3/5🌶

Broken Wings by Chelle Bliss is the 3rd book in her new Open Road Series. Which takes side characters from her amazing and popular series's Men of Inked and Men of Inked Heatwave and gives us a more complete picture of the world we've been falling in love with for years.
More amazing and charismatic characters. More heartwarming and eye-opening stories and definitely more reasons that Chelle Bliss is one of the Top Independent Authors I've found and love.

I'll start off my review with one of my favorite Quotes from it... "It all started with a headache, a little girl, and a broken man who went stupidly into the unknown." I love that SO much!

Logan Taylor aka Crow just got out of prison after being in there for 7 years. so he is indeed a man with a broken soul and looking to find his way back to his old self but be a better man than before. He's looking to find where he belongs and fits into the world again and that's a struggle for anyone let alone someone who was in prison for one mistake and split decision that changed his life forever. He has his Brotherhood, his MC the Disciples but he's looking for so much more. Looking for where he fits in because since he has been gone the world has changed so much he's lost so he's finding his way in the world again and it is a journey that squeezes your heart and makes you want to just Reach Out and hug him.

Bridget Connor is a single mother with her hands full the world that is stacked against her suffering silently with medical condition no strong support system since she recently lost her mother her struggles are so profound she's barely treading above water but has the drive to better herself and her child's life circumstances just keep piling on the difficulty especially with her medical condition so when one morning it happens she Takes a Tumble and her daughter Mia is frantic and looking for help Logan aka Crow happens to be in the right place at the right time although we don't know it yet.

Crow does what not a lot of people in the world today would do. Which is very unfortunate but he sees this young girl in her yard frantic calling for help and does the Good Samaritan deed and helps this poor child and her mother. However he goes above and beyond just going through and helping them get the help and medical attention that Bridget needed. He comforts and calms young Mia. Stays with her until Bridget is released from the ER and then because there's a connection immediately and he's not sure what this inner protection feeling is all about, but he continues to go above and beyond.

Finding out she's alone finding out just the bare minimum of her struggles he takes it upon himself and does the uncommon thing with Humanity today and helps out a total stranger. Even after the initial tragic struggle of the story is over he brings in help from his family the disciples and shows Bridget kindness that she has not seen in Forever.

He helps fix things that need to be fixed in her home and extends a friendship an Olive Branch to this young struggling single mother that gives her and him a second chance at making a better life for themselves.

Bridget finds friends in Crow and his friends. she finds companionship for young Mia which is all Bridget wants is to see her daughter happy and thriving just like any mother.

Crow and Bridget have a powerful chemistry the Sparks are there on every page that they're together. You have angst, you have the build up, you have the sexual tension that is phenomenal. They are both broken people and are terrified of making mistakes that would make their life more complicated. Sometimes though, you just have to take that chance and when they do look out because they are meant for each other. It is fire, passion and love that exceeds anything either one of them has ever felt and it is amazing.

Broken wings gives us a wonderful Slow Burn meant to be Romance there is so much in this one story that you be high on the swooning
endorphins for days.

Chelle Bliss hit gold with this and broken wings is probably my favorite one so far of the open road series. I highly recommend jumping in to this series and becoming an even bigger Chelle Bliss addict!

Broken Wings is the third book in Chelle Bliss' brilliant Open Road series. But it can easily be read as a standalone.

Although believe me when I say if this is your first introduction you'll want to read more. Not just of this series. But the author too.

As Chelle Bliss once again captures your attention from the very first page. With characters that are far from perfect, but they're genuine and relatable too.

As Crow recently released from prison after he killed a man in circumstances that frankly anyone could find themselves in meets single mother, Birdie and her daughter Mia. When Birdie falls down the stairs and Mia desperately searches for someone to help.

And as Crow learns more about Birdie and Mia and their struggles which include money worries and a recent bereavement. He can't help but get involved and so does the MC who have always had his back particularly since his release from prison.

And with fantastic pacing, sweetness, humour and heat. Not to mention plenty of feels. Broken Wings was a fabulous read and it's one I would recommend to all.

Broken Wings is one of the more emotional books that I’ve read by Chelle Bliss. There is always a level of realism to her stories that allows the reader to relate better to the journey that is happening, but this story was more. My particular take on that comes from the individual circumstances both Crow and Birdie had to hurdle down the journey path. This wasn’t just their journey as a couple. It was also their individual journey and how becoming a couple enhanced them and allowed them both to carry each other’s burdens and be lighter because of it. Does that make sense? LOL It sounds a little wordy and weird when I read it out loud, but I don’t have any better way of saying it so … hope everyone gets it!

