She’s believed in the power of love and romance since Belle won over the beast, and finally decided to write love stories of her own.
'll be honest guys I tried so hard to keep going.. but McKenna I think I found someone I dislike more then that reporter chick in this series. Tully deserved wayyyy better then her.. McKenna didn't want to be apart of the clan but she works for them.. like? If you dislike what the clan why even look at Tully in that way. Why have any relationship with him...She annoyed me more with the push/pull bs.. because she didn't like being dominant outside the bedroom.. And Tully poor dude was always "her" i just wish she was all him.. if she pulled away once okay fine.. but I got tired of the games she played. :/
I gave it a star because I do like the silver hair daddy ;)

I know there has been a lot of talk about how McKenna was very unlikable. I have to admit it was hard to like her but she eventually she grew on me. I mean she did help Tully out of a few desperate situations.
I did cry quite a few times while reading Tully's story.
Overall I think Tully is my favorite in this series.
What a roll a coaster ride. McKenna for some reason always wants to fight and argue with Tully. She said “when I’m with him, the unsettled feeling of my heart’s at rest. I feel safe and vulnerable.” This book is full of excitement, war, sexual scenes, and Maeve telling more of her past. Tully and McKenna’s romance is very up and down but love will win. I cannot tell you any more about this book, because I want you to feel all the emotions I had while reading it. You will laugh, cry and be happy. Enjoy this wonderful book.
I really enjoyed this story, plenty of action and twists and plots to keep your interest. My one gripe is the typo errors that detract from the storyline. Maybe a team of beta readers would help?
Absolutely Brilliant!!! These books are Action Filled, Steamy Irish Alpha Filled Brilliance!!! There are so many twists and turns and you just don't want the book to end 5* Easy!!!

Tully A Dark Irish Mafia Romance (Dangerous Doms) By: Jane Henry Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
Jane Henry always impresses me with her gift of writing and creating stories, she is a master at creating Mafia romance novels building a mafia world like no other and drawing me in to that world and making me want to be a part of it. She has a way of making you fall in love with each and every one of her lead characters, bringing out the good in even the baddest of them all. But are the McCarthy clan really all that bad, the people of Ballyhock do not think so, but the rival families from the north do and they cause trouble for the clan and bring danger close to home. This is book is Tully and McKenna’s story, he has been a clan member, a McCarthy by oath rather than blood but considered a brother just the same. McKenna is a school teacher at their academy, she and Tully have an on and off relationship, both love their kink and cat and mouse games. He may want more but she does not want to commit to the clan, her late father was a member but her mother has nothing good to say about it. But there is a lot more to the mother that McKenna never knew. Wow, Tully and McKenna have such a tumultuous relationship, she fought him every step of the way and it takes her a long time to open her eyes to see what is in front of her and what she could really have if she just allowed herself to. I loved how everything played out in this book, like all of Jane Henry books the story is cleverly plotted with complex storylines that are captivating from start to end. There is plenty of drama, angst, action twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and a hot romance. It was great to see the other clan members appear in this book, the clan suffers a heartbreaking loss but they stand strong, it was also great to see that they got support from outside their gates. Superbly done Jane Henry, thank you for another awesome novel in this amazing series.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross’ talent truly shines in this book and the entire series. They have a complete understanding of all the characters and play each role accordingly and with perfection. Their performance enhances an already awesome story to another level of awesomeness. These two mega talented narrators are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen.
Tully and McKenna are like fire and ice. Maybe like two magnets. One minute they come together with such force there's no prying them apart and the slightest provocation can make them polar opposites repelling from each other. Oh, but the chemistry between these two is a force to be reckoned with. 'Tully' is almost as old as Maeve, the matriarch of the clan. He's not blood-related but has been one of the boys all these decades. With so much going on between our hero and heroine in this storyline AND the obstacles the clan faces, this has been an adrenaline racing book. This is fast-paced, page-turning, nail-biting at times and I wouldn't change a word of any of it. I feel like a fickle girlfriend, but Tully is my new favorite man and McKenna has all the spirit, backbone, and intelligence to be my favorite heroine.
DNF 19%. This series keeps popping up everywhere I look, in theory it fits all the categories I prefer. I keep trying this series and have only finished 1 (Carson) out of the 7.
The first book (Keenan) was just too....creepy for me. The second book (Cormac) is where I drew the line. Cormac is where you started to connect the dots that these men aren't into "punishment", they're into hitting just for hitting.
