Gov. Abbott obfuscates on whether he told some rural GOP lawmakers he will decline to support a school voucher bill
Abbott’s flirtation with support of vouchers during the primary has “school choice” advocates now demanding a definitive stance; some pro-public education rural Republicans say Abbott privately told them recently that he opposes vouchers
Gov. Greg Abbott
may be starting to feel the heat from public education advocates and most rural
Republican lawmakers in the Texas Legislature who would like him
to definitively and publicly declare he will not support
a school voucher bill in the next session of the Texas Legislature.
It will not shock you that
Abbott is accused of speaking out of both sides of his mouth on the issue.
