Wildcat Dialogues: An intercultural leadership experience for new students

My Story Your Story Our Story. Wildcat DialoguesMark your calendars! We invite all first-year and first-time-on-campus students at K-State to engage in Wildcat Dialogues, an intercultural learning experience facilitated by student, faculty and staff conversation guides. Wildcat Dialogues introduces first-year and first-time-on-campus students to tools that ease engagement in meaningful dialogues across differences, which help to create communities of belonging at K-State.

During Wildcat Dialogues, students will:

  • Learn the importance and the art of engaging in meaningful dialogues
  • Learn tools to engage in dialogue about our cultural similarities and differences
  • Strategize and act to create a community of belonging at K-State

The 2021 Wildcat Dialogues will take place virtually and include multiple opportunities to attend. Participants can select the date that best fits their schedule:

  • 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13
  • 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14
  • 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15
  • 2:30-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16

We appreciate your help in sharing this information with students and encouraging them to RSVP by Wednesday, Sept. 8. In previous years, we have gathered more than 1,000 new students together to engage in challenging conversations that elevate intercultural learning and development of the K-State family. This year, we want to grow the event by reaching as many students, faculty and staff as possible to help contribute to the conversation and continue building on our commitment to intercultural learning at K-State. For more information please visit the Wildcat Dialogues website.

This event is coordinated in partnership between the Staley School of Leadership Studies, Diversity and Multicultural Student Affairs, and K-State First, alongside a large committee representing students, faculty and staff. This collaboration represents the commitment by our campus community to create a culture of belonging for all.
