Nokia and MEXT, the Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries Technology Center, are working together on 5G private wireless in the country. As part of the collaboration the two will also work to advance the digital transformation of the Turkish industrial sector and enable the local ecosystem to jointly work on 5G private wireless.

Stack partners Hafslund Oslo Celsio for data centre heat reuse

Stack Infrastructures and Hafslund Oslo Celsio confirm that excess heat from Stack’s OSL01 data centre now provides heat and hot water 5,000 Oslo homes. The news follows a one-year ramp-up collaboration between the two and started as an idea back in 2018.

Verizon, Ericsson to construct private 5G network for US DoD

Verizon and Ericsson will build a private 5G network in an aircraft hangar on Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam after the former was awarded US$11.5 by the US Department of Defense (DoD).

Philippines' Globe sells telecoms towers for $340 million

Philippines' Globe Telecom Inc GLO.PS said on Tuesday it has signed a deal to sell more than a thousand telecoms towers for 20 billion pesos ($340 million) to fund expansion and pay off maturing debts.

In a disclosure, Globe said it will sell 1,350 towers located in central and southern Philippines, and will lease them back from Phil-Tower Consortium.

Microsoft, Zoom make strong gains in UCaaS market

Microsoft and Zoom’s UCaaS subscriber base grew by 40% compared to last year, according to new research from Synergy Research group.
They both now have market shares of around 10% compared to 2109 when Microsoft was only a minor player and Zoom first launched as a service.

GlobalNet unveiled two new PoPs in Copenhagen and Hamburg

DATAIX, a Dutch Internet exchange network, and GlobalNet, a network backbone provider, is expanding into Northern Europe with two new points of presence (PoPs) in the region. The two new PoPs, located in Copenhagen and Hamburg, have enabled a connectivity triangle that spans Stockholm-Amsterdam-Frankfurt.
