KUTV — A Utah movie theater has come up with a clever way to stay in business while they are currently shutdown because of coronavirus.
Water Gardens Cinema 6 in Pleasant Grove has converted into an impromptu drive-in movie theater.
Temporary screens have been set up in a dirt lot next to the theater for its first screening on Friday night. "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" and "The Dark Knight" will both be shown.
But, in order for this to work, the theater says attendees must follow social distancing rules.
"We have worked with the local government and the health department to put together a solution that will follow the health guidelines and requirements to curb the spread of COVID-19," a Facebook post on the theater's official page states.
The rules include:
The theater is offering double features on Friday and Saturday. The Facebook post states that if there are enough people who want double features, they will be added in the future. Pricing includes:
The parking lot will open one hour prior to the scheduled start time. Guests are asked to arrive at least 30 minutes early. Parking spots are first come, first serve.
Audio will be run through each vehicle's radio or a battery operated radio that can tune to a FM frequency. If your car dies, the theater has jumper cables--just message the theater's Facebook page for help after the show.
