Hull KR provide injury latest on big signing Lachlan Coote

Hull KR have provided the latest on a number of injuries to their first-team members.

After both narrowly missed out last Friday due to respective issues, Korbin Sims (back) and Dean Hadley (illness) have now been given the green light to rejoin first-team training.

Ethan Ryan (fractured wrist) and Elliot Minchella (ACL injury) both made their long-awaited returns after respective long-term injuries keeping them out of the Robins’ first two rounds.

331 days after his last Hull KR appearance, Minchella completed his recovery from a major ACL injury sustained in KR’s 25-0 defeat to St. Helens last April to feature in the Robins’ 26-10 win over Castleford Tigers on Friday night.

In a positive end to the weekend for KR, Ethan Ryan made his first appearance since August 2021 for the Robins’ Reserves against Wakefield Trinity on Saturday.

Lachlan Coote is back in team training after recovering from a pulled hamstring picked up in KR’s opening round defeat to Wigan. Additionally, Will Maher is back in team training this week after getting the all-clear following the fractured eye socket he suffered in the club’s first friendly of 2022 against Dewsbury Rams.

Luis Johnson has undergone surgery on the fractured metatarsal he sustained early in the club’s home friendly against Huddersfield Giants. The back-rower has begun his rehabilitation and is expected to miss 12 weeks with a projected return in late April.

Ben Crooks had now entered the latter stages of his recovery from respective, shoulder and knee injuries and is close to returning to team training.
