Schools Sprint for Simon

This Christmas, Galway Simon are calling on schools from across the West to take part in the Schools Sprint for Simon Christmas Challenge! From December 1st, we are calling on students to get active by doing a sponsored walk, jog or run in December. This could be running a lap around your school yard or local pitch during the month of December, organising a sponsored relay, or a morning session of sponsored sprints – the choice is yours!

For more information or to get involved in this years Sprint for Simon, contact Carol Hynes at [email protected] or phone (091) 381 828

Why get involved?

As we enter the winter months and face into the new year, everyone and especially our students need something to clear their mind and promote their mental and physical well-being. Why not help raise vital funds for those experiencing and at risk of homelessness at the same time?

The difference you could make

While Christmas is usually a time for giving and enjoying time with loved ones, for those facing homelessness, it can be a particularly challenging time. Families are facing into an incredibly difficult time this Winter with record high levels of homelessness experienced across the country and the lowest availability of affordable accommodation. This perfect storm is being compounded by families facing food and fuel poverty.

Right now, record numbers of families across the West are living in Emergency Accommodation or on the brink of losing their homes. We know that times are tough for everyone this Christmas, but if you are in a position to support our work, here is how you could make a real difference.

100% of funds raised will go directly towards helping us to protect vulnerable people in our community from the risk of homelessness.
