In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, Jamie Lee Curtis revealed she is officiating her daughter's wedding -- and will be doing so in a World of Warcraft cosplay.

After Kimmel congratulated her on the news of her daughter Ruby's upcoming nuptials, Curtis revealed the ceremony will take place in her backyard like her eldest daughter Annie's wedding three years ago, but there will be a twist. "It's a cosplay wedding," she announced before taking a moment to painstakingly explain the concept to Kimmel with her characteristic wit. She went on to say that Ruby and her fiancée Cynthia picked out the character she would cosplay: Jaina Proudmoore.

According to Curtis, the wedding will feature a "beautiful picnic" in the backyard, something that touches her deeply. "Both my children will have been married in my backyard, which brings me to tears."

This is not the first time Curtis has worn cosplay and not the only time she's dressed as a character from the game. In 2016, Curtis appeared with Ruby at the Warcraft film premiere, both dressed in elaborate orc regalia, and in 2015 Curtis infiltrated BlizzCon as a World of Warcraft undead. Despite this, Curtis seemed to feign ignorance about the game.

"Anybody here know what that is?" Curtis asked the crowd, who laughed in response. "It's a game, I don't know. She's an admiral."

However, though the most meaningful for Curtis, this newest cosplay is not the easiest. She searched for a Jaina Proudmoore cosplay on Etsy and placed her order after finding a seller. A few weeks ago, she received unfortunate news. "She said, 'There may be a delay in sending the costume.' I said, 'Okay, that's fine. A week or two is fine.'" That's when Curtis revealed the costume is being shipped from Russia. As Curtis politely put it, the current war between Russia and Ukraine had created a "supply chain issue" that might hold up the seamstress she hired to make the cosplay.

Curtis is not the only celebrity to don cosplay. Recently, Thor: Love and Thunder's Chris Hemsworth shared a photo of his sons dressed up in Thor cosplay. Athlete and fitness trainer Jade Cargill went viral a few years ago after cosplaying as Storm. In 2020, Cardi B channeled Barb Wire, the bounty hunter played by Pamela Anderson, in a viral photoshoot. Even the late Congressman, John Lewis, attended the 2015 Comic-Con, albeit dressed as the comic book version of his younger self from the graphic novels he co-wrote about his life, March.
