The Day God Ran | Pastor Bob Grimm

SUMMARY

This weekend Pastor Bob gave the next message in our 10 series called The Day God Ran. He discussed having a heart for Jesus and how that leads to having the heart to run after people far from God. Teaching out of the classic story of The Prodigal Son, we can see several things. One thing is that on the day God ran He saw beyond himself in order to run after us. He saw past the shame that He would endure and what culture would have considered shameful. He was filled with compassion and wanted to be with us. We can also see that He invested His best into reaching the worst. God gives us His best and honors us so that no one can reject us.

How do we run with God's heart? The first thing we need to remember is why we are here. What we do is less important than why we are here. When you know why you are here no matter what you do, you will do it better than anything you can do in Heaven. The reason you are here is to reach those that are far from God. We also need to look for who God is drawing. We can get a sense of who God is drawing by if they are surrounded by problems and we can connect with them by looking for a similar passion and go after it with them. Then you bring them to the party that we all get to be a part of.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

1. What is a part of God's heart that you feel like God is asking you to develop?

2. What is the step to running with God's heart that you can you walk in this week?

3. What did the Holy Spirit tell you during the weekend message?

4. What are you doing about it?

5. How can we help you with our prayers and support?

PRAYER FOCUS

Thank the Father for his compassionate love that made Him run to us when we were far off and ask Him to give you a fresh taste of His love and begin to develop that in you.