All these mafia men and their wives & children all live together and they're called "The Clan". I don't know why they weren't just called "The Cult"? A place where the men "take care of" their women, as long as the women submit themselves fully. Meaning, these women need their man's permission to eat sometimes. 🙄
This book, Tully & McKenna.....They had the makings of being a decent pair up. Buttttttt, they're on again/off again.....(gross). I will admit, good for McKenna trying to stand up for herself and have an actual backbone unlike all the other women. But I couldn't continue to read and watch her spirit broken and submitted.
Out of ALL the bdsm, mafia, controlling, asshole books I read....this series is WAY too over the top for me.
Tully is the last of the Dangerous Doms series and I want to say it was my favorite but it wasn't. The cover is one of my favs though.
I LOVE Tully. He is so yummy and I wanted to just eat him right up. But I had an issue with McKenna. She was just too wishy-washy for me. So here is a woman that is treated like GOLD. Tully gives her pretty much everything she wants including hot amazing sex. But because she feels that being HIS woman would make her LESS than she chooses to keep walking away from him. Tully has a heart of gold and shows it over and over to her but she steps over him again and again.
I love how Jane writes her woman to be strong. I have never had a problem with them at least none that I can remember. But with McKenna, she just mistreated Tully too much for me. He needed a strong woman that treated him a lot better than McKenna did.
Their relationship is on and off, but this time McKenna pushed Tully to far and now he had her with him at the mansion, McKenna may be a schoolteacher but Tully knew exactly who she was, she was his bad girl, until big trouble reared its head and for some reason McKenna was top of the hit list along with the McCarthy's. I am moving to Ireland the men of Ballynock are homegrown gods and really do worship their women. Once I read the first book of this series I was hooked as the men of the clan have the gift, wow loved it. I voluntarily reviewed this book.
I have loved every book in this series and was so happy to see Tully get his story and his woman. McKenna was a complicated character and at times, I just wanted to smack her but she is one fierce lady. They both love to play and while she keeps saying she doesn't want to be a member of the Clan, I can tell she longs for the feel of family like she sees the other couples have. Of course there is a lot of action, danger, mystery, intrigue and betrayal but when things come to a head, McKenna is right there. There were some sad moments that I didn't see coming and that made me tear up just a bit. From the first book to this book, it's easy to see how all the "brothers" have grown into their roles in the family. Maeve is probably one of my favorites and I admire how she holds up to everything that happens around her. This is suppose to be the last book in this series but maybe Ms. Henry will give her readers a bit more or maybe another spin off. I love my Irish Mafia men!!!!
As always, Jane Henry’s writing sucked me right back into this family and the shores of Ireland. From the first book Tully intrigued me (you do not HAVE to read the prior books, but believe me you WANT to). Tully is one of the inner circle of the family and has finally found is girl! I was so excited to meet McKenna and see how Tully loved her. Unfortunately McKenna is not my favorite of the McCarthy women. She loves Tully but for so much of the book, refused to let Tully love her. By the time she finally let her heart have what it wanted, I really didn’t like her very well and was almost rooting for Tully to find another. Thankfully Tully never gave up on her.
Overall great book! Definitely recommend, but be warned McKenna is not super like able, like the other McCarthy women are.
Hope to read Boner’s story next!

Tully is an enforcer for the Clan and he his ibsessed with McKenna. Mckenna is a teacher at the Clan's school, she is fiercely independant, smart, sassy in a nerdy kind of way and doesn't want belong to a man of the Clan. Their journey to an HEA is full of surprises, danger and suspense. They will have to fight together to keep the family safe as danger looms around the corner and a person from her past wants to harm McKenna and the McCarthy's. A tragic loss will uncover past indiscretions that will come knocking at their door and Maeve will have to come clean on her life before Seamus. I can't wait to read what's next with this tight knit group and I honestly volunteered to review this story. Jane Henry you have another winner on your hands!!!!
Arrogant, that's what McKenna thinks of Tully, they are fire and gas, they don't mix. Still warring Clans, with weakness exposed, lots of suspense and wayward school boys. Tully sets out to reign in McKenna as he knows what he wants and he wants McKenna. It takes a bit more time for McKenna to come to that conclusion, but in the meantime Tully's description of McKenna is "fierce". My favourite line "the two of us, a beautiful synchronicity of two hearts joined as one", as well as "family isn't always related by blood". I thoroughly enjoyed this series, I loved it.
If I was able to join a Clan I would want to be a man like Tully's claim. There is just something about an older man that makes being an alpha hot. They have the dedication to their claim that makes your heart beat faster and your hormones kick in. Tully's story was just what I needed. He is my fave of the Clan. He is not only the alpha lover, but he is the protector.
