Welcome back to another episode of Ultra Chill. This week we’re speaking with Raphael Pluta, the CEO of CLD. CLD is the partner Ultra is building Ultra Arena with, and we’ll be covering who they are and how that partnership works. Let’s get to it.

Ultra Arena is about to launch, and we have been running a series of beta tournaments with select community members. Today we’re going to be chatting with Gabriel Martinez, Ultra’s new Tournament Coordinator. He has an interesting history in gaming and a lot of great ideas for how to help Ultra Arena achieve its potential. So, without further ado, let’s get to it.

AI has been booming the past year and we are now starting to see blockchain-based projects that are leveraging some of these innovation on open networks. On today’s episode we’re bringing back Pierre from Agora, Ultra’s exclusive DEX, to talk about their latest Uniq to drop on Ultra’s network, the AI Oracle. Let’s get to it.

A new day and a new dawn. Ultra Games is now public and we’re going to be focusing a lot of what we talk about this season on Ultra Chill at our game partners and their properties that are dropping on our platform. First on our list is Ethan Cohen from the team who is building R3V3NGE, a web3 Smash to Earn game.

For our final show of season 3 we have our esteemed execs Nicolas and David on to the show to talk shop. As we’re about to hit one of the biggest milestones in Ultra’s history, we thought we should cover Ultra’s strategy, game tokenization details, and how things are expected to unfold during the second half of 2023. Let’s get to it.

This week we have on a guest from a new game called R3V3BGE that is  deploying on Ultra through our partners at Polyland. Nicolas is the head of partnerships there and he’s here to talk about long-term engagement with users, NFTs, and interoperability.

The community has a lot of questions about how things are going in  Ultra’s development, and how close or far we are from releasing  everything that we’ve been working on to the public. Let’s go through those one by one.

This week on Ultra Chill, we invited the CEO of Agora, Pierre de Viry to  come on to the show. We talked about the details of their upcoming NFT  drop on both Ultra and Ethereum. He also explained what products Agora  has been building and gave an update on the progress of their DEX.

This week we have Joshua Owens from Byzantion.xyz to talk about what NFT  data abstraction is and how it can potentially benefit developers.

We get lots of questions from people eager to launch on Ultra.io. Many  of these people are talented game designers, NFT community members, and  others who have specific skills but haven't run the gauntlet of a new  web3 project yet. We brought on Tony Drummond from Moonbound Consulting  to answer some quick questions about what he thinks are the most  important things to focus on when starting a new web3 project.

We brought on Holger Mannweiler from Metabrewsociety to talk to us about  their NFT project which rewards holders with custom brewed beer! We  went over what makes for good utility in an NFT project and how to use  the wisdom of the crowd to create the best brand possible.

Bithotel has chosen Ultra to distribute through. To get a better idea  about what they are building and why we had Leon Lenan, their COO, on to  the show. Together we discussed social gaming, which communities to  target, their upcoming games, and why projects like theirs roll their  own marketplaces.

It’s been a mad minute since we had David and Nicolas on the show to  give us an update about how things are progressing at Ultra. Since last  time we launched our Uniq Marketplace, are prepping wave3 and the launch  of Ultra Games, and are starting to on-board developers into our  ecosystem.

So now we have a lot of data about NFTs and about the huge market of  users and apps that actively uses them.

Being able to play a game online and win real money is a dream that  literally every kid has. For a very select few who become professional  players, it becomes a reality.   The thing is that this disparity between the absolute best players and  everyone else is based around a legacy technical setup that needs to be  democratized and replaced by something more fair. If we want esports to  be big (and we do!) that means MORE players winning MORE prizes.  Our upcoming tournament platform is really about that. Today we have  with us Louis Regis from Xborg to get his take on esports, on-chain  data, and how transparency changes everything.  Let’s get to it.

At Ultra we believe that it’s critical that we keep an eye on our  competition and ensure that we understand the market that we’re building  in. 

To that end, we’ve decided today that we’re going to bring on one  of those up and coming competitors and pick their brain about what  they’ve been building and why. We’ll focus on the potential of the  market, and how that translates into feature sets which benefit  developers and users alike.

We at Ultra believe that there should be a better way to be entertained.  This goes for everything from how you explore and play games, to how  you use digital assets like items in those games. It encompasses how  communities are built and managed, and includes how we play together in  things like tournaments or on streaming platforms. Gaming is a big part  of our lives today and we think a better, more holistic approach needs  to be built from the ground up to enable that future.  

Because of how wide this vision is, we’ve started expanding who we talk  to on Ultra Chill so that our audience (that’s you!) can get a wider  lens on what is potentially possible, and where new innovations are  likely to impact how people play. We don’t think that there will be many announcements that Ultra makes  which will be so fundamentally consequential for the future of the  platform as the one that we made with Agora.   

Agora is a partnership between SwissBorg, XBorg, and Ultra that paves the way forward for decentralized finance on our platform. In effect, it  ensures that liquidity within the many economies that blockchain based  platforms create are all interconnected.

Phases one and two of the roll out of the Uniq Marketplace have  succeeded in their goals of deploying, testing, stressing, and eliciting  feedback from our users. We encountered some small issues, but on the  whole we think that the system did very well. For the problems that were  encountered, our support and triage teams identified and fixed them  without issue.  

For Phase 3, scheduled for July, we’ll be expanding the pool of users  and deploying more content to our platform. Today, we have with us Lucas  Haidar to talk about our phased approach and the road to release to the  general public.

Software is a difficult, winding path that turns a vision into an implementation. It’s often compared to building a train and its tracks while rushing forward at the speed of sound. I’ve found this to be the case in most startups and open-source software projects. It is certainly the case at Ultra, as we persevere towards our goal of building the future of gaming.

I think that we should talk about how building a suite of products is not the same as building one product. Because, that’s what Ultra really is: a suite of tools and interfaces that enables people to do things that have never been possible before.

A big part of that suite is the Uniq Marketplace that we’ve put so much effort into over the past two milestones.
