Lamborghini Is Reportedly Considering An Electric Hypercar With Porsche Tech
We had recently reported about Porsche's plan for a smaller version of the Mission E. Now, a video posted by Auto Bild suggests that the manufacturer's electric car tech could be picked up by Lamborghini.
The video suggests the electric hypercar, named the Vitola, would ride on the Porsche Mission E platform. It will also borrow the fast-charging system on the Mission, which works with an 800-volt battery.
The Vitola is expected to have a 0-100km/h time of just 2.5 seconds (similar to the Tesla Model S P100D) and it can reach a top speed of 300km/h. The Mission E's motors generate 600 horsepower from two electric motors, which propels the car from 0-100km/h in 3.5 seconds.
To ensure maximum performance, the Vitola will be lighter than the Mission E, but with more horsepower to keep it ahead of the competition. It's still not confirmed if the Vitola will be a limited-run Lamborghini with a hefty price tag or a replacement for the Aventador.
We expect Lamborghini, who is known for its loud V10 and V12, will not be switching completely to the engines that whisper quiet. Watch this space for the updates.
