Powerful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will say, this thing is powerful. It shakes the floor and walls. Thunder storm in the movie or right outside your window? Hard to tell. You get all the low sounds. You get sounds that you didn't even know were in the movie before. Growling monsters? Check. Rumbling engine? Did someone just crash into my house? Unfortunately, though, it's too powerful for the 100W JBL Link Bar. I got the sub for free with the bar. It's loud enough to drown out all dialogue when the subwoofer is rumbling. There are no controls (unless I'm missing something) to turn it down. Also, for some reason JBL lists the sub as 300W on their website, but Best Buy says 150W. It is pretty simple to use. Just plug it in, press the button on the back, and then press the sub pairing button on the soundbar. Done. All volume is controlled when adjusting bar. It really would be nice to be able to have a knob or something to turn it down/otherwise adjust bass. The sub is great for listening to bass-heavy music. Sounds fantastic. It is HUGE, though. It's about the size of a small end table. Yes, it has a 10 inch sub in it, but it's on the bottom pointing down. The case is about 1 ft square and nearly two feet tall. Huge. See picture. Roomba and chair for scale.

Posted .Thanks for your feedback. The controls for the volume and adjustment of the bass can be managed using the Link Bar. You have to use the remote control to make the adjustments. The maximum power or peak that this subwoofer can handle is at 300 watts, 150 watts is the RMS or root mean square power handling, refers to how much continuous power (average) the speaker can handle.

Nice!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a soundbar sub this thing is pretty darn good compared to any other soundbar I've had. I have it in a corner of an open 1100ft2 first floor and it makes things shake all around. It pairs nicely with the soundbar and is easy to adjust the bass level. The only complaint I have is with the crossover. They have it set quite high, so it plays a lot of notes I wish it didn’t at times. I find in those situations that I can pinpoint the exact location of the sub which is not a good thing. I also had to put it on a bass mat because it’s down firing and my floors made a lot of noise - not a complaint though since it’s my floors that cause the issue. Overall though I am very happy with the sub and would recommend to anyone who wants more output than the small 5-6.5” subs many bars come with.

Looks and sounds good...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Received free with purchase of JBL Link bar and glad I did. The cabinet is somewhat large but it looks clean so placing it in the open isn't much of a concern. Only a power cord to attach so keeping cords hidden isn't difficult. Setup was a breeze and the sound is more than powerful enough. You're able to adjust the sub level through the link bar and I have mine set slightly below the default setting. Deep bass shines, mid bass leaves a little to be desired. I believe this only works with the link bar so it is what it is. Overall though very happy with this subwoofer.

Excellent Bass levels even at low volume on your TV. You can hear and feel the difference with certain movies and programming. It packs a punch. I am very Happy with it! Of course this sub came FREE with the 40 inch JBL sound Bar, how crazy is that! You will be happy with it!

Q: Questioncan i connect this to a yamaha reciever
Asked by flex.
- A:Answer No you can not. It will only connect to the jbl link bar. I tried that as well no luck.

Q: QuestionI’m getting the jbl link bar with this free subwoofer added. Just like my other jbl soundbar, I was wondering if I can control the subwoofer (bass) through the link bar or link bar remote itself . or does the sub come with a remote or bass adjustments .
Asked by Sylvester.
- A:Answer The remote does not come with any bass control, but the bass can be adjusted via the link bar's Android interface. You'll have to search for it in the Android settings. This is also the only way to change preset sound modes such as, Movie, Music, Voice, and Standard.

Q: QuestionCould you please tell us the exact jbl bar model numbers that connects with these subwoofers? I wrote a question in the JBL Link Bar item in this best buy page, and JBL support told me that these bars can't connect with the sw10.
Asked by Neo.
- A:Answer Mine doesn't have a number strictly JNL LINK BAR has Google assistance and Chromecast and wifi. The Sub woofer will ONLY work with a link bar. ON THE LINK BAR THERE IS A separate button for pairing the subwoofer, the Bluetooth on top will not achieve this .I contacted Job for help and downloaded the manual.I had a difficult time getting it to work still don't use the remote but otherwise impressed with the system excellent sound.I have a Yamaha and Bose, energy system for music. but the Jbl subwoofer only works with a link bar not any other Jbl bar
