Do you have excellent customer service and communication skills? Would you like to support educational groups in making the most of the experiences offered by the Science Museum in London?
The Science Museum is the most visited museum in the UK by school children and we also welcome lots of community and youth groups. Together these add up to around 12,000 group visits per year, bringing nearly 450,000 educational visitors through our doors.
As one of our Learning Support Officers you will be the first point of contact over the phone and via email, for the teachers and group leaders who are organising these educational trips. While helping plan their time in the museum, you will give advice and encourage participation in free and charged events and promote our learning resources to help them get the most from their visit.
You’ll process their bookings using our CRM system and deal with changes and amendments when they occur. Alongside the school trips, you’ll handle bookings for schools and community groups requesting a visit by our Outreach team to deliver sessions at their venue.
This is a busy role working with one other Learning Support Officer, with a focus on delivering great customer service and helping shape memorable learning experiences for our educational audiences.
Joining us you will have excellent communication skills with the ability to work well using a telephone. You will have previous experience completing administrative tasks coupled with good time-management and organisational skills. You will possess good attention to detail, a proactive approach to working and the ability to work well in a team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a friendly and ambitious Learning team within a renowned organisation.
The Science Museum Group (SMG) is here to inspire futures. We are working hard to understand our organisation better and to foster a culture that recognises and values different backgrounds, mindsets, skills, experience, knowledge and expertise.
