  Las radios libres llegaron a España a finales de la década de 1970, muy influenciadas por los ejemplos de Francia e Italia, con la intención de implantar un nuevo modelo comunicativo y dar voz a aquellas personas y colectivos que no tenían representación en los medios generalistas. El artículo se centra en su evolución durante su primera época, entre 1976 y 1989, atendiendo a cómo se expandieron por el país, cuáles fueron sus características y cómo se relacionaron con las autoridades en un contexto en el que la legislación no las reconocía

  Free radio stations arrived in Spain at the end of the 1970s, heavily influenced by the examples of France and Italy, with the intention of implementing a new communication model and giving a voice to those people and groups that were not represented in the generalist media. The article focuses on their evolution during their first period, between 1976 and 1989, looking at how they expanded throughout the country, what their characteristics were and how they related to the authorities in a context where the legislation did not recognise them