One thing I can usually say, Ms. Jane Henry rarely disappoints with her writing, bigger than life characters, and scenarios. What a sixth great story to this series, Dangerous Doms, and with it, you have the good, the bad, and the ugly. The story keeps the pages turning with a powerful, dominant man, Tully, and a history teacher at St. Albert’s, McKenna Sweeney.
Tully has been with the McCarthy clan for many years, watching the lads grow into men, seeing the death of Seamus and the changing of hands to Keenan. He has been friends with Maeve for years. His loyalty is deep. He also has a passion for McKenna—they are a volatile couple, like fire and ice, but something he can’t ignore. When they do get together, the chemistry is strong, the sex is amazing, but then there is the fighting.
“We’re fire and ice, McKenna and me, and we push each other away with finality, only to ignite when we reunite. But not again. I’m done playing games.”
McKenna Byrne is a strong-willed, independent woman who doesn’t like to be told what to do outside of a sexual situation. To be dominated and controlled during sex, the spankings, bondage, it all works, but don’t tell her what to do any other time.
The plot will begin with a meeting, but McKenna will escape once again but not for long. Things are amiss, and the clan is called in for a meeting—and McKenna will be brought into their protection—but is that what she wants? The story is full of angst, danger, mystery, suspense, and life and death. It will have Tully pulled in several directions, one as a loyal member of the clan and the other wanting to claim and protect McKenna. They will be challenged when deceit and danger from outside threaten McKenna and the McCarthy’s. It is hard to learn that someone you should trust is involved—and outside clans are waging war. Then there is the war between Tully and McKenna, two people who are drawn to each other, are in love with each other, and must face more than one crisis together. During the rough moments, they learn what is important and who you can truly count on.
“If you run, I’ll catch you. If you hide, I’ll find you.” I kiss her cheek. “and if you’re afraid, I’ll slay your demons.”
“The only that that’s changed—is me. For some reason, I thought that allowing myself to be a member of the Clan; I’d lose a part of myself. But instead—I’ve found myself. I’ve found family. I’ve found friends. I’ve found strength and courage I never knew I had.”

This is a simply amazing continuation to this wonderful series This is a wonderful story continuation with the characters Tully who is one of the McCarthy Clan and the woman that he has been attracted to for some time and she is McKenna and she is quite the fire brand with a temper that is as fiery as ger nature and a capacity for loving as hot as the very sun itself but Tully has never wanted a woman until now!! As the McCarthy Clan mansion comes under attack one night whilst Tully and McKenna are enjoying each other at the local BDSM club that the men like to use, on the way back to his home they notice that they are being tailed by six riders on motorcycles and then they see the smoke emanating from the clan mansion, all hell has broken loose and Tully knows that he has to help his brothers. When a few new factors about the group that have been attacking the clan come to their very front door Tully is amazed to see a woman that has come to them for help whose name is Mary and she is the spitting image of his girl McKenna, it seems that they may in fact be related. As the story continues to unwind and Tully and Mckenna’s relationship continues to strengthen it seems that they are more ideally suited than she realised however, the life she had growing up has not been easy and she has worked hard to attain her current life and loves her job teaching it is very important to her. This is a truly wonderful read and you will be blown away by this next chapter of the book it is so very well written and there is nothing that you can possibly imagine, it will leave you full of surprises and as always waiting for future books in this simply wonderful series. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Tully A Dark Irish Mafia Romance (Dangerous Doms) By: Jane Henry Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
Is it the story? Is it the narration? I think it's both! The team of Jane Henry and Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross has been keeping me thoroughly entertained through all 7 of the Dangerous Doms series! Each clan member original and different from the last, the stories are exciting and hot! McKenna is a teacher for the Clan's school, and though attracted to Tully, does not want to be a claimed woman. Tully is enforcer. Not a McCarthy by blood, he has been with them forever and the Clan is his family. His attraction to McKenna is bordering on obsession, and the push pull between this couple is palpable. The explosive chemistry, the fierce banter and the sensual scenes prove that. But love is not the problem. Danger is lurking, and Tully will do whatever it takes to keep McKenna safe. Will it be enough? Let's talk McKenna. While she is definitely a feisty heroine, you can feel the pull she has to Tully. Even when she is being difficult, the feelings are evident. Tully is the kind of protector we can only dream of. Passionate, compassionate and willing to fulfill any want McKenna has, it's impossible not to fall of the his man. And hard! It's everything in a book I love. Steam, true love, family, and suspense all wrapped up in a Celtic knot! Love this one!
Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross continue their narration of this series and I am loving them! Their Irish accents are spot on, and their vision of the characters comes through with their narration. I loved it!
