TAKING CHARGE OF ME
This is the last message in the sermon series THE BATTLE WITHIN.  In this series, we have discovered that there is a battle that goes on every day and our minds are the battleground where our soul is at stake.
_________________ gives us the choice to choose to live righteously for God or to live according to the comfort of our _____________.
Pastor Chris says that “your choice will choose your consequences for you.”
What does he mean by this?
Who is your enemy?
How do we fight for our souls?
Romans 8: 18-19, 24—For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. Forthe desire to do what is good is with me, but there is no ability to do it. 19 For I do notdo the good that I want to do, but I practice the evil that I do not want to do.        Vs. 24 — What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?
These verses were written by Paul many years ago. What was he saying?
Can you relate to Paul’s dilemma?
Do you find the battle hard?
In this week’s message, we learned that God gives us authority to take charge over our flesh and the devil who fights us.
AUTHORITY =   _________________ _________________
Who are some of the “authorities” that are over you?
What happens when we no longer acknowledge or respect that authority over us?
How does what Paul said in Romans 8 relate to the ideas of authorities over us?
Who do you have authority over?
As being the person in charge of these, do you give them knowingly bad directions or instructions for their own good and the good of the team/company/etc.?
So do you think the laws God gives are for our good or just to mess us up?
When we are down, we are inclined to focus only on the negative words. Jesus encouraged Elijah to eat to gain his strength, get up and focus on what was ahead for him.
