TROY (WWJ) -- A young woman from Dearborn is facing a drunken driving charge after she was pulled over early last Friday morning in Oakland County.

According to Troy Police, just after 2:30 a.m. on Jan. 27, officers spotted a driver coming off the southbound I-75 ramp on to Big Beaver Rd. changing lanes multiple times without signing and swerving.

Officers made a traffic stop and spoke with the driver, a 23-year-old woman in a 2022 Jeep Gladiator, noting that "her speech was slurred and there was an odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle," according to the police report.

The driver told officers she was on the way home from a family restaurant where she works as a bartender, and that she'd had nothing to drink since 9 p.m.

However, police said the woman then proceeded to fail several sobriety tests before blowing a .175% BAC on a breathalyzer test.

The driver was arrested and taken to the Troy Police Lock-Up where she tested at .16% on a chemical breath test.

She was issued a citation for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI), according to the police department.

Police did not release the woman's name, or the name of the restaurant where she works.
