Searching for a customer profile on Shopify POS
Searching for a customer profile from Shopify POS helps you quickly access past order details, apply customer-specific discounts, and personalize the checkout experience. Use customer search to connect purchases with the right customer profile, support loyalty programs, and provide tailored service during each sale.
You can search for customers from Shopify POS in the following ways:
- the global search bar
- the navigation bar
- the Add Customer screen

Search from the global search bar
The global search bar allows you to search your entire store on Shopify POS, including customers. When you use the global search bar, the POS screen splits and the cart remains visible.
Steps
From Shopify POS, tap the
icon.
Tap Customers.
In the search bar, type the customer's name, email, or another attribute, or scroll through your list of customers. If you've typed an attribute into the search bar, then the search results display the match reasons, so you know which attribute matches your search.
In the search results, tap the customer's name.
Search from the navigation bar
You can open your customer list from the Shopify POS navigation bar.
Steps
From Shopify POS, tap the

Add new customers and search for existing customers on the same screen.

- From Shopify POS, tap Add customer.
- In the search bar, enter the customer's name or email.
- In the search results, tap the customer's name.