I loved the emotional side of this story and I don’t think it would have the same impact had it not been written with those choices. Authors always have a choice on how they want a journey to unfold, and I give mad props to Chelle for every decision she made with this story. Thinking back to some of the plot points in this story right now and my heart wants to burst from the depth of emotion I feel. Birdie, Mia & Crow deserve the universe at their feet, and I’m super stoked they crossed paths to be able to give that to each other. I was going to mention a few details about their growth and how well Chelle molded this story around them, but I don’t think I will now. I think if you decide to give this story a try, you should experience every detail as it happens like I did. There’s a huge cloud of hope that surrounds this story and that’s just about the best feeling one can have while reading a romance fiction journey in my opinion. Well done, Chelle!

I swear, this book just hit every emotion perfectly. Crow is there when Birdie needs him most, even if he’s uncertain and far out of his comfort zone. But he steps up for her and Mia, even with his discomfort and rightfully earned aversion to prying (and judging) minds. But he just can’t walk away from these two. There’s something about them that just screams “home” and Crow’s heart is gleefully shouting “mine” right back.

Birdie is in the middle of some serious stress right about now and the last thing she ever expected was a stranger stepping up to help. And he brings his family by choice with him. But she’s been burned before and she’s afraid to trust. Or to hope. Or to even dream too hard about a chance with Crow. And she almost loses him just by trying to get to know him. Or so she thinks. These two both carry a lot of past hurts and fears, but they’re perfect together. They balance each other out, and support each other every step of the way, and also know when and what to give when the other may be hurting. So their happiness is absolutely well-deserved and only left me sad that this book is done.

I adore this series and the realistic problems each couple faces. They feel like they could be your own friend or relative or even yourself with the things they go through, but that only serves to make the high points that much sweeter for me. And the lows? Well, that’s life also. And just like life, the lows bring something that everyone needs to get through to the other side. Because of all of this, I can’t wait for more of this band of brothers and the women they fall for!

5 star Review Broken Wings (Open Road #3) by Chelle Bliss

I love this series; every book gets better and better. Although you can read as a stand alone why not one click the other books ? You won’t be disappointed. This is Logan “Crow” Taylor and single mum Birdie’s story and what an emotional story it was.

Crow has recently been released from prison and is determined never to return. Coming across Birdie, a woman who is in need of help and protection, Crow steps up. I fell hard for Crow, he ticked all my boxes; I loved how he was there for Birdie and her daughter Mia.

Birdie is wary of trusting Crow, particularly as he is part of an MC. However as she gets to know Crow and his MC brothers she finds realizes that there is more to them than she initially thought. Both Crow and Birdie have been burnt in the past. Can they come to terms with the past and in doing so forge a future together? It was heart warming to watch the friendship and support of one another grow throughout the book.

This was an emotional roller coaster of a read with characters that will draw you in and whose story you will quickly become invested. if anyone deserved happiness it was Crow and Birdie.

Well done Ms.Bliss this was a wonderful addition to the Open Road series.

It's been a while since I've read a book from this author, and I was reminded just why I love her books! This was full of emotion, heart and heat, and the relationship between Crow and Birdie is epic, and add in her little girl Mia, this was just such an amazing read!

Crow was just recently released from prison due to a tragic situation, and Birdie is a down on her luck single mom. These two meet by chance, but the more they get to know one another and the more Crow helps her and her daughter, Birdie sees just how much good is in him, and how he just fits in her life. Plus I loved how Crow fell first -- I'm just such a sucker for when the hero falls hard and fast!

This was so unlike any of the other MC books I've read, and I just loved it! I'm definitely going to start reading more from this author!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions **

To say I have been waiting to read Logan "Crow" Taylor's story is an understatement. I was introduced to Crow so many books ago during his encounter with many key Gallos in the heatwave series. But now, it's time for Crow 's story.

I was not disappointed at any time. Learning Crow's backstory just felt right. Crow. So many would judge him by how he looks, his loyalty to the MC, and for being in Prison. PRISON. Crow was now getting out after 7 years in prison. He murdered a man. But why? We learn out her in Broken Wings.

Crow will always be, THAT GUY. The one that no matter what will be the one to help out. And even after getting out of prison, his gut to help in a situation would be the best decision of his life.

That morning. Just jogging. That beautiful little girl, Mia, screaming for help. A split decision to help Mia and her Mom (Birdie) no matter what...CHANGE HIS LIFE FOREVER. For the good.

I can't praise this book enough. I actually shed tears for Crow. I knew him before this book. This love story is more than amazing. You want to read about sexy, possessive MCs', a chance encounter, or just Chelle Bliss Brillance. Here is your book. Enjoy!!

