It has been somewhat of a rough couple of days for Baker Mayfield.
He played horribly on Sunday against the Lions, which caused him to get booed. He then had to explain how he felt about that, saying he didn’t care about them because they’re the ones who won’t shut up when the offense is trying to operate.
His wife then shared a post about how everyone needed to be tough like Baker, which she then deleted. Then Baker was asked about why he walked off the field by himself instead of celebrating the win with his teammates and if it sends a mixed message since he says all he cares about is winning.
Now, Skip Bayless is reporting that the Browns locker room is “very close” to turning on Baker because of how the Odell Beckham Jr. deal went down. Skip even made a point of saying it was the black players that were considering turning against Mayfield. All seemed well today when many of Baker’s teammates, white and black, helped him serve meals to the needy.
It’s that time of year. With Thanksgiving on Thursday, TownHall hosted its ninth annual “Feed the Need,” which was once again hosted by Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield and his wife and 3News contributor, Emily Mayfield.
From 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Baker and Emily, as well as a host of special guests, served nearly 4,000 free turkey dinners to families in need.
“TownHall has hosted Feed the Need for the last eight years and is proud to continue supporting the local community,” says TownHall owner Bobby George. “This event is the highlight of our year.”
Over the past nine years, nearly 35,000 meals have been distributed. The special guests amongst the list distributing meals in the past have been Mayfield, Denzel Ward, UFC champ Stipe Miocic, Myles Garrett, Dwyane Wade and many more notable names.
The crazy thing is, despite all of this, the Browns still have a good chance to make the playoffs, but a split locker room could hurt that.