I have loved every book in this series, but Tully and McKenna will always hold a special place in my heart. I related to McKenna more than I have related to the other characters in this series, and the way Tully handles her is perfect. She is such a contradiction and her actions don't always make rational sense, and I know exactly where she's coming from. Her past has made her afraid of trusting and depending on people. She goes out of her way to push Tully away even though she wants him. Her need to be independent goes to the extreme and seems to be counterproductive to the things that make her happy - like being with Tully. He has to fight a lot harder than any of the other men in the Clan to prove that he's strong enough and cares enough for McKenna. She doesn't trust his words, or deeds for that matter, and that makes their eventual HEA all the more beautiful.
Along with this amazing love story is the danger that The Clan has been in since the beginning of the story. It all boils to a head in this one. The danger, suspense, and intrigue are all taken up a level and that alone will keep you glued to the pages of this one. All the questions do get answered, though, and the ending left me both sad that it was over and pleased with the conclusion.
This is one of those series that must be read in order, even though each book is mostly it's own story, and I highly recommend it.
I liked this book but it took me about 3/4 of the book to warm up to Megan. I thought she was very self-centered and at the same time wishy-washy. I found her self-centered because she never thought about how her actions affected others. When she left a room Tully had left her in, he called out the rest of the clan to look for her(thinking she had been taken) and even when she is told this, just continues on with her original plan. Really did not like her at that point and that was in the beginning of the book.
I know the blurb describes her as fierce and feisty, and while some of that was true, she also could not seem to make up her mind if she wanted Tully or not. I found that really annoying.
She knew the whole time that he was with the Irish mob, worked at the school where they groomed future members to be faithful brothers of the clan, was raised by a(deceased) stepfather in the clan and went to the kink club they frequented yet still asked herself, "Do I want to be part of this life". What the hell, she is part of the life.****Possible spoilers***
I gave this book 4 stars because it is well written but it is not one I will read again, as I have others in this series. There is also a death that I did not expect or like in the story. Perhaps the author did that to make the story more realistic but I read to escape. I don't want characters that have been in all the books to be killed off. If I want realism, I will watch the news.
Tully is book 7 of the Dangerous Doms series by Jane Henry. You can read it as a stand-alone, but you may appreciate it on more levels if you’re a little bit familiar with the series. In this book you get to see a lot of characters from previous books in the series, which is always a fun thing. This is a mafia romance, and that is made clear before you buy the book, so don’t be surprised when members of the mafia involved - the McCarthy Clan – engage in violent activity. They are a well-organized and established group, with their own school, church, and close ties to the local community. They are involved in nefarious activity, but they live by their own strict code of honor and morality.
Tully is a respected and feared enforcer for The Clan, and a senior member of the group. His life has been devoted to the organization and he never thought he would have a woman at his side with any permanence. Tully is sexy, protective, and powerful. McKenna is a quiet teacher at the school owned by The Clan and she thinks she has a good understanding of what it’s all about – enough to know that she wants nothing to do with the group outside of her job. She is strong and independent, fierce in her passion and her opinions. Tully and McKenna each have a side that they only show to one another; he is kind-hearted when it comes to her, and she loves to get kinky with him.
McKenna and Tully have a complicated on-again off-again connection. They’re not in some traditional committed relationship but yet they can’t resist one another. The twists and turns in this story make everything change between them, and also involves some big changes for The Clan. I thought this was a powerful finish to this series, and it gives us a very tempting lead into the next one that this author
What an incredible way to end the McCarthy Clan series! This was such an epic series and one I couldn’t put down. From one book to the next I was hooked and enjoyed each and every one of them. I wasn’t expecting to like Tully as much as I did, but I ended up loving him. This man has many faces, he’s aggressive and deadly, but also caring and gentle and he’s got a very devious and dominant side to him in the bedroom! He’s got such a huge heart and I have no words to fully describe him. He’s truly perfect. There were times in this book I felt so bad for him. I felt he was doing absolutely everything to keep McKenna safe and all she did was give him grief and pout like a spoiled child. I had a really hard time liking her, and even though in the end she finally came around, I still didn’t really like her because of how she acted throughout the entire book. All she wanted to do fight and argue with Tully, she’d pull him in and then push him away again. I didn’t like that all, Tully definitely didn’t deserve that. One of the things I enjoyed most about this series was the camaraderie between the brothers and the women. I loved the family dynamic. And of course Mauve! She was the true queen and inspiration. The way she cared for and loved her family was the best!