Ugh… I am trying to write without sobbing. My chest is tight as tears silently fall. I can’t get over how much I LOVE this book. It isn’t a story for sissies. I am warning you, it is a full experience read.

Crew and Birdie have heartbreaking individual stories to tell but when you add who and what they become together, all I can say is SWOON! They truly feel like two halves of a whole. They found each other the perfect time in the perfect way.

Crew has just been released from prison and hearing his perspective and experiencing his feelings made for a unique read. I felt how he was learning to live again, become the best he could be, and join his band of brothers (MC).

Birdie has me reeling to be honest. She is dealing with grief (mother died), a health crisis, and trying to be the best mom to her daughter. The backstory of her parents and a visit from her father is what DESTROYS me. I won’t give too much away but anyone with abandonment issues from a parent will understand her responses. It felt so cathartic for all the little girls out there who had a father make selfish decisions.

This book is definitely five star worthy. Happy Reading Everyone! XOXO

This series is everything I want in a series and more! Crow and Bridget are both broken in their own ways. They both need a second chance in life….can they find it in each other? Crow is fresh out of prison looking for the next chapter of his life. When he runs into and decides to help Bridget he has no idea how fast his life is about to change. Between Bridget, her daughter Mia and his club brothers Crows life is looking good. This was a great quick read. Bridget was sweet and companionate and Crow was honest and protective. These two found each other when they really needed someone to be their cheerleader. Of course his club brothers are a added bonus! I love the banter between these guys and the tough love they are always willing to give. This series has been amazingly entertaining, I laugh, I cry And most of all I feel Good after reading these books! Chelle never disappoints and I’m always looking forward to reading the next book as the one I’m reading ends!

This is a story that will give you all the feels. Jason Clarke will pull you into this story with his smooth voice and give you all the emotions Crow is feeling. From trepidation to anxiety to elation to passion, Jason’s voice brings Chelle’s words to life like they should be. Samantha Brentmoor will give Birdie that sweet, soft voice that will pull on those heartstrings as you feel her turmoil and feel the chemistry her and Crow have. I can’t say enough good things of these two narrators.

Chelle weaves this story of second chances and happily ever afters that will captivate you from the first to last page. She gives you characters to love as you watch their love blossom while they try to make heads or tails of their life. This story is filled with passion and love mixed with turbulence. It’s filled with the family you make.

This was an amazing book to listen to.

I am beyond excited that Chelle Bliss wrote Crow’s book as he deserved all the goodness and she did a fantastic job with Broken Wings (Open Road #3).

Now that Crow has been released from prison, he has a second chance at life and he’s starting on a new path. And then the lovely and sweet, Bridget aka Birdie comes into his life along with her seven year old adorable daughter, Mia. Both of them have been through a lot in their pasts which creates obstacles, challenges and emotional times for them. They are two wonderful people who are more than deserving of a second chance at love. Crow’s character development is wonderful as he’s so much more than a biker with tattoos, he has a good heart and he’s a good man. I love that this big and bad biker is a softee with Mia and that really warmed my heart. Crow and Birdie have excellent chemistry and they create hot and sexy magic in the bedroom. Broken Wings is another terrific addition to the Open Road Series.

Flying free!

When Crow is released from prison he's feeling all kinds of emotions and doesn't really know who he is anymore. Living at the compound he knows that his brothers in the club don't look at him any differently. Going out for a run one day he happens to meet a young girl who needs help. Crow is very unsure if what he should do but helps Mia and her mother Birdie who has had a bad fall. A friendship between Crow and Birdie grows and Crow starts to feel release, not just from the shackles of prison but from the thoughts and fears he's been harbouring. Between them they find ways to heal and the chemistry between them grows. Can they both remove the fears of the past to get a future they both need?
Chelle really knows how to give you characters that need redemption but who also intrigue you. The chemistry is hot but the moments between the characters is touching. I can't wait for Chelle's next book

Definitely my favorite of this series, Broken Wings was all kinds of beautiful. Chelle Bliss gives us a truly lovely love story between two broken souls who come to realize that together they are simply perfect. Birdie Connor and Logan Thomas have each had a difficult life until the moment their paths cross and what follows once they are in each other's lives purely by chance is the kind of romance neither ever imagined.

Logan, also known as Crow by his MC brothers, is fresh out of jail and has a myriad of doubts that he is worthy of both friendship and love. Yet his room at the compound is just the way he left it and Morris, Leo, Tiny and their families shower him with support and affection only this kind of brotherhood can offer. And although he can be hesitant to take what they want to selflessly and effortlessly give him, it was wonderful to see him finally find his worth not only for himself but for his Birdie and her adorable daughter Mia.

