Fulton County…
Overnight Lane Closures on State Route 400 this Weekend for Resurfacing Project

ATLANTA – Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractors will install lane closures on SR 400 this weekend in Fulton County as activities continue related to the resurfacing project on SR 400 from its interchange at I-85 to just south of Johnson Ferry Road and including the Glenridge Connector. The resurfacing work will repair the deteriorating condition of the roadway.

Weather permitting, one alternating left or right lane will be closed on SR 400 northbound and southbound between I-85 and Johnson Ferry Road beginning 9:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9 until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, October 12.  Beginning at 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Sunday nights, the single lane closures will become double lane closures until 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and 5:00 a.m. on Monday.

As always, motorists traveling in the area are reminded to reduce their speeds in the work zone. Motorists are also encouraged to wear seatbelts, eliminate distractions behind the wheel, and plan their routes before getting on the road by calling 511 for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.

The SR 400 resurfacing project is valued at $5 million and completion is expected by February 2021.

Roadway work zones are hazardous for workers and for the public. In fact, most victims in work zone crashes are drivers or passengers. Obey the rules in work zones – Pay Attention – Slow Down – Watch for Workers.  And always, expect the unexpected. It can make the difference between life and death. Remember – work zone safety is everybody’s responsibility.