Tully and McKenna have been in an on-again/off-again relationship for a while now and Tully seems to finally be ready to take her back for himself. But McKenna seems to be fighting him every step off the way. When some trouble seems to arise with the Scots, McKenna can’t hide from Tully anymore, how will she keep away now?
I loved Tully, he was protective, knew exactly what he wanted and might be one of my favorites.
McKenna I had a love/hate relationship with. She seemed to truly fight the idea of being with Tully at times, which would be fine, but she seemed to be flipflopping between wanting to be with Tully more permanently and wanting nothing to do with him anymore so quickly I found it hard to keep up. I would’ve loved a little more explanation as to why she seemed to be so against it at times, just to understand her a little better.
All of that didn’t take away from the story though. It’s high-paced, interesting plotline with rivals and we got a bit of insight into the past of the clan as well as Maeve.
Highly recommend this book and this whole series while you’re at it
So can I just start by saying that I love the the main character is such a strong and independent woman!!
This story follows McKenna and Tully’s relationship with McKenna being a teacher and Tully being a very high ranked member of the Irish Mafia
McKenna and Tully’s relationship is very off again on again but that all comes to a hault when McKenna witnesses too much and is then placed under the protection of the McCarthy Clan.
She doesn’t want it. She doesn’t want to feel like a prisoner, doesn’t want to give up her job and certainly doesn’t want to be told what to do by a domineering caveman.
We see McKenna struggle with her inner turmoil whilst she’s figuring out who she is and what it is that is between her and Tully.
McKenna’s life turns out to be at risk as Tully and the Clan go to war.
It’s intriguing seeing whether these two continue pushing each other away or will they realise what has always been in front of them and unite and help to save everyone around them?
**I will warn, there is a particular situation within the book that is very sensitive especially towards a woman and can be a trigger. **
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This book is filled with love & family. As always the McCarthy Clan is filled with alpha dominating men and the amazingly strong women who love them. This is no more true than for Tully & McKenna! McKenna is teaching the future boys of The Clan but she isn’t sure if she wants or can let herself become a claimed woman. She loves and needs Tully but she is scared to make that leap & give herself fully to him. Tully will stop at nothing to keep McKenna safe and to claim her as his own. They have been on and off again for too long and he is done waiting and will stop at nothing to make her his! This book is filled with dominating love scenes and some very romantic moments between all the member of The Clan.
There is always enemies lurching around so they must be ready for anything. There are some powerful moments in this book and some will bring you to tears and have you weeping for joy as well. This is another amazing book to a wonderful series. You will love their story as much as all the others. Happy Reading!!
Glad this series is finally ended. Maybe Jane Henry has learned how to write a book after finishing these seven books. But no, it didn't happen. Ignoring all the timeline, character background, and editing issues the stories were cute and sweet. The "bedroom scenes" were all way too similar and generic, almost cliché. Editing did get better each installment, but still had plenty of problems in Tully. Tully was the most sarcastic male character. He was funny in that oblivious male sort of way where the ages of other people's babies don't register. He was my favorite male in the series for that and other reasons. Maybe because he was older too. McKenna was the usual rebellious female character for Ms Henry. Honestly, I really didn't think they belonged together. Yes, Tully was head over heels, but McKenna just wasn't right. Their love story was almost too forced.
This story is probably one of the best in this series. The sassy McKinsey is one of the strongest and most headstrong ladies in the series. I quite enjoyed her spunk as she escaped Tully, then shimmied into windows multiple times and saved Tully. While shooting him once, saving him with a candlestick, then shooting an Ex who wanted to kill Tully... oh and there is so much more in-between. She is one of the females who clearly enjoyed the kinky fun the club allowed her and Tully but this series only visits the club occasionally... there were parts that made me laugh and cry.. it was a very good story... and series, although some parts of the series seemed far fetched and completely unbelievable. This story is possibly the most believable. I am starting to think the men of the mountain series is probably another part of this but I sorta hope it's completely different. We'll see.
I cant, I tried, I really, really tried but I just can't start the new year with forcing myself to finish a book. A book that the main character McKenna seems fecking bipolar! She wants to be sexually punished so she acts out, she wants to be independent and not submit to Tully and be his lass but she also wants to submit in the next sentence. She chooses poorly putting others in danger bc she's being independent.. I'm beating my head against a wall at how she changed her mind and actions from one sentence to the next! I'm over it 28% in and I'm throwing in the towel on this book! Sad bc it's set in Ireland has a good storyline concept but the characters oh some of the female characters I just want to throat punch! So, I'm not counting this book as my first book of the New Year. I'm moving on, even free on K.U. Isn't worth it!