Birdie has struggled more than she ever should have. On her own with just her 7-year-old daughter Mia by her side, when Crow comes into her life, all hell breaks loose, both figuratively and literally and it's a whirlwind of emotion from there. I loved her spirit and her positivity when it came to her daughter and eventually to Crow. She saw in him all the good even when it was messing with her own head that someone would actually want the trainwreck of a life she was currently living.

Overall, this is a quick and easy read with just enough steam and humor to make it sigh-worthy and enjoyable. I hope Bliss continues with these characters, again another tangent in the Galloverse, since she writes them so well. In fact, Crow was a surprise to me since he was a bit of a mystery and didn't come off looking all that good when I read Wildfire way back when. So I was happy to see him find his way and be the man he always had inside of him, getting the girl and the life he was truly meant to have.

4 big stars!

This is the third book in the Open Road Series and brings us Crow, Birdie an sweet little Mia.

This is a beautiful story of starting over, finding your path and a chance a happiness when you are certain you don't deserve the things you see everyone else having. Healing is the first step in this process of beleiving this happiness is for you. Accepting the help and love of family, whether blood or chosen they have your back and are standing ready to help you when they can.

Quick chemistry between these characters brings the emotions off the pages. The sweet little girl that is way to mature for her little body but she adds a fun witty humor to the story. I was happy to see these wonderful people get their happily ever after and a real chance to have a life they deserve.

Another wonderful book from Ms Bliss.

Another masterpiece by Chelle Bliss

This is Crow and Birdies story.
You can’t help but fall in love with them from the very beginning.
Crow was just released from prison for committing murder even though he was just protecting an innocent person. He is trying to be apart of society again along with the MC Club

Birdie is a single mother to sweet Mia and trying to navigate life without her Mother.
Birdie takes a fall and Mia is outside calling for help when Crow runs by he steps up to the plate.
Crow does what he can to try and make things easier for both of them. While he is just being the nice guy he is feelings start to develop between them.

Chelle makes you feel like you can relate to her characters as they are often broken and just trying to do what they need to do in order to survive.

I'm a sucker for a damsel in distress. Bliss just checked that box BIG TIME with this book! Crow is just out of serving time and trying to make sense of things when he comes upon a little girl and her momma in desperate need of help. What I love about Crow is his sense of duty and honor when it comes to Birdie and Mia. He's a gentle giant with Mia. This book touched my heart, steamed up my glasses, and kept me turning pages. This is Book 3 and the sense of family in this series really comes together. This will def be on my reread list! If you liked Bliss' book Maneuver, you'll love Broken Wings. 4 stars!

I loved Crow and Birdie! They were exactly what the other needed in life and, I mean, how could they not be, with "nicknames" like that. For Crow to be exactly where Birdie needed him when she needed him most was, in my opinion, Fate telling him he was paid up for the mistakes he'd made and was due for some good in his life.

What a fantastic series this is and I sure hope the author continues it!!!

This ended up being a sweeter, more touching story than I expected.
Two people who have had hardships thrown on them, finding their way through with each other.
I loved that Logan thought he was this bad guy but he drops everything to help Birdie and her wee girl Mia. They way he interacted with her was so cute.
And Birdie was struggling so hard, not wanting to be seen as a failure, but when she let Logan in it was so sweet to see her walls come down.
It was quite insta love, but it worked for the story in my opinion.
Wanna go back now and read the other guys books.

Crow and Birdie were so sweet together. I loved how Crow was with Mia also. I really felt for Birdie, she was trying to do the best she could to care for her daughter alone while dealing with a debilitating medical issue. Crow fresh out of prison just wanted to be able to live his life and was in constant worry that his felon status would hold him back. This was a sweet book, the MC wasn't dark or gritty, just a brotherhood looking out for each other which was refreshing.

Birdie & Crow

I really enjoyed these two and the way they get together! Crow (aka Logan) meets Birdie's daughter, Mia, during a medical emergency & ends up helping her & her mom. There's an immediate draw to Bridget (aka Birdie), and she has one to him.

I love the pacing & the way they help each other heal and get back on their feet. New friendships & family relationships are formed. Mia & Zoey are adorable!

And they fall in love.

Sweet, sincere and heartfelt, Broken Wings is another perfect addition to the Open Road series.

As always, Celle gives us a heartwarming tale, centered around real problems and good people, the importance of family, born or found, love, support and unity. These books are a snapshot of life - with it's highs and lows and everything in between and I can't help but swoon with each new one.

