MAHWAH, NJ — A revered Mexican-style food staple throughout the Northeast has opened a location in Mahwah, offering dishes that fans of the fast-casual chain have come to love since the brand's inception in 2008.

Bubbakoo's Burritos opened on Dec. 17 on 9 Franklin Turnpike in Mahwah, the ninth location (and fifth New Jersey location) owned by franchisee Perry Patel and his partners, according to a news release.

"It's no secret that I love the Bubbakoo's brand," said Patel, who opened his first Bubbakoo's in 2018. "Over the years, we've created a community of loyal fans at each existing location, and I'm ecstatic to do the same in Mahwah."

Bubbakoo's cofounder Paul Altero said that each of Patel's locations is an "outstanding example" of what the brand stands for, and delivers great food each and every time.

"Bubbakoo's was built on creating an impeccable restaurant experience for guests, and that starts with dedicated owners like the Patels,” Altero said.

Each menu item — including hibachi steak and shrimp burritos, Nashville hot chicken burritos, and customizable entree options — is made-to-order with fresh ingredients that will "wow" customers every time, Patel said.

Founded in the Jersey Shore, Bubbakoo's has expanded to more than 50 locations in the Garden State, and is nearing 100 locations across the U.S.

"As we near a milestone (15-year) anniversary and location count, we remain firm in our belief of offering customers food they won't find in the typical Mexican eatery concept," the other cofounder Bill Hart said. "Our menu items are meticulously crafted to deliver unique and delicious flavor profiles that keep customers coming back for more."
