I’m officially addicted to all things Brittany and Charli!! ‘In The Haze’ is the sequel to ‘In A Mirror’ and I loved IAM so much that I knew ITH would be great, but holy moly, Emily Bourne out-did herself. She delves so much deeper into the twins’ lives and I didn’t think that was possible. This book really makes you feel everything that the girls are going through from bereavement to physical and mental recovery from a serious accident, ITH will have you sobbing, laughing and cheering the entire time. If you haven’t read IAM, read that first, then give yourself a treat and read ‘In The Haze!’ You will not regret it!

*For full transparency, I do consider the author a friend of mine and I did receive an ARC of this as a gift from the author

I've been eagerly waiting for this sequel ever since I finished reading In A Mirror. I loved the note things ended on and I couldn't wait to see where we went next, and this definitely exceeded my expectations!

I feel like In A Mirror was primarily a coming-of-all high school story with struggles and troubles sprinkled in, while In The Haze is a story about struggles and troubles with high school sprinkled in. Brittany and Charli have so much more on their plates, and I was so shocked at some of the things that happened. I definitely didn't see some of these twists coming.

Like I said with the first book in the series, I loved the huge cast of side characters and how real each one felt. While I obviously love the twins, all of the side characters had their own lives and struggles and stories. I wish that we could see more of their stories, but the author recently announced that we WILL be getting those stories! I'm incredibly excited for that, with the little tastes we got so far I know that I'm gonna be hooked on every single story.

I highly recommend this book and this series, it had everything I wanted and more!

The second part to this duo has so much going on. When growing up and dealing with changes. The author put real life issues in this book and with so much emotion it made me ache but I loved seeing where the characters went to the next stage of life.

A beautifully written book.

ARC Review - If you liked In A Mirror you will love In The Haze this was a marvelous read and is so highly recommended. The weight of everything that went into it from talking about LGBT issues to talking about addiction and loss was so amazingly done. Emily Bourne submerges you into the world of these girls and makes you feel every heart break and every action as if you were on that Rollercoaster with them. Laughing at one line and sobbing at the next. Brilliant simple brilliant.

Emily does a wonderful job exploring all the characters in her book and making it come to life. It's not just a story about Charli and Brittany but all of their friends and family and I love that. I loved reading about Brittany's arc-- I am so Team Brittany!
If you loved book 1, you'll love continuing their story.
I can't wait to read more from Emily!

IN THE HAZE is the second book of the series and it was great to follow the twins as they each faced tragedy in their own ways and fought to overcome. We see a tragic accident change the make-up of the sisters and their friends and foes alike. As they struggle to fight through their respective HAZES, they both relearn to navigate their worlds in different ways. They take leaps away from each other following the accident and then baby steps in trying to return to the relationship they once had. Along the way, they lose some friends and gain others, but realize much more about themselves.
Emily Bourne does a great job in portraying these struggles and stepping stones. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and look forward to seeing where she goes from here.

I read the first book in the series when it came out and was desperate for a chance to pick up this book. I have adored watching Emily’s journey, watching her go from one book to the next and going along for the ride as a reader. Picking up kinda where the last book left off, this one starts with a lot of normality, or the new normal for the girls. I was hooked by the first chapter and desperate to know more, the journey was filled with twists and turns, and had me bawling and laughing at the same time. I adore Brittany and Charli and I can’t wait to see where the next book takes them. Overall, very much recommended!

This entire books screams of one word: HOPE!

When life smacks you down to the floor you get up and change, change to be better and have a better life following your own dreams and your own soul’s directions. These two amazing girls proved this perfectly in this book, the author made an amazing job transmitting hope and will to go on. Such a motivational book, I recommend it to everyone who feels lost and needs a little push in the right direction. You can never be low enough to not be able to rise high and higher.

The perfect follow up to the previous book. I was once again entertained by the characters and the amazing scenes written by the author. I felt the emotions. I felt like I was part of the story. I was invested in their lives and quest for happiness.

I requested a copy of this book so I could provide an honest review.

This is the second book and it should be read after In a mirror. I absolutely loved the first person point of view of the story, this is a deal breaker for me. It was a very good addition to the first book.

Book 2... This was an realistic and emotional journey that had relatable characters going through individual crisis. The tale was well-written and the storyline was thought out. Nice read.

Oh my gosh!!!! I finished this long journey and I don't know if any of my emotions are still intact. This book was a roller coaster full of familiar cast that made me feel like I was part of the gang.
In the Haze continues the story of Brittany and Charli Matthews, twin Aussie sisters. Charli left home on an abroad trip for school and is forced back thanks to a horrific tragedy. Their lives never the same and haunted by past memories and guilt. As the two sisters fall deeper and deeper into their living hell they learn lessons on who their friends are, who they themselves really are, and how much they need each other.
I was anxiously waiting the arrival of this novel and Emily was so sweet enough to let me read it in advance in exchange for a review. I don't think I would have been able to wait till the end of July.
If you read In A Mirror and thought that was full of drama well wait till you get a boatload of this novel! Charli's journey throughout this novel was so raw and realistic and touching. Her strengths turned into her weaknesses and she struggles to make sense of her new reality.
Brittany is also put through one heck of a journey in this book and I related to her so much. Her weaknesses and monsters she faced both physically an mentally connected with mine and I was rooting for her from page one. Team Britany all the way ;) lol
I wish I could put Brittany and Charli in a bubble and protect them from all the crap they have had to endure:) I do want to mention trigger warnings for drug abuse and anxiety.
Love, love, love this book. Highly recommend to everyone!
