CALL FOR PROJECT PROPOSALS: Supporting Child Rights and Prevention of Child Abuse in Antigua & Barbuda

The project proposal “Pathways to addressing child abuse and child rights in Antigua and Barbuda” has been selected for the award of the grant. The project is led by Integrated Health Outreach Inc. (IHO), in partnership with the Christian Union Church Antigua and Social and Environmental Alliance Inc. (SEA).

Antigua & Barbuda DECIDES for LGBTI and Child Rights (DECIDES AB) is looking to support project(s) that contribute to the promotion of child rights and, more specifically, to prevent child abuse and related risks among young people/adolescents and other groups in the country.

The present call for proposals will fund project(s) that:

  • increase young people´s awareness and knowledge as to existing services that provide for children victims of abuse;
  • build awareness on child abuse and its consequences;
  • enhance the capabilities of school staff to offer effective counselling;
  • improve the capacities of competent organizations to cooperate with each other to counter child abuse;
  • positively influence social attitudes on children´s rights.

Grants requested under this call must range between a minimum of 25.000,00 EUR and a maximum of 50.000,00 EUR.

The amount available for this call is 50.000,00 EURO. One or two projects will be selected.

DECIDES AB reserves the right not to award all available funds if applications submitted do not fulfil the selection criteria.

Applications must involve at least three partners of three different typologies (further information in the Call’s guideline). One of the partners shall act as lead applicant and the others as co-applicants. Lead applicants cannot submit more than one application.

Applications will be deemed eligible only if submitted by registered, non-state and non-profit making civil society organizations legally established in Antigua and Barbuda.

For the purpose of this call, Interarts will act as the “contracting party”.

DECIDES AB is co-funded by the European Union within the framework of the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR), designed to support civil society to act as an effective force for democratic reform and for the defence of human rights.
