The Real Play City Challenge awards inspiring cities and urban practitioners that have successfully used placemaking to create environments that give people time, space and opportunities to play.
THIS YEAR YOU CAN APPLY TO ONE OF THESE THREE THEMES
Spaces that create a shared sense of purpose, help communities in conflict heal and give children the time and space to play that they deserve.
Playful and sustainable places, rethinking public spaces so that they better support local communities in tackling climate change.
Playful spaces creating a safe environment that meet the needs of everyone’s abilities
and makes them feel welcome.

We are welcoming applications from urban practitioners and cities alike that use placemaking to create playful environments in a public space and that are embedded in at least one of this years themes.

Inspire us and the jury with one-minute video
NOTE: We will NOT be evaluating the quality of video production. This is only to understand more about the initiative and showcase how it has made an impact to help people or communities solve global challenges. Videos can be shot on any recording device, including a camera phone. You can talk about the initiative, and/or include testimonials, pictures and videos of your initiative.
The video should be uploaded along with the application form.

*Please note that if you are representing a city, in the form you will be asked to upload a letter from the municipality in the provided template authorizing the submission of the proposal and certifying the applicants position/role.
As a winner you can pick from their professional offering around knowledge sharing, workshops in skills development and assistance in networking from our partners, while presenting your project to a global audience as an inspiring example from this new global network of play advocates.
