Sources said that a coronavirus positive person came in contact with around 150 to 200 people in a slum area in Noida Sector 8. Noida DM said that families are only being quarantined and are only kept under observation. "No new case has been found in sector 8," he said.

As per the latest data released by Govt of Delhi, Directorate General of Health Services, 51 fresh cases were reported in Delhi in the last 24 hours.

According to a report released by High powered Committee, 650 prisoners in Tihar jail have been released on emergency parole to ease congestion in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, 823 inmates have been given interim bail and released from the jail. (Aneesha Mathur reports)

Fifteen more Covid-19 positive cases were reported in Rajasthan on Tuesday.

A gazette has been issued for deduction of the salary of MPs. Earlier, it was reported that an ordinance - an amendment to Members of Parliament Act, 1954, will reduce the allowances and pension by 30 per cent with effect from April 1, 2020. The reduction will be applicable for a year.

Two more villages in Bandipora district -- Gund-Jehangeer and Naidkhai -- were declared as red zones and their surrounding villages as buffer zones to prevent the Covid-19 spread. The decision comes after two persons from these villages were declared coronavirus positive in past two days. (Ashraf Wani reports)

One person from Hailakandi district, with a travel history to Saudi Arabia, tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday. The total number of Covid patients in Assam now stands at 28.

At least 50 prisoners at a jail in Pakistan's worst-hit Punjab province have tested coronavirus positive, an official said on Tuesday. Inspector General Prisons Shahid Baig told PTI: "The total number of prisoners infected with the coronavirus in Punjab has reached 50 so far. Some 525 prisoners have been quarantined in separate cells of the province."

Saudi Arabia's health minister on Tuesday warned of a huge spike in Covid-19 cases of up to 200,000 within the coming weeks, state media reported. (AFP reports)