This is the third book in this series, and it just keeps getting better. Who knew going for a run and something like a bad headache could change your whole life? Certainly not Crow and Birdie. I really enjoyed this book Crow and Birdie were just two people trying to make it t through while dealing with broken and hurtful pasts. Right away the chemistry between them was so great, wether they wanted to admit it or not. There were a few surprises I didn’t expect but added to the story line so well. Could they accept one another’s broken pieces and pasts? Will they cross that line and take that chance?

We finally have Crows book. If you remember, we met Crow in Tamara's book.

He was a complete d-bag to her. But, he did know he was going away for a while. So he treated her that way for a good reason.

Now he's out and free. But everything has changed. The club, the brothers, families now.

Birdie is a single mom that is hitting rock bottom. And of course she meets Crow on the worst day.

Both characters are great.

I'll be honest, I didn't like Crow in Tamara's book. But we get to know the real Crow in this story. He is a good guy.

Broken wings are ready to fly again

Oh Chelle Bliss, what have you done to my heart?

BROKEN WINGS, book #3 in the Open Road series, is a story that pulled at every one of my heartstrings. Logan 'Crow' Taylor and Bridget 'Birdie' O'Connor are two people who just needed life to be on their side for once. Crow intrigued me during his appearances in Tamara Gallo's story, and now it's time for him to tell his story.

"We're like two birds with clipped wings who've fallen from the nest but have somehow found each other."

Crow has done his time for the single careless mement that altered his life, seven years time. Now he's free and is determined to find the man he once was and where his place in the world now is. Birdie is a single mum to a precious little girl, Mia. She's recently lost her mother and is struggling both financially and with her health. Suffering from a debilitating headache she stumbles down the stairs, leaving a terrified Mia searching for help. Crow just happens to be in the right place and does everything he can to reassure the little girl while seeking help for her beautiful mother. What follows is one the most heartbreakingly beautiful stories Chelle has written.

Together, we'll mend our broken wings and fly again."

Birdie, thanks to her past, has serious trust issues. So when Crow enters her life, she is unsure of what to think. I love that Crow sees her struggling and takes it upon himself to help her out, something Birdie never expected, but then again she never expected the man himself. I loved watching the friendship that developed between then, the protectiveness Crow instantly had for Birdie and Mia, and the way in which both Crow and Birdie were able to help each other overcome their pasts. They were made for each other, the manner in which their care and love grew was sublime. Add in little Mia, and the family they were destined to become was within their reach.

"It all started with a headache, a little girl, and a broken man who went stupidly into the unknown."

BROKEN WINGS
is a beautiful, slow burn romance about two people on a journey to happiness and love. It has its tender and loving moments, as well as moments where an extended family opens their arms to show just how much they care. I love that Crow's MC brothers welcome him home, after seven years, as if time never passed. I loved Birdie's inner strength and tenacity, her determination to give her daughter the best life possible. There's a couple of twists included, but they are more positive than negative.

BROKEN WINGS is a perfect addition to the Open Road series, and I can't wait for more.

A Beautifully Heartfelt & Amazing Story & Listen🎧 Love this Series!

Broken Wings
Open Road Series, Book 3
By: Chelle Bliss
Narrated by: Jason Clarke, Samantha Brentmoor

Chelle Bliss pens another beauty of a novel set in her “Open Road” series and I loved everything about it, from her wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. You can feel how much heart she put into this story as the emotions pour off the pages and straight into your own heart. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about too. Logan “Crow” Taylor finished serving the prison sentence that changed the path of his life and he needs to find a new one now that he is free. He is getting a feel for what he wants to do career wise and his brothers and sisters in the Disciples M.C. are there to help and support him. Bridget “Birdie” Connor, a single mom, struggles to make ends meet and has had some health issues which is effecting her employment. When she takes a fall in her home, her young daughter, Mia, runs outside to get help and Crow, who was out jogging, is the one who hears her frantic calls. Crow was amazing with Mia, who was absolutely adorable, and while he has not had the best of luck with helping people, he still came thru for Mia and her mother and then some. This book is about two people broken in their own ways, whose pieces fit together perfectly. I thought they were great together and for each other, the chemistry between them was smoking too. This wonderfully plotted story had the perfect balance of drama, a touch of angst, some heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions, and a slow burn, but oh so worth the wait, romance. Chelle Bliss, thank you for another amazing novel and emotional rollercoaster ride. It is always a pleasure to get lost in the stories and world you create, definitely escapism at its best.

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Jason Clarke and Samantha Brentmoor are fabulously talented narrators and versatile voice artists. Their portrayal of these characters is spot on and they have a complete understanding of their personas, give each a voice that suits them completely and are believable in every role they play. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they project all the characters’ emotions and project them into their performance, having you feel every single one. These entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another wonderful listen.
