There's no doubt emergency dispatchers have one of the most difficult and stressful jobs in Maine.The Maine Department of Public Safety is trying to help relieve some of that stress for workers at the Augusta dispatch center.Scupper, an 11-year-old golden retriever service dog, visits the dispatch center twice a week to help ease some of the pressures of the job.The dispatch center also recently acquired a relaxation pod to help workers decompress and recharge their batteries.It is similar to the relaxation pods seen in malls and many airports.Officials said the Augusta center might be the first in the country to get a relaxation pod for dispatchers.
