2nd day of the second session. Thanks to Alfred Fenderson (Cleveland Builds), Jabir Bassit (Independence Excavating, Inc.), Chris Brodinski (Infinity Paving Company) and Karon Wenson (CATTS Construction, Inc.) for attending even though it's a Sunday during a snowstorm! Today, attendees laid out the foundation of a service garage in our training center. First they performed the layout using traditional methods (batter boards, strings and tape measures). Once they had their layout, they painted the outside of the foundation lines. We then used Trimble AR (Augmented Reality) on our 5th gen iPad to overlay the plan onto the tablet. Attendees used the tablet to check their work. Attendees then used the Robotic Total Station to layout the rest of the project in a quarter of the time versus the traditional method. Attendees were also show how to create offset points for their rebar and anchor bolts. A big thank you to the Cement Masons Local 404 JATC for purchasing all of this equipment. Another big thank you to Ian Warner and Benjamin Little from Trimble Inc. and Building Point Ohio Valley, for providing the guidance and software to make this all happen!
Awesome stuff right here! Barry - thanks for doing what you do with these guys!
