In recent weeks, headlines have reflected ongoing research into the future of work for cultural and creative professionals including measures implemented by government to respond to changes in the sector.
In Europe, this week the European Parliament will host the first European Citizens’ Panel to discuss themes including culture, economy, jobs and social justice. In Finland, Arts Promotion Centre Finland and the Cultural Policy Research Centre opened the latest round of their national Arts and Culture Barometer online survey, which investigates the future of creative work, the role of artists in society and the impact of COVID-19 on artists’ work and livelihoods. In Northern Ireland,
the Arts Council of Northern Ireland has published the Freelance Practitioner Research Report, which identifies needs of freelance artists in theatre and dance. In Scotland, Creative Scotland has commissioned the Fair Work Review, to help inform its planning and research, including how it might better support the cultural and creative sectors to implement Fair Work practices.
In the Americas, as part of its 21st Century Skills Initiative to support public policy for cultural and creative sector skills in the region, the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) has published Behind the scenes: creativity and investment for Latin America and the Caribbean, which outlines action required to achieve workforce growth in the audio-visual industry. While at a national level, in Colombia, during the tenth session of the National Council of the Orange Economy, the Ministry of Culture set goals for the future of the cultural and creative industries that include the reactivation of jobs and training for artists.
Elsewhere, in Australia the Australia Council for the Arts has released its Creativity at Work report, which provides insights on preparing creative professionals for the future of work in 21st century industries and workplaces. In South Africa, the National Arts Council of South Africa hosted a webinar series, Roadmap to Success: Womxn in the Arts Dialogue which includes a focus on how female artists and creatives can sustain their careers during a global pandemic and into the future. And In Viet Nam, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism has signed a resolution to implement a series of policies to support sector employees and employers facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including artists and actors that hold the rank of public employees.

Zimbabwe: Sport, Arts Get Greenlight to Resume... Participants to Be Fully Vaccinated

Draft Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence

En las últimas semanas, los titulares han reflejado el progreso de las indagaciones sobre el futuro del empleo de los profesionales del sector creativo y cultural, incluyendo las medidas puestas en marcha por distintos gobiernos para responder a los cambios en el sector.
En Europa, el Parlamento Europeo acogerá esta semana el primer Panel de europeo de ciudadanos para debatir temas de cultura, economía, empleo y justicia social. En Finlandia, el Centro de Promoción de las Artes y el Centro de Investigación en Política Cultural han abierto la última ronda de su Barómetro nacional de las artes y la cultura, que estudia el futuro del empleo creativo, el papel de los artistas en la sociedad y el impacto del COVID-19 en el trabajo y sustento de las y
los artistas. En Irlanda del Norte, el Consejo de las Artes de Irlanda del Norte ha publicado un Informe de investigación de los profesionales autónomos, que identifica las necesidades de las y los artistas autónomos en el teatro y la danza. En Escocia, Creative Scotland ha encargado un estudio sobre las condiciones de trabajo justo en el sector de las artes y la cultura como herramienta para su trabajo de planificación e investigación, de cara a dar un mejor apoyo a los
sectores cultural y creativo en la puesta en marcha de medidas de trabajo justo.
En las Américas, el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID) ha publicado Detrás de cámaras: creatividad e inversión para América Latina y el Caribe como parte de su Iniciativa Habilidades del Siglo XXI, que busca apoyar las políticas públicas en material de habilidades del sector creativo y cultural en la región. El informe detalla las acciones encaminadas a conseguir un crecimiento de la fuerza de trabajo en la industria audiovisual. A nivel nacional, el Ministerio de Cultura de Colombia expuso, durante la décima sesión del Consejo Nacional de Economía Naranja, las metas trazadas para el futuro de las industrias culturales y creativas, en términos de reactivación y formación de los artistas.
También de actualidad en lugares como Australia, el Consejo de las Artes ha publicado su informe La creatividad en el trabajo, que ofrece perspectivas sobre la preparación de las y los profesionales creativos para el futuro del empleo en las industrias y puestos de trabajo creativos del siglo XXI. En Sudáfrica, donde el Consejo Nacional de las Artes organizó una serie de webinarios, Hoja de ruta para el éxito: elles en el diálogo artístico, que incluye un foco
sobre cómo las artistas y creativas pueden mantener su carrera durante la pandemia global y en el futuro. Y en Vietnam, el viceministro de Cultura, Deportes y Turismo ha firmado una resolución para poner en marcha una serie de políticas destinadas a apoyar a los empleados y empleadores del sector en dificultades por la pandemia del COVID-19, lo que incluye a artistas y actores con rango de empleados públicos.

Ibermúsicas: la SNC renueva alianza estratégica con APA, AIE y SGP para fortalecimiento del sector musical nacional

MEC y UTE anunciaron medidas de apoyo al sector cultural

La presidenta de la Administración Nacional de Usinas y Transmisiones (UTE), Silvia Emaldi, comentó que la decisión que tomó el directorio es “acompañar a la reactivación del sector cultural y de salones de fiesta durante seis meses con la exoneración de todos los cargos fijos y, aquellos que tienen alguna deuda con la empresa podrán refinanciarla e iniciar su pago a partir del mes de marzo del año próximo en 16 cuotas”. Esto abarca a unas 600 instituciones culturales en todo el país y a unos 200 salones de fiestas y afines.

Ministerio de las Culturas e Injuv firman alianza para fortalecer red de voluntariado y participación de jóvenes en patrimonio

El rol de las nuevas generaciones en la protección y salvaguardia del patrimonio cultural es fundamental para proyectar y transmitir el acervo cultural en Chile. Justamente con el propósito de fortalecer y ampliar las oportunidades para la participación y capacitación de las y los jóvenes, el Ministerio de las Culturas, las Artes y el Patrimonio y el Instituto Nacional de la Juventud (Injuv) firmaron un convenio de colaboración que activa una mesa de trabajo permanente para planificar y ejecutar un conjunto de acciones en la materia dirigidas y protagonizadas por los propios jóvenes.

México, Colombia y Chile en una charla sobre el impulso de la industria creativa en la región

En el inicio del tercer día del Gran Foro Mundial de Artes, Cultura, Creatividad y Tecnología 201 (GFACCT), se juntaron para charlar algunas de las personalidades de la cultura a nivel lationamericano. Ernesto Ottone, subdirector de cultura de la Unesco; Enrique Vargas, coordinador del Espacio Cultural Iberoamericano; y Angélica Mayolo Obregón, ministra de Cultura de Colombia, hicieron parte de la charla “Año Internacional de la Economía Creativa: reactivación y modernización para la pospandemia”, como parte de la programación de la sala Cumbre del GFACCT.
