SACHCC Announces New Members to their Boards

Board of Directors to Champion an Economic agenda for Minority-Owned Businesses

The Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SACHCC) is proud to announce the addition of five new members to their chamber and foundation board of directors. Each new member represents a tactical area to address the organization’s new strategic direction towards championing an economic agenda across the six-county (El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo, and Yuba) region.

The new SACHCC board members who will serve a two-year term are:

Rita Gallardo Good is the Director of Civic Affairs at Sacramento State University. Gallardo has been leading groups strategic planning with a unique focus on policy issues for more than 25 years. Gallardo has been recognized for her ability to build effective working relationships and influence private, non-profit, public, state and federal organizations.

José A. Suárez is the President and General Manager of the Telemundo affiliates in Sacramento, Fresno, and Utah. Suárez has transformed stations into multi-platform local news operations and is passionate about fostering the power of culture, community, and innovation.

Julio C. Ortiz is the owner of Gaspachos Juice Bar, business advisor, public speaker, and social media influencer. Through hard work and dedication, Ortiz rose in corporate America, eventually becoming Vice President for a national bank. In 2010 Ortiz started a family business that grew from seasonal to a full-time staff of twelve and a local brick and mortar.

Jose Bodipo-Memba is the Director of Sustainable Communities at SMUD where he heads the community-owned electric service company’s efforts to create partnerships and allow under-served segments of the area to gain access to capital, healthcare, financial and food literacy, and mobility.

The new SACHCC Foundation board member is:

Christina A. Spagnoli is the Appointed Deputy Secretary of Legislation for the Government Operations Agency. Spagnoli was Vice President of State Government Relations at the California Bankers Association from 2018 to 2019; and served as Capitol Director for Assemblymember Blanca Rubio.

“We are excited to welcome new perspectives into our board and look forward to continuing to amplify the voices of our community and business owners,” says Cathy Rodriguez Aguirre, President/CEO. “Now more than ever before, it is important for us to champion an economic agenda that benefits everyone in Sacramento,” she added.
